Honestly, a separate Story Mode selection menu wouldn't be a bad addition though. We already have it for the new chapters.

The biggest thing that can make these FPs more amicable is a healthy dose of patience on the part of speedrunners. And frankly, I don't think that Bioware can help with that.
And since it will never happen I made practical suggestions that could change the situation instead of expecting players with different views to miraculously conform.
  2. If it's one thing we've learned as a community it's that flashpoints can get very contentious quickly when playing with random players that have different goals, playstyles, and patience levels. Here's a few problems that frequently arise, and how they could be fixed by Bioware:

    Dialogue cutscenes:

Even though there's Story Mode, many players still queue for veteran mode, and irritate other players by not spamming spacebar. This system needed to be revised years ago. Skipping dialogue should work like vote kicks, if two or more members opt to skip the cutscene it should automatically finish for the entire group. Also, you shouldn't have to press space bar 100 times. Simply add a three or four second timer for holding spacebar with a UI element that shows progress toward cancellation. If two members do this, the convo ends. Then a box pops up for other members explaining convos can be viewed in Solo mode unchallenged.

Before long, most players will be holding space bar just to prevent the popup. :rak_03:

    Bonus Objectives & Bosses:

This one is simple. Make bonuses worth doing. The reason players queue for flashpoints is CXP. If killing a bonus boss would make the run twice or three times more rewarding everyone would be onboard. Also, unique loot drops go along way.

    Mob skipping:

One of the most frustrating things for long time vets of older flashpoints is when needless trash mobs get pulled by less experienced players. So either make bonus objectives for killing all trash, and/or as little as possible so players are rewarded for one style or another.

:rak_02:Do you have other ideas or suggestions? let's hear em.

  3. The main problem I have with KOTFE/KOTET is the time span between the Ziost event, and chapter 1 of KOTFE.

Are we to assume Vitiate was able to cease control of Zakuul, build up the Eternal Fleet, and do everything else he had to do to prepare during that time span? It was only a few months for us, but it feels like it should have been decades, and none of the characters involved seem to have aged. Or was it that he had indeed began controlling Valkorian much earlier, and maintained a presence on multiple planets?

It always seemed more appropriate to me to have frozen our characters in carbonite after the Ziost events, and not after the Eternal Fleet invasion.

  4. that would be beyond OP tough. Demolish is way too much dps to spread as far as DoT goes.

That said those change seems lackluster. There is nothing to adress the force issues, which will become more marked in pvp with the increased of the heal cost.

Deathfield's damage bonus being up is nice, but Affliction and Creeping terror need a slight buff as well.

This kind of slight adjustment is the kind Lightning needs, but Madness definitely needed more love than that to be competitive.

Even if that's the case, I'd still like to be able to spread all of my dots since Madness is thé dot profession. If the damage on demolish needs to be brought down, and the other two brought up so be it.

  5. appropriate dps nerfs are all good, but I'm fearing BioWare is overlooking the thing that's making Merc OP in PVP more than anything. Responsive Safeguards

I know to stop DPSing when I see reflected damage, but 90% of the other people that solo queue don't, and mercs are constantly getting healed to full with it every time.

  6. While Merc did need some damage nerf, I feel the real issue that made them so OP is RESPONSIVE SAFEGUARDS Which absorbs all incoming damage for 6 seconds, reflects 50%, AND heals the merc for 5% of their health for every hit.

This is what made merc so OP with 5.0, not their damage....

I'd rather see all the damage perks left alone and RS scaled down than have them get a heavy damage nerf and no change to RS.

    amiright? :rak_02:

  7. Major Valor Boosts which are rewarded from Encrypted Datacubes are now bind on pickup.

Something NO player was asking for, but since it circumvents direct purchases from the cartel market by 0.00001%..... IT MUST BE STOPPED!

  8. Cartel certificates definatly need to make a return. The only method of getting them (slot machine deco) is not reliable enough. I recently spent 2000 tokens (not including the tokens I won back) and got zero cartel certs.

I'm really hoping the next Nar Shadaa NIght Life event finally brings the rest of the slot machine decos, and makes some changes to the loot tables.

Many mounts also need their hook requirements changed. Too many old mounts still only fit on a large hook.

Also, where are the resource node decos for the last couple tiers of mats?

  9. Hey, making me do extra work. ;) It should be 125 CXP and 250 with the 100% boost.

That's pretty weak sauce man. For 600 shards we should get a couple CXP levels(~9000)... AT LEAST!

I can go up a CXP level in a couple warzones (with no boost), so why should I spend several hours farming 600 crystals on Iokath for 125 cp?

I know you play the game, Keith. Why does a 125 cxp reward sound reasonable to you?:rak_02:

  10. They plan to adress it in 5.1.2: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=9231661#edit9231661

    • The PvP Daily and Weekly Missions now reward a batch of Unassembled Components.
    • We have increased the Unassembled Components that are awarded to players after completing Ranked and Unranked Warzones.

Still, it's not intended to work the same way as pre 5.0 PVP gearing. The main way to get gear remains command crates. IMO the best use for unassembled components is to upgrade T2 gear you got from command crates, don't waste them to buy or upgrade T1.

Thanks. Yeah, at first I was pissed because I had already dismantled several T1 pieces I didn't need pre-5.1, but I've since got several more from crates and still don't have enough components to buy one piece of T2. This new system is such a joke on so many levels.
