  1. Considering I have read the opposite of stellar and mixed feelings inbetween in plenty of forum posts from this one and other forums I'm not going to take your word for it. What makes me believe you even less is that I have two friends who both got into the beta this morning, played it for 2 or 3 hours, and haven't touched it since. They went right back to playing WoW and either TOR or Rift. Just a little funfact, they were both the same kind of people that were hyping it to be the second coming for MMOs.

Just so we're also clear their complaints weren't the performance issues even though the game had more than should be tolerated even for a beta test. They didn't like how the 'dynamic' events were just a different way to initiate the same old quests we've been playing for years now, the voiceover work is subpar at best, the visuals weren't as impressive as they seemed from promotional material, PvP is nothing more than an AoEfest and smacking on doors most of the time, and when they found out there are no raids except outdoor bosses that just mostly stand in one place and let you beat on them... yeah they immediately went for a refund.

As well, didn't you say that you are a RAIDING GUILD? If you are then at what point did any lackluster PvP in TOR make you decide to take your RAIDING GUILD to GW2 for it's PvP? I sure hope the PvP in that game works for you because if it doesn't you'll be saying, "Oh well at least we can raid...... ummm guys where are the raids?"

You nailed it. I took a day off work on Friday to play GW2 beta, expecting something totally different than what it is. Now I have spent the last day trying to get them to answer my emails asking for them to cancel my prepurchase so I can get my money back. I couldn't play that game no matter how bored I was of any other. Sucks too, because I wanted it to be a good game. I was shocked at how bad it really was. The quests are about as engaging as playing Pac-Man as an MMO would be, sorry Pac ole boy, you're better than that I know.

  2. Played GW2 today. Its really really bad. The voice acting is horrible the graphics sub par. It looks just like WoW. Also cash shop is extensive. So ya not worried about GW2. Its a huge disappointment even to me and I had no real high expectations.

So true. I was excited to try Guild Wars 2 this weekend for beta, totally sucked. I mean it was so bad I couldn't get into it no matter how hard I tried. By far the worst MMO I have ever played. Having said all that, I think This game is good, but I'm bored out of my mind so if 1.3 doesn't come with some major content than I will be gone, TSW beta weekends start May 11th. Maybe that game will be good, if not then TOR is about the only game worth messing around with for now.

  3. If anything they should have expanded this to allow us to kill anyone carrying the plague. The news bulletin gives direction to kill anyone who is showing signs. So that is the point, when you get infected , Imperials are obligated to kill you off. This is what the entire event is based around. If you don't like it, then you should always remain vaccinated as not to become infected.
  4. Actually...I would prefer a cross server Looking for Group tool and be on a low pop server. No mob camping, less lag...less crap in General chat..no que time for when you want to play...etc...etc. And I pay a sub each month, so that makes me pretty serous.

Being "serous" is a very "serious" condition you know. Look it up if you don't believe me.

  5. Sorry to say but there is not a single thing out for legacy that I would spend money on, and not because I can't afford it but because I refuse to throw credits away to appease their attempt at credit sinks. I hope in 1.3 something they put out for legacy abilities will actually be worth spending money on. So far all we have is a bunch of worthless things that cost far too much.
  6. its actually pretty bad since pvp shouldnt be about objectives it should be about you know

killing other players.hince why its called playervsplayer

player vs player is much different than player kill player. PvP has to do with objectives, defending, healing and strategy as much as killing. Because it is, you know, a game.

  7. Yes, but 1.2 and even 1.3 are "early on". The initial sets don't need addressed right now, especially when they're working to shape the game into its mature state. I'm sure they'll get around to the past sets, but right now there are better things to work on.

I'm going to have to disagree with you a 2 fronts. It would make sense for them to just lay it across the board that set bonuses transfer for all armor. If you take a new player and put them in the SWTOR world, give them the opportunity to crit craft gear and use it right away (with any gear that has a set bonus) they have a better chance of enjoyment of both game and crafting. Also, they have stated they need to add more "money sinks" into the game. This is evident with many of the additions you see on the market and especially with legacy. When you start ripping mods out of your gear, multiple times as you acquire new gear, that is a massive money sink and an easy win for BioWare with the community.

  8. I think we're getting a little sidetracked by talking about healing exclusively. If all you want to do is heal you can target the tank (by hitting his portrait) and just sit there pecking out the healz button.

However, targetting mobs is a bit of a nightmare in SWTOR at the moment. So dps classes mould probably benefit the most of "through targetting" and ensure they don't inadvertently grab aggro off a mob the tank isn't directly attacking. In games with bigger raids you would usually do this by targetting through an off tank.

Going back to healers however I would imagine they would like to do other things than constantly hitting the heal button. Heck if the game went down this road I can imagine 3rd party bot programs being easily constructed to do the healing.

So, target assist or through targetting isn't just for healers. In fact I would argue that it would be more useful for every other class in fact. Adapting the existing target of target window to allow this method of targetting for all classes would, in my opinion, make grouping far more enjoyable and allow the devs to design more complicated encounters.

Kilos of WIN all round imo.

Preach it brother! I agree 110%....

  9. I just rechecked, and yes I know how to enable frames, as I've done my whole UI.

But I could nowhere find the "target of focus" frame or what ever I should call it.

Even moved all my UI elements away, to maybe see if it got stuffed behind some other element.

Ofc I do not mean the normal "focus target" frame, but a frame that show the target that my focus has targeted.

Ah, yea that's not in there anywhere that I've seen either. That would be nice though.

  10. I agree, we need more balance in our defense. The nerf to our entire tree was way to great. The other night we were doing the new Raid zone. We went with 3 mercs. One was a healer the other 2 were DPS. It was insane, the healer kept overheating, the DPS died and did way to little damage. The fact is, the Nerf was way to great on all tree's for Merc. Sure others got hit too, but this post is about the Mercenary Tree nerf's. The real question of the day, will BioWare listen or shall they continue to do what they wish and Nerf away until there are only Jugg's and Marauders left on the servers and then nerf them?
  11. Its there, you just have to enable it. Open you UI editor, you will see the feature as red. Click on this and scroll down, click on enable and re size, move and place this where you like. Unfortunately it is only a picture, it does not function in that you can target assist with this window like in some other MMO's.
  12. Seriously?? Sounds to me like some people don't want to play the game and want the game to play for them..

Change targets for pete sakes!! You don't need to DPS through the tank and heal the tank at the same time without changing targets.. That is absurd!!

Is there something wrong with just playing the game?? There are a ton of target options now in this game.. You have both focus target and target of target..

What is next?? A button that will automatically know what skill you want to use so you can just sit there and beat on one button?? Come on guys..

You must not play a healer. Target assist makes healing a great deal more fun. Actually it makes the entire game alot more fun. RIFT has it, EQ has it, SWTOR could and should have it. Most agree, if you do not, that's ok, not everyone can be right.

  13. Also keep in mind, if you are expecting the target of target to work like RIFT or EQ2 it does not. Some would refer to that as target assist, the target of target in this game only shows you who your target has targeted. If you wish to acquire their target you must use your modifier hot key.
