  1. I currently have a level 52 Trooper on Makeb, and I'd like to have another toon of mine (a level 17 Jedi Knight) wear some of the "Republic Loyalist" gear from the previous mentioned planet. My plan is to eventually get enough Reputation points with my trooper to buy said gear (without equipping it), then send it to said Jedi. Can this be done?
  2. When I saw an article about "Shadow Optimizations"," I was excited. Then I read the article. To make a long story short, I've found that for me, the best option is to play with shadows on during the outdoor periods, and then turn them to "low" (i.e. the only shadows are little circles at the characters' feet) during the indoor parts (including city-planets like Coruscant and Nar Shaddaa.) (On a side note, when I first got the game, shadows went from "High" to "Low" or "Off" instantly. Now it takes a reloading of the entire screen. This is improvement ... how?) So when I heard all the talk about "everything will cast dynamic shadows" and how the shadows will be rounded, my heart sank as I can only dread the extra processor power that will take, and the subsequent frame rate loss. On the topic of shadows, I would have recommended some much different ideas, such as "1.5 shadows" for the terrain in the "medium" shader settings, trying to get the current "high" shadows , or things like that. Blocky terrain shadows are better than no terrain shadows at all. Please don't make us non-uber-end users have to choose between shadowed terrain and playability!
  3. YES! I'm doing the IA storyline (Operative) again, and this fight frustrates me! I'm an Operative (mostly majoring in Concealment) and I don't know what's going wrong. I've got two interrupts (Deblilitate and Flashbang) but their cooldown times are just too long. I've tried walking around the computer consoles, but nothing seems to help! What am I doing wrong?
  4. I'm wondering if anyone else out thre wonders if there's a way to reconcile the storyline in the game with the family trees we've all been coming up with in the Legacy system. My idea that I've been going on is to have my IA end up being the father of my Commando and Gunslinger toons. Those two, in turns, might be fathers of Jedi characters I have yet to roll. Now, it seems pretty obvious that Bioware didn't intend the in-game timeline to span several generations when they wrote the game. I managed to ignore that discrepancy for the most part, until ... So, what do you think of the event/Legacy discrepancies. I know you could make some crackpot excuse involving time travel ("My BH had two kids. One walked into a mysterious blue box. The other accidentally built a flux capacitator into his speeder.") but given the thought into which some players have given to their Legacy history back stories, this is not the universal answer...
  5. I bought the game in January, and only recently managed to get my Trooper (whom I started the game with) to level 50. Granted, I gave up the game for Lent, so that's minus 40 days, but still... Been playing my IA for a bit, and and now 2 levels behind (I'm level 34, and my story mission is level 36). This is probably due to the fact that I try to avoid anti-Republic or pro-evil missions (and everything on Taris seems to be "Hey, let's do something bad to thwart the Republic's colonization of Taris!" ) Continue the missions or do more hunting? Ah, that's the rub...
  6. Playing as an Imperial Agent, I've had the dubious luck of getting to my class quests somewhat ahead of schedule. Currently my mission is to: but it's a level 32 mission, and I've just managed to get to 31. What do you think I should do - should I try and complete the mission a level early, or just try and grind through Alderaan until I hit the needed level? (This has happened to me before - IIRC on Tatooine the quests were ahead of my level, despite the fact I had completed the story quests up to that point, so I went around Nar Shadda fighting criminals and all that so I could get to where I needed to be.) What do you think?
  7. I know what you mean - I'm currently playing an Imperial Agent (who's supposed to be the my Republic Trooper's future father) and he's gotten the assignment That's the problem when MMORPG quests tread upon the same ground - which one is right?
  8. Anyone know where I can find the Renegade Assault Cannon? It's got the look of my current cannon, but with a red paint scheme that would go wonderfully with my trooper's red-and-white armor. I got a similar-looking one as a drop earlier, but it wasn't modifiable. Can anyone help me here?
  9. OK, I'm a level 41 male Commando and I have yet to complete the main Hoth quest.
  10. I'm currently playing a Commando (level 31, getting toward 32) on Alderaan and I'm stuck on the aforementioned mission. Elara's basically the only companion I've upgraded, so I'm taking her along, and I can get into the compound and take out the soldiers on the generator level - even the mega-HP Commander. (I do always make sure he's alone when I fight him, though.) It's just when I have to defend the generator that I fail. I've tried it several times and each time I die! Could anyone help me with this phase? (And yes, I know each wave comes from the opposite side of the room as the previous one...)
  11. Without getting into all the arguments regarding an appearance tab, I have to say ... BioWare, please, please, please bring back the color tab (i.e. the "anti-clown" button). Ever since I bought the game and started my Trooper, I've wanted armor that was red or red-trimmed. When I found a fellow trooper on a similar level to myself with such a chestpiece, I wondered how the heck he got it. Eventually (through a friend) I realized that it was only obtainable through the notorious Trouble in Deed quest (man, those Justicars really hate that business guy, don't they?). So, one Saturday morning, I took on that quest with the help of a few Jedi who wanted to go through the quest as well, and eventually obtained my desired chestpiece. Afterwards, however, I have had to discard several pieces of armor due to the fact that they clashed with my red-and-white chestplate. (All right! Those armored gloves will look gr- what?! They're trimmed in "green!") In my search for better armor that didn't look clownish, I undertook the Armormesh skill (well, once I heard you might be able to make armor similar to what I wanted) and have been desperately scavenging places for aluminum, desh and whatnot, all in a desperate quest for good leg and hand armor that, if not red, is at least only black-and-white. (It's especially frustrating since the higher you go up in Armormech, the more complicated pieces you have to make to increase your level, and I do not like the thought of scouring Coruscant again for more aluminum. Or other materials...) This problem could all be solved quite easily, if Bioware would just bring back that button... (While I do think they should have gone with color customization for everyone, I myself would simply be satisfied if they just reinstated the "anti-clown" button.)
