  1. Jesus Christ why are people complaining about a TEN DOLLAR expansion that gives a new planet and 5 levels? Do you seriously need to know every little detail about an expansion that is only ten bucks, which is 1/15th what some people payed for this game? What do you need to know about it that is so vitally important that might prevent you from paying what amounts to 3 gallons worth of gas? You know what I would agree with you if this was a 39.99 full blown expansion, but this is a really good deal to pay $10 for more levels gear skills and a new planet
  2. The DDE was like half the price, and it got most all the CE got in game, which was exactly what it was supposed to get. If you wanted your son to receive the things promised in the future for CE owners, you should have bought him the CE. It's called Digital DELUXE Edition not Digital Collector's Edition.
  3. That is ridiculous. Why would they allow you to access all content so far free if youre not paying a sub? These are MMOs, not console game where you pay once and boom youre done. It doesn't make practical sense or business sense. Have you EVER come across and MMO that went F2P but allowed the subbers and non-subbers access to the exact same content? No of course not.
  4. logging in now, servers ARE up
  5. After you finish chapter 1 of your story, usually around lvl 30
  6. How do you know how long it should take? do you have any idea whats involved? nope.
  7. You have to go with Naboo. Such a beautiful planet, you could make it an amazing place to explore and I can only imagine how awesome Theed would be. You guys need to make a sandbox-like planet, or just a planet different from the typical theme-park hold your hand guided thing. Lok would be very cool also. Would make for a great story line.
  8. lol it's not difficult to micromanage at all? whats so hard about buying x of this armoring, x of this mod, and x of this enchancement?
  9. He is saying that why as a DPS scoundrel can he only get a rank 9 armoring from planetary com vendors when the other DPS classes may get rank 11 from the same vendor. Correct me if I'm wrong OP.
  10. No you will not because madness is not a tanking tree and you wear light armor. You have to go Darkness spec if you want to tank. Madness is a DPS spec and has no extra defensive abilities.
  11. You can argue the success but it stayed open for 8 years, much longer than most MMOs do.
  12. Elitist? More like realist. Do you really think EQ/ultima/swg etc were successful for such a long time because of the casual players? Nope, it's because they had a solid base and a core vision of the game. Casuals by definition do not play as much, and since they don't have time to accomplish certain things they think everything should be attainable for them as a casual player. That isn't how MMOs work and it isn't how successful ones stay open forever. Never before have I seen such vitriol and crudeness in an MMO like this before because of the base Bioware has attempted to attract. Casuals are like wham bam thank you maam and move on to the next game. You can't expect to build a long term MMO off of them.
  13. They ruin every MMO they come to. They whine and whine and want you to make everything easier but then complain about whatever you do, even if you accomplish what they wanted. You CANNOT sustain a sizable player base with a majority of casuals. They are the type of people who beat a game and then move on to the next. If you keep trying to please people who can't be pleased, nothing will work out.
  14. Why should Bioware have to accommodate your choices? This companion is not needed, necessary, required, or mandatory. So what if you have 8 imperials on the same server and don't feel like doing it. Since when was Bioware required to make every cool item or piece of content you like available to your specific, redundant playstyle? What if you wanted to be able to do the new Op Explosive Conflict? That is only open to people who have completed specific content and gotten specific gear. PVP players can't experience it without doing what the PVE players did, and neither can the "soloers". You have a simple choice. Delete one of your five level 10 and under characters (lets be honest, most of you are complaining about having to delete a character you've only logged on once) and create an opposite faction player and level it for a few days, or not get HK-51. Bioware doesn't have to make everything open to everyone. This is an MMO, not a single player game. People are going to have things others don't have because THEY put in the work.
  15. That's why it's not fair. It's a PVP nerf but it only drastically affects PVE. They need to make it so when you go into PVP your moves do different things than in PVE.
  16. Don't you realize how many people would complain the SECOND it came out because it was too hard for them to do? MMOs have always been about grinds and time consuming tasks that weren't necessarily difficult, but took time to do. If we did it your way, some people would finish it in a half hour and then complain about there being nothing to do. You shouldn't have bought this game if you didn't think alts were going to be a big part of it. That was made clear from the beginning. They always talked about the total gameplay hours and how many stories there were and legacy stuff, you knew alts would be very important.
