  1. LoL this is a stupid debate. This thread is simply about the difference between burst damage and total damage. BURST damage (a lot of damage in a very short period of time) is what you need against healers and most effective in PvP. Having a lot of burst damage, doesn't necessarily mean you will do more TOTAL damage. It merely means that your damage has a "spiky" characteristic. When tanks (I define that as classes who can guard) can burst like pure DPS classes... then they will need a nerf. So far, I haven't really seen too much evidence of that (Carolina Parkeet maybe).

  3. Yes. Overall it's been a solid start. Bio ware please do not rush and think before you implement changes. Do not go down the path of wow.
  4. MVP is such a subjective thing. You might want to award the guy who has been defending a door/node the whole game and have been critical in calling out incs, and yet he isn't even close to doing the most damage/healing and etc. Similarly, the one who does the most damage could be losing the game for you when he/she is tunnel visioning and forgetting to defend nodes and stuff. MVP system is ok for now imo tbh.
  5. Gear should always matter in an mmo. There is no sense of achievement otherwise. A lot of people like the fact that their gear represents what they have achieved (I'm not going to debate whether or not getting BM is a great achievement at this time...). BUT, having said that, the better gear should only have a minuscule stat boost to leave room for the "skill differentiator". If you're good in champ gear, it should be possible for you to beat someone in BM gear but more difficult. In other words, stat inflation should be prevented. This is what ruined WoW mostly.
  6. Dotting everyone by tab and one button is NOT tactics... wow. Again, read my posts, I dot all day long with gut on my vanguard... and keep 3,4 even once 5 persons from capping when I die and come back to do it all over again. How is this tactics?
  7. While what you say is true, dots and it preventing people from capping don't really take into effect during big zerg vs zerg fights. It's those micro fights when it's 2v1 and 3v1 that this dot mechanic seems broken.

  9. Dotting everyone and defending a node while you're dead is easy mode.
  10. lol having more than 8 people in a wz is definitely broken... but so is my tanky *** vanguard being able to prevent 3-4 people from capping up to 15 seconds after my death (and surviving through all the stuns and damage mind you), using my gut ability, by which time I am already there again to do it all over. Look, I do it all the time because my vanguard class allows this and I still think it's broken.
  11. A lone dotter, dotting 4 people to defend a node after his/her death node is not strategy. It's a broken mechanic. And besides, I am not asking for a nerf to dots. **** DOT away for all I care but don't let it interrupt capping for the full duration.
  12. Why add adrenal when you can just have the first few ticks prevent from capping and that's that? If you add another item that removes dots, makes dispels kind of useless. I hope bioware sees this is a problem and fixes it.
  13. Uh... does that mean every time we want to cap a point you have to send 2 people? That makes it less dynamic doesn't it? Less tactical? yea... ok. Again, you're missing the point.
