  1. By the time i joined DRAMA the competition was so fierce and every team could win against anybody. I think this was because: > Top teams had players playing since release that reached a certain high skill level. Let's face it, this game is for casuals and the skill cap is not that high, especially 2 years after release with very little class balance. > Almost zero class balance changes (few changes to the meta-game) > Most importantly, the ability to respec inside WZ's allowed teams to 'turtle' certain maps that felt they could have a disadvantage at, making games 'look' more competitive. Many maps suffered because of this. > Since 1.2 we only had one new WZ map. Almost every possible tactic for every map has been exhausted since then with teams now having the knowledge as to what works and what doesnt. Another point is that certain maps dont offer themselves for creative (fancy) tactics. > With the introduction of Bolster, Min-Maxing your gear to perfection did not have the same effect (excluding some obvious mod/enhancement changes). Also it gave the ability for teams to try different setups 'faster'. > Server Transfers helped the ranked scene in a big way > Macros? :D:D Having played with and against Warmongers i feel like its pointless comparing the times where ranked just came out with the current state of the game now. Just my 2cents;)
  2. To be fair, if it bothers you then yes, don't queue anymore without the perfect composition It wouldn't really matter if you queued with 3 commando healers or your dream setup, you would get trashtalked either way since you started this on his stream.
  3. Lets see what this self proclaimed major pvp update brings to ranked play and specifically the more hardcore pvp crowd: +Arenas (3 maps but at the end of the day you have the same objective on all 3 of them and that is to kill the other team in a best of three). Can anyone see this getting repetitive anytime soon? I have been quing every day for arenas on PTS and the teams are getting less n less by the day. +New pvp gear. I am not even sure if i should have listed this given how bolster is still bugged as hell (pve gear ftw). -The ability for pvpers to complete their dailies through ranked group arenas. -8v8 ranked warzones. Many pvp guilds are suffering because of this, people are leaving to form smaller groups and some guilds even disbanded already. +- Class Changes. Affecting both pvp and pve but since release we had so few we just don't know what to expect. In addition, lets look at what we can expect in terms of pvp in the near future: -Removing the F2P restriction for entering the Warzones : I just cant see any hardcore pvper (given that if you want to queue with a group for ranked arenas you have to be a subscriber) being affected by this. -Additional Arena map coming soon! : In my opinion, another arena map does not stop arenas from becoming repetitive and maybe boring because of no real competition. -New Hutball Warzone where everyone can enjoy in a casual environment with no real tactics involved because of ranked warzones being removed. Finally, i just want to say that these are my personal views and comments on whats coming for PvP. You dont have to agree with any of the points mentioned above, just expressing my disappointment:)
  4. And i completely agree with you..it might not, one can only speculate at this point. However, the only criticism going around these forums is about the game graphics as if SWTOR is an MMO to take an example from (on how to make good graphics work in endgame, especially PvP)
  5. People said that about WoW 10 years ago and look where it is now and look where SWTOR is 15 months after release. My point is, some people play MMOs for the actual content and combat gameplay that comes at the end game before making a decision and not disregard them right away because of a cartoon theme. Yes, cool graphics would be a bonus but look what cool graphics and a sucky engine did to SWTOR...we cant have OWPvP, no warzones with more than 8v8 and bugs everywhere.
  6. lol bolster, everyone was complaining about it on PTS and they released it on its exact state live..didnt even make a single change to it.
  7. I think each team will have a specific number of respawn points (depending on if ur playing 2v2, 3v3 or 5v5) and if the arena timer runs out the team with the most respawn points (i.e the team that died less) gets the win.
  8. your wrong. http://torwars.com/2013/05/09/opinion-despite-subscriptions-under-half-a-million-improved-revenues-means-a-bright-future-for-swtor/ and this was before their 'Summer SWTOR' blog
  9. game has 500k subs compared to 8.5m of wow? saying is the 2nd most popular mmo, while being true, is an overstatement
  10. Yeah everyone seems fine with a pvp update after 8 months, sorry.
  11. So 2.4 should be expected early October? Between October and December Elder Scrolls and Wildstar will be coming out..so how good do you think one patch will be to stop people from moving to these new MMOs? especially wildstar that will have 2v2, 3v3,5v5, rated bgs, warplots and cross-server qs. Best case scenario that the pvp patch is everything u dream of...are u prepared to possibly wait another 8 months before the next pvp patch ?
  12. Not when they still have a subscription model in place that requires you to pay $15 per month for what exactly? and dont go on about the F2P model cause we all know thats another failure on their part
  13. Yeah but when a MAJOR Game update 2.2 has 4 bullet points as its main features and 2 of those are further guild XP bonuses and unified fleet chat then someone with half a brain can understand this is not the major content update that it was hyped to be. Also, as many people stated before me...nightmare mode for the majority here does not count as new content. Oh and crafting Underworld gear...a set thats already in game is hardly anything new and exciting.