  17. HOW can they calculate the weekend populations weeks in advance when they DONT KNOW how many people are transferring? Do you realize how many will transfer this weekend? You're one of the types that wants everything now now now but you'd be the first to complain if there was a 20 min queue on your new server because they hastily transferred your server without looking at population. (I'm willing to bet a majority of the people saying "i quit!!! i cant wait 48 hours because im not an adult!" are not actually quitting, they are just raging out on the forums because it makes them feel better.
  18. Discriminatory against those who don't like to play alts? LOL. Wow. What if I said that campaign gear is discriminatory against soloers and they dont feel like spend a few hours in a raid each week? It's not like this companion is game breaking, it's a neat perk for those who choose to complete the requirements. You were told from the beginning this game was going to be heavily alt based with the legacy system and all. If you don't like rolling alts, then you should not be able to get it. Why should rare items or perks in the game conform to your play style and what you feel like doing. MMOs have always had certain rare things that have a set of requirements to get them. Not everyone is able to obtain them. You are not going to get every cool item in this game if you refuse to only follow your own play style. Thats how it's always been.
  19. There is no valid reason why they shouldn't be allowed. It's not hard to click on someone's name or portrait. Do you guys really think you are that special? I hope you don't act this unreasonable in real life. Maybe it's just the internet.
  20. Time consuming does not equal challenging. I wish BW would tell people "too bad so sad" if they cant spend a week or two leveling a character. If you don't feel like doing something not that difficult to unlock the companion then too bad. I see all you people saying you have all 8 of the same faction or whatever but admit most of them are under level 20 and don't really do anything.
  21. I believe that most successful MMOs over the years have challenged it's players in a lot of ways, and gave a lot of ways for people who work hard to distinguish them selves. I think that if this game (and others) decides to keep on adding relatively easy, not very challenging content, then people will get bored with it fast. Even though they get what they want. The casual isn't really a solid market anyway because a lot of them are fickle about the games they play.
  22. You're right, you really are. But thats how bad things have devolved in MMOs, nothing is actually challenging and I'm forced to consider a time sink a "challenge". Could have used a better word though, you are right. The first MMO I really got into was star wars galaxies. One of the things that attracted me to it the most was that I found out that Jedi were super rare and it took a 6 month grind to even unlock your Jedi. The amount of dedication it took is what attracted me. It would have been the ultimate sense of accomplishment. Now imagine if Jedi and Sith took 6 months to unlock in this game? I, for one, would absolutely love it, but many people would quit because they all want to be Jedi from the start.
  23. I'm not trolling, I want to have a serious discussion. For example, the HK-51 companion coming out is probably going to require both a lvl 50 imperial and a lvl republic character on the same legacy to get. People all of a sudden start to complain about how they "don't feel like leveling an opposite faction character" and "Bioware messed this one up I'm quitting". I happen to like the requirement because not everyone is going to get it, it's fun to experience leveling a character on both sides, and it's not another one of those freebies to come in the mail. We have to work for it. People in this game feel they are entitled to get everything that comes out in this game, and if they don't feel like doing it, it becomes "unfair" and "bad business Bioware". I think some people fail to realize that this is not a single player game. You aren't going to get everything handed to you. In MMOs a lot of the successful players have things the other don't because they put in more effort. This isn't even a diffcult requirement anyway. I applaud Bioware for making this awesome companion at least a little difficult to get. I'm not trying to disparage anyone, I'd really like to know why people feel that if they don't like to do something then it shouldn't be a requirement to get a cool companion. I know some people have filled all their charact6er slots but have like a lvl 40, a lvl 20 and six lvl 1-10 characters. You can afford to delete one of them to level a republic guy if you want HK-51. It is your choice whether to fulfill the requirements or not. Can we at least have a somewhat civil discussion for once? I have a feeling it's going to be too much to ask.
  24. Still not hard to invite or whisper people. Have them send you a tell first and right click on their name. Isn't thinking fun? I can't see many situations where you would absolutely need someone to type your name.
  25. lol You know there are multiple instances of the fleet right? it wouldn't be very heavy with 40 people on fleet. You were either in the second or third instance. My server, Prophecy of the Five, has 3 instances daily now.
