the lvl 40 pvp tank gear is called TT-15a republic assault. iirc it doesnt have any set bonus but it does have def/shield/absorb on it edit 1: the republic assault gear lasted me tili started getting champ pieces at lvl 50, this is of course with upgrading the mods slot in it with newer/better mods along the way. i highly suggest taking the time to get the set since i think it took me like 4-5 hours of playing WZ's to get it.

im using a dps relic belt boots and ears so its not like im not trying to gear for threat and defense stats. right now i think i have 15% crit 38% shield 36% absorb 50% dr 12% defense

thats exactly the conclusion i came to aswell, but he insisted that my threat sucked, so i had to find out for myself since there wasnt anything i can think of other than him not watching his dps/threat gen considering i had him guarded, was using all of my high threat abilities as soon as there CD's were up and taunting when i needed to. of course every good tank should question his/her self just as much as an other player. i hope they include this in a patch once enough data is compiled for them to know how to fix it. i dont have a problem 90% of the time and honestly the other 10% i suspect is the dps's fault or a combination of the two.

Last night i ran the Battle of Ilum hard-mode and throughout the flashpoint i was having issues with my threat. i don't know what it was, my Cd's were kept on Cd i was making use of every stock strike but yet the guardian in my group constantly stole aggro especially on the third boss. i know the boss resets aggro from time to time so i figured it was just him not letting me get the first punch but every single time we did that boss he would pull aggro. i guess I'm just wondering what i could do better so as to not have this happen again. I'm not a newb to tanking, for the last 7-8 years Ive MT'd in wow, lotro, and war hammer with 0 issues.

to answer your question i would say both, im tactics as well and have the supercommando and eliminator accessories. it depends on what wz your playing(in huttball i use commando and everything else eliminator).

Great vid, showed some stellar tactics in those 1v2's. overall the movie reminded me of old vanilla wow world pvp vids in silithus/brm(which is a GOOD thing). i enjoyed the minimal effects in the video was more like the fights were the showcase which tends to not happen often these days.

at lvl 46 ive got elara and me in the lvl 40 pvp sets and jorgan in some hand me down orange and blues, i mostly stick with her for everything except stuff i out level for the sole fact that i never have downtime, ive found its almost the same amount of time for both of them except with elara i just chain kill groups all day and with jorgan i have to reload after every 1-2 pulls which is a pita sometimes. as for the others they've never been out except if im forced to use them since their gear is way below mine and forex/vik are tanks. im also an armormech so vik comes in handy for missions.

honestly i thought that fight was awesome,i had a group of 2 32's(tank/healer) me at lvl 35 and another dps at 34, we wiped 3 times before we figured out the right strategy. imo this was one of the funnest/most engaging boss fight in any mid level instance i have ever done. the challenge was there and it needed a strategy to beat besides the wow method of face rolling until loot drops.
