  1. As with others, I have been asked to give a two week impression of my time in the Pax Gaming Community thus far. I have been having a good time with these people. The Imp and Pub guilds are active, the players are friendly, drama seems to be completely non existent, and there are many other games to branch into should you enjoy your initial experience here. I find the the Republic side to be very focused on questing and leveling at the moment, and the empire side has more Operation groups and PvP happening at any given time. Just depends on your gaming style.
  2. Necrosia, it looks like there are only two possibilities. 1) As mentioned before, Torpedos act like missles in the interface. The loaded torpedo does not count towards your reserve total, and you have four. How you are only destroying three generators with four torpedos is puzzling, but there it is. 2) You are telling the truth, and you are only able to equip and fire three torpedos, leaving you unable to complete the mission. If this is the case, then this is a bug. Submit a detailed report, then avoid the mission until the bug is fixed. Cheers. To be fair, I have not attempted the mission myself, nor have I gotten the Torpedo launcher. However, even the tooltip on the torpedo launcher mentions it loads with four torpedos, so..
  3. Another combo to consider for AoE'ing tightly knit trash packs is: Plasma Grenade > Sticky Grenade > Hammer Shot cleanup. Casting both these abilities in quick succession drops you to around 6 ammo, but since the panic effect from Plasma mezzes non-heroic trash, followed by the knockdown of the Sticky Grenade, you have 5 - 6 seconds of free DPS time without reprisal, with the enemies mostly dead. Alternatively, you can Hail of Bolts instead of Hammer Shot, you'll just have to reload after the smoke clears.
  4. Look forward to seeing more of this guide developed. And that is exactly what it is, a guide, not the be-all-and-end-all / last-say on all things commando. I'll read this, I'll read others, and I'll formulate my own opnions through experience. Hopefully the other elitists who view this will take a second and check their egos at the door and pitch in some useful advice/links/feedback.
  5. There are a few of us Vancouver-ites on The Harbinger server, West Coast PvE, in three Republic different guilds: Killer Bunnies, Jedi Paternity Tests Inc, and Wolf Squadron. Cannot speak for KB or JPT, but Wolf Squaron is not an all Canadian guild by any means, but we in Wolf Squadron are a decent group of people. Philosophy here: ND2 Community Policy
  6. Having a blast. This is a linear game, but that is how stories unfold, through a progression of dialogue and events in a rollercoaster fashion. If one ignored all that the devs were saying, and the allusions to a Mass Effect style experience, and were expecting a sandbox game, well, you set yourself up for disappointment, with no fault to Bioware. That being said, so far, the game is exactly how I thought it would be, and I love it. I am totally here for the Bioware experience in story telling, while battling and negotiating in the name of the light for the Republic. Having a group of great friends along for the ride also adds a ton of satisfaction to the experience. Cannot wait to delve deeper into the story line. And I have my ship! So cool. And just wait for the alts.. seven more unique stories! We are getting closer to holonovels..
  7. The sentiment is admirable, and I am sure the multiple guilds and communities that have signed the charter are upstanding members to the respectful-gamer-ideal. Just curious how you guys react to players that are definitely not worthy of respect. The charter outlined above seems to be all-inclusive, that every player should be treated with courtesy and respect, no matter their temperment. I am talking about Joker-archetype characters: the die hard trolls, the body snatchers, the backstabbers, the angries, the drama kings/queens, watch the world burn, etc. Do you always turn the other cheek and give the guys/gals a second chance should you meet such a character again? Or do you /block, /ignore, turn your back and cut that character out your gaming experience?
  8. Vancouver, BC.. and at work. Got to play for two hours this morning, though!
  9. I am in the exact same boat. Don't you hate being the responsible adult and being at work like a good little automaton? At least we got to reserve our names on server! I got the one I wanted, at least.
