  1. You can also unlock him for 350 cartel coins on any character after you have him.
  2. Ok that was interesting. My computer clock was off by 7 minutes. I synched it with time.windows and the game launcher launched fine right after that. Which means that the launcher is very time/date sensitive and if one is off it will lock out the launcher from connecting to the login service.
  3. Doesn't surprise me. However this is the first time i've ran into this issue and nothing I do seems to resolve it. I guess it doesn't help that I had a power outage just before it started happening and all my computers security information for websites is also gone as well (another pain in my arse). Even flushing the DNS cache isn't working to clear it up.
  4. Really. Game launcher says go to the forums for information because the login service is unavailable and yet.... there is no information on the forums for same.... Really.... Honestly I am getting tired of the ineptitude of EA/Bioware.
  5. Just an addendum to my note. I just AOE'd a group of flagged Imperials on Ilum and did NOT get flagged. Mind you, I did my AOE atack w/o having a flagged player targetted, but having the mob targetted. I haven't tried aoe with a flagged player targetted yet. My PvPrs sources say that having a flagged player targeted and THEN aoeing would flag me so.... Make sure the mob you are fighting is not the enemy player? problem solved?
  6. Um.. dude. I'm BH geared Commando and ran all of Ilum (non heroics), all of Belsavis (regular non heroics) and all of The Black Hole dailies (non heroics) and my repair bill was under 6k total for al three planets. If you claim your repair was 35k for one planets dailies then frankly.... I'm calling BS on you, especially as my NON BH geared 50 Vanguard just finished Belsavis dailies with a total repair cost of 1353 credits (all her gear moddable and all lvl 50 purple mods btw). Frankly, while the repair bills are more expensive, I am not seeing the costs you guys are claiming. Even after wiping on Xeno a few times my repair bill was still under 50k and I made that back and then some just off the event dailies.
  7. Here is the thing. You used an AOE in an open world area even though you are on a PvE server. While it's lame the cloaky guy was hiding there waiting for you to aoe so he could kill you (technically griefing) there is something you CAN do to prevent this from happening. Turn off all of your companions AOE abilities and don't use yours on any planet that is Open World ( Republic side, Narr Shadaa on, not sure about Empire side). You really don't reduce your damage output that much by not using an AOE in those areas. This immediately removes any chance you may get flagged by using them. Now then, in instances.. use them all you want, you are relatively safe there. While I agree with the poster right after yours that BW should make it so a non flagged persons skills don't damage a flagged person at all, and they shouldn't be able to heal them or buff them either, that isn't how the current world works, so in the mean time, we adjust our play to suit our environment. It's not that much of an inconvenience really. Now then, from BW's perspective, you are using an area effect damage skill so anything in that area should take damage if it's an enemy. I can see where they are coming from on that, even if I would prefer that the ONLY way you can get flagged for PvP is to deliberately turn PvP on manually. I personally think they should make it so no heals, no buffs, no damage, can be taken by a flagged person, from a non flagged person. That will eliminate PvE players getting flagged by PvP pansies on PvE servers.
  8. The problem is, it isn't an exploit (working as intended per the Developrs). He is making the choice not to take the precautions he needs to take to avoid getting ganked in the PvE areas, and complaining about having to do 2 quest in the PvP areas because he doesn't want to PvP but wants to do the quests in the PvP area (that's kinda a no brainer, don't go into the PvP area.. duh). He refuses to stop using AOE's to prevent himself from being flagged. He refuses to stop accepting the PvP quests and going into the PvP area to do them, he refuses to accept the game mechanics of the game as they are and adjust HIS gameplay to suit the environment he is in. Instead he comes here and whines and cries about it instead of playing within the bounds of the game.
  9. Great now I can log my 47 in and go fight my way into the Gree Starship to turn in my quest.
  10. Walter........... Welcome to Walmart, get your **** and get out.
  11. hey now... don't go tossing Virgins into the mix. They are better used in more um.. entertaining ways, than feeding to the BioWare Trolls.
  12. I normally don't bother checking for patches until Maint is over. I just got bored and decided to this time LOL. besides... Godsmack is a good album to play SW:TOR to.. I was.. hoping for an early restart XD.
  13. Well, the patch is available but the servers are still down.
  14. Gasp... but.. but... Saitada is my TROLL character (just do a search on the PWI forums.. which I am perma banned from... for trolling the community manager with a *cough* really pornographic website).
  15. yeah.. it's our fault when.. the only thing that has changed on our systems is their patch.... but it's obviously our fault. I had a BW drone tell me it was probably a setting on my computer. By the time I was through with him he was sputtering and backtracking and apologizing. Hard to blame the computer when this rig ONLY gets used for SW:TOR and forum trolling and the only update to it was a patch from SW:TOR. No issues prior to the patch but issues after the patch ergo, it was their patch. It also doesn't pay to try and tell me it's my computer when I build the damn things and know exactly what is on my system and what it's doing to the nth degree.
  16. I would drink a beer except... I am out and the stores don't sell after midnight here. Plus, I've already had a cpl so... i'd have to walk (I refuse to drink and drive, even if I have only had 1 beer) and well... I'm too lazy to bother even if I could pick up a 12 pack LOL.
  17. meh. I live in Hawai'i so while I am normally up to play, I get Maint as well. Kinda sucks for me so I feel your pain.
  18. Hey TonyMoreno. How about posting updates in a timely fashion, you know, like at least an hour before your obviously incompetent developers decide to actually do your maint so we have at least 'some' warning instead of the 15 minute countdown timer suddenly kicking in and then you posting this crap 9 minutes after the fact. You guys show your utter and total lack of any competence in the MMO field by doing things like this. I won't even get into the fact that you EDITED the original message about the maint from 10am CST to pretend it was 5am the entire time. Sheer, Utter Incompetence.
  19. yeah they updated that message from 10am to 5am, just a cpl minutes ago. Honestly, I have seen some screwed up MMO's before, but I swear bioware takes the cake for lack of communication and frankly.. being ran by a group of amateurs. I thought CCP (EVE Online) was bad with lack of timely communications but bioware makes them look like timely Tina's in comparison.
  20. Um, actually. They do. I used to have a cpl of characters in THE JEDl ORDER before I left and created my own guild. They have a lot of actives and when I went on gaming binges of 20+ hour stretches, I rarely saw less than 20 characters online at any one time and usually saw 40+ regularly, and no, they were not the same 40+ people. Their sister Trooper guild is much the same, as well as their Empire side guilds. Have a Nice Day. Cupcake.
  21. I'm saying, I don't see the problem. It's not difficult to make credits in this game. Nor is the amount of time to make credits in this game egregious compared to other games. The only ones I see crying are the special Cupcakes who want everything handed to them w/o having to do any back effort to get it. I'm from the good old Eq1 days when Hell Levels still existed before people like you whined and got them removed. When making Plat in the game took effort and time. Raids have always been expensive. Wipes have always been expensive. Corpse Runs were a real pain, till people wined and SOE added the cemetery. As they systematically removed the things in the game that made the game an actual challenge the game became easier and easier and those of us who played for the challenge, left to find games that were more challenging. Sadly in this day and age, most of the games out there have little to no actual challenge to an experienced player like myself, and all I see when I see people screaming about having to actually do some back work to get what they want, is a bunch of self entitled babies who are so used to having everything handed to them on a silver platter from other games that they get upset when God Forbid, they actually have to put some effort into this game to get what they want. Not, mind you, that this game takes any real effort to do either, it's pablum at it's worst. Only reason I'm even playing it is I like the SW IP and wish this game was about 10 times harder than it currently is.
