  1. I have no idea if this one has ever been brought up because I don't pay much attention to the general forums, but is it possible to revert back to how the PVP terminal/missions used to operate? i.e. We used to be able to see the tasks required to complete the different dailies and weeklies and could cherry-pick the ones we wanted to run. When I select missions from the terminal now I have no idea if they're unranked, solo ranked, or group ranked, so I pick them all up and then get rid of the ones I don't want to run. I'm not sure why this change was implemented, but I think it is really inconvenient picking up PVP missions now. Thanks BioWare!
  2. So I know these things are essentially a gamble, and if we choose to gamble we get what we get. No problem there. That said, can we up the drop rate for gold items, please? I opened a whole Revenge pack hypercrate last night and didn't get a single gold drop, so it seems to me that gold is just a bit too rare. Should have gotten at least one or two out of 30 packs, IMO. Silver, bronze and platinum are just right though. It's just those pesky golds.
  3. I really like these designer notes that explain the thinking behind each individual change. You're getting good at this, Musco!
  4. Hello all, Not sure if anyone is interested, but Episode 16 of Passionately Casual Podcast is out, featuring among other things an interview with GSF enthusiasts Vexxial and Yallia of the Shadowlands Reconnaissance Wing guild. We figured we'd share the link in case anyone was interested in checking it out and in joining the conversation Sechari
  5. I wrote an article on my website about this very thing. Check it out here if you're interested.
  6. Not sure if anyone is interested, but I've published a new article to my website about guild events and other player-generated group content. Find the article here. Comments/thoughts/feedback welcome. Thanks all
  7. By all means, unsub if you want to. My post was more about retooling our strategy if we want change and not being so downright nasty while we're going about it. Right now we're moaning on the forums and are bashing Bioware, SWTOR, players who come out to say it's not so bad, etc., and how's it working for us? There are people who are paying the $15 a month and are just raid logging for now. Perfectly legit. And their metrics show up in front of Bioware saying they are willing to pay $15 a month for the raiding but not the story. So I'm not advocating charity, but I am trying to get my mind around speaking to them in a language they understand. I think his point is to question our assumption, Roccobb, that an MMO requires PVP and end-game raiding to be legitimately called an MMORPG. He's right that nowhere is it written that an MMORPG MUST HAVE element X, element Y, and element Z to be considered an MMORPG. All it means is that it is a "massively-multiplayer" RPG: An awful lot of people online who can play an RPG together. But to your point, what we do together is the next question, yes. What we do in an MMO together makes it either worth it or not worth it. His point is that WoW has set a certain baseline standard in our expectations that it should have raiding and PVP, but nowhere is raiding and PVP in the definition. Does that make sense? You'll notice the RP guys aren't freaking out because they make up their own content using the same tools of being in an RPG environment together. The fleet trolls aren't complaining because they're in it for the chatroom aspect, again using the RPG environment and the multiplayer aspect to get what they want out of it. I'm talking in circles now, but I hope you see my point.
  8. I experienced an instance of this recently not in the KotFE story, oddly enough, but in the regular Sith Warrior story line on Belsavis. There you take out Darth Ekkage with the help of Somminick Timmns, a Jedi master. I was able to force Timms to have to make the very decision you are talking about, and he opted to kill her for the greater good -but he was still conflicted about it and knew it would be something he would have to deal with forever (until I took him out too, of course). But I get what you are saying, Squirrel. Bioware prides themselves on good story. I want to see some complexity! That's one of the things I love about George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thones) series. Characters are never inherently good or evil. There is only self-interest, and they do things for a myriad of reasons that often earn them reputations that are either deserved or undeserved. I agree with this. Like you guys I would love to see them do this wherever possible (like with this pending warzone map). But posting content to the PTS for quality assurance testing also severely deflates the hype, which they are now depending on greatly to drive interest in the game -and by that I mean subscribership. I am glad to see some agreement with the gist of my post, actually (who wouldn't, right?) even if it comes as a reaction to what someone else said contrary to my opinion. One thing American Idol Rewind taught me is that people can seriously struggle with self-deception and a lack of a sober-minded grip on reality. Constructive criticism, I feel, is helpful. good-spirited feedback for the purpose of improving the game and avoiding pitfalls. In that sense, even the vitriol-filled posts can be helpful. As they say, "Just because I throw you a fish, it doesn't mean you have to eat the bones." But there is just no need for the rage, in my opinion, no matter how invested a player is. I AGREE WITH THE FRUSTRATION. I am just pointing out the spirit. People need to relax. I am an SWG refugee like many here. I have seen how bad it can get. SWTOR has many things to enjoy and focus on even if a dry spell in a given area is prevalent, bug fixes included.
  9. In my opinion, "...or other commercial activities" implies that all of the aforementioned items are commercial in some way. You are right that my post was "promotional messaging" in that I wanted to put an article I had written out there ABOUT SWTOR and gather some feedback. As to it being commercial in nature, I don't make a dime from blogging and podcasting about SWTOR. Maybe my stream makes $10 every few months, but that's always a tip from a kind-hearted individual (meaning I offer my stream for free), and the tip is always channeled into giveaways. I don't see how that is commercial in nature. Regardless, if the forum moderators consider my post against the forum terms of service, let them remove it. I won't be offended one bit if it is against the rules. Anyway, I need to go back and look at what you all are saying. I'll comment myself here in a bit.
  10. Just posted the following new article on my website: http://www.iamsechari.com/2016/01/30/salt-in-the-kotfe-are-we-just-hurting-ourselves/ Drop by and let me know your thoughts. Thanks, all!
  11. ... I'm looking for a guild on the Imperial side that has a decent name (I hate a crappy name hanging over my head with terrible grammar or misspellings) and has a decent online population during prime hours. There are too many dead guilds out there and I'm hoping not to have to find a living one after months of trial and error. I'm hoping to join a fun group of friends who enjoy hanging out, really. Casual is awesome, and I'm happy to join you on any of the voice chat services. I'm okay with leveling, PVP, raiding or whatever kind of guild you happen to be (though I'm not at a point in my life right now where I can commit to a raid team, I may end up joining back in eventually). I'm on Twitch pretty frequently streaming under the name Sechari for the fun of it (though I am just now coming back from a hiatus this summer), so your guild is likely to get some air time from that. I also frequently recruit people that roll by my stream, so that's a bonus. Anyway, just looking for something fun and alive. I founded and have been leading Vindictive for a while now, but the guild has recently lapsed into inactivity due to my absence this summer.
  12. Yeah, these forums definitely need an upvote feature
  13. While I don't play a Marauder/Sentinel right now and have nothing constructive to add to this conversation, I did want to take a second to issue MAJOR kudos to Bioware on including the community on this one. Don't know if it's happened before, probably has, but this is what I love to see between a game company and its player base. Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside
  14. Hi KeisarChad, A few minutes ago I received a new user notification from the website, but that's really just signing up for an account on the website that allows you to post on the forums and such. If you're looking to apply to the guild through the website, please go here. Though that's just a way we set up for people to be able to notify us they'd like to be invited from our website. No need to fill it out since you said something here on the forums That said, I can jump in game now, if you're interested. What's your character name? You'll receive an invite from Sechari.
