Anyone know if you need to have a level 50 in order to claim the free day or no?
No, everyone gets the free day, regardless of your character levels.
-
It's coming at some point, the devs stated that are the Guild Summit.
-
I was gonna map my UI roughly the same with some minor differences, though did not had the time yesterday due to raid, and did not want to change it moments before i had to engage major combat that was unknown to me and made me confused cause of my new layout.
So i guess i will be doing this tonight after everything is back up.
I'd like to see if i can fit a properly sized readable chat window in the bottom left corner though, thats pretty much the only big difference my UI will have from what you picked.
Though where did you place your "Target of Target" ?

The free month and free day show that the coffers are full enough to sustain it through these tricky times, which shows they are both confident in their playerbase as it stands, and confident that subscriptions will continue.
Also time is not meted out by a company in the same way you work it out. A free day costs nothing to EA/BW, it just steps back a payment by one day.
A free month does cost, but at the same time, they can easily take that hit.
I like how they are finally giving everyone what they want, and still people are wadding up their knickers.
Never looked at it from that perspective, i suppose as you say they are confident enough to give people 30 days of free play, so one would assume they can easily take that hit.
I suppose it indicates they are doing better then people are thinking.
Though it could also indicate the opposite, but i have my doubts about that

Yeah definitely. For every active/populated server there are probably 2 dead ones. I've noticed everyone has been flocking to more populated servers lately in an attempt to get better WZ queue times, more people to group with for dungeons, etc. Either way, the fact that people are migrating to more populated servers is a solemn sign that servers need to be merged.
On the guild summit they mentioned that there were no plans for server merges.
However character transfers was something in the works, i'm gonna assume this will be free for at least the low populated servers.
It seems a better idea then server merges as it would give you more freedom to pick a destination.

try $.50
Even better!
(If i bothered to use simple math i would have known this, shame on me, but either way you get the general idea)
-
It's not that. This would be the first time I've posted/read the General Forums so I don't base my belief on various QQ quitting threads that I've never seen. Just general server population decline, at least 70% of my friends list inactive. When they announced 1.7 million players there were constantly 250-300 people in the fleet during peak time. Now it's about 60 in the fleet during peak.
On my server (Hidden Becks) we had about 300 people on the fleet yesterday.
I guess it depends per server, for mine at least being one of the more populated ones, i noticed an increase in player activity.
-
I doubt the game has 1.7 million players anymore.
Yeah cause all the people that complain on the forums and claim they are quitting make up a vast majority of the player base.
-
Woohooo, they are refunding us a dollar we oh so value and are in desperate need of!.
Honestly, they did not have to do this, yet they did, kudo's for trying to handle the situation properly tbh.
-
I don't see them doing a server merge anytime soon, if at all.
Though there was some talk about character transfers at the Guild Summit, which is a more likely to come (i assume for free for some if not all servers as a 1 time thing) giving you more freedom as to where you wish to go.

I think it's best to let the most active of the 2 CHARACTERS keep the name.
But only apply this rule if the less active character has not been active for more then xx hours in a month.
Example to clarify:
Player 1 has the name "Player"
Player 2 (on a different server) also has the name "Player"
Player 1 then transfers to Player 2's server.
Player 2 is forced to change characters name if the character was active less then 10 hours in 1 month.
Though if player 2's character was active for more then 10 hours in a month, i feel that Player 2 should be entitled to keep the characters name and force Player 1 in to a name change, as that is the person deciding to move to a different server in the first place.
I'd say the same concept should apply for Legacy names, and base that on Legacy activity.
As for other MMO's the concept usually was:
Force player who transfers to server in to a name change if name was taken on said server already.
That pretty much is the standard.

Nope, the day i'll quit this game will be the day i will be extremely bored of it. and play less then 1-2 times a week, and lose all will to log on.
-
in my mid 30's , love the movie and the lore.
does the game have problems.... yea a few,
being able to throw my saber across a room, and hear the classic *electric grind* sound as it rips a player down.
priceless.
thank you for making a game i can actually do that. it was on my bucket list.

I like the credit sinks, and it's not like no one will be able to afford it at some point.
Specially with repair costs cut by roughly 66%.
It's not like you are obligated to spend your credits on what mostly is vanity stuff.
-
The rollback never affected the character database, meaning every information stored on your character, it was only the world environment that was reverted.
-
Not sure yet, will probably go out instead or hangout at a friends place and do some good old console multiplay-gaming along with some alcohol and food in the mix.
Since I live in Europe, it's already 18:24 here

Dude, this was valid two months ago.
We're four months into it and on the second major patch, and they've executed this patch poorly. Words cannot describe the derpiness of the game right now.
I've experienced far worse, where things became unplayable for days after a patch.
We did not even have lag issues yesterday after the patch, with a lot of people returning to the game and logging on etc.
I know they screwed up the servers by accidentally rolling them back to the old world.
But it's not like the character DB was affected by it, our characters did not suffer a roll-back because of it.
To me it's just a day less that I will be able to play, It's a Friday night, so I will find something else to do. simple as that (for me at least)
As i said, i have experienced worse from more experienced companies. so i can live with this really.
That does not mean i like it though.

It kind of will considering they have tailored some of the hard mode encounters with a pretty quick enrage timer which might not be beatable now with a nerf to all dps.
Guess i'll find out tonight how much it will affect us "enrage timer" wise, will be doing 16 man nightmare tonight, so hopefully it will go well.
As long as we can still make the enrage timers it should all be fine.

FALCON PUNCH! not heard that one in a while lol.
This made my day, thank you.

One of my most joyable and funny moments back when leveling involving naked companions.
This is near the end of the Sith Warrior Class Quest Line.
-
Go out, do groceries, watch the new episode of House, and some other stuff =P
-
I do right now.
Though there is not that much to do on my main character at the moment, i do have to say that this is the first game where i actually enjoy LEVELING up an alt.
This has not happened for me in the past
I am eagerly waiting to see what the Devs have in store for us over a period of the next couple of month's, call it hope if you will.
The question of the month: Will you keep your subscription up? and why?

I will keep my sub up.
I like this game, simple as that.
