With 4.0 quite a few changes were implemented to the Companions System. And while most of them are great (change of role, the large pool of allies to choose from), one feature of the old Companions System I really liked was almost fully removed - the uniqueness of our companions in battle.
For me, as a fan of the story, the diversity in the companions' abilities and the direct connection of those to the personal story of the companion(Nadia's Wild Energy, Temple's Force Push, Vette's cool gunslinger animations, Bowdaar's Wookiee Toss etc.), was really a key feature of the game which allowed me to fully enjoy the Companions system. It provided me with an incentive to play with all of my companions, as well as to level characters of different classes to discover their companions' unique abilities. With the new system I often feel that I have lost a part of my companions and their story.
Therefore I ask you to please consider bringing those unique abilities and animations back. As all companions are equal now you could only change the animations of the abilities to fit the companion's story in order to restore the uniqueness we lost with 4.0. Another solution would be a sixth companion ability slot which will include the companion's "story" ability and will be the same for all roles.
I know it is a small thing but for me it really changes the way I perceive the story and the level at which I enjoy it.
