  1. Those that know me? I don't think anyone knows me anymore. My server perished long time ago and my guild had moved on to other games I don't like. I do not part take in any in-game stuff involving groups, guilds, etc. When I play I hop servers every once in a while to get a free rename and to keep low profile (all of those cartel coin grants). And when I can't play I'm a forum warrior. However I know of many people and see their deeds on the forums and in-game. However I understand why you're so hurt. Not everyone likes when someone doesn't praise their skill.
  2. No. The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 5 characters.
  3. I understand it's quite hard for you to admit and accept the truth. Would I be stupid enough to fan the flames in that case? Logic may not be one of your strong points, but I tend to believe it's one of mine. My work requires digging for the facts and it's something I enjoy so I should thank you for your stream, it helped me to pass the time while travelling.
  4. Everyone can see through my bull? Oh... you mean facts based on evidence? Of course everyone can see those facts and verify them against the stream and your posts. Sadly my posts use facts and yours use imagination. Just in case you need to clarify for yourself what harassment is (just click and read, you might be surprised). Harassment is a repetitive behavior in case you didn't know and becomes one only after one party tells to the other party that they dislike certain behavior while other party continues to behave in unwanted way. Next - someone said something, so what? It's internet, grow a thicker skin it will do you good in real life. Also, based on how you ignore or twist facts in this thread when they are shoved in your face, as well as the fact that you can't produce a single piece of evidence, I don't think your word about someone harassing you can be really taken seriously. (Again refer to what harassment really means). Nobody in this thread tried to convince you about anything regarding me. After my first post in this thread Greezt made some irrelevant post, caederon suggested to act constructively and positively if possible (and he got my reply in PM), SeCKSEgai made the usual complaint about premades (doesn't look like he? bothered to watch the stream or pay attention to factual info) and aakrea gave you a reasonable suggestion. But please do point me to the post that tried to convince you about me. The only meaningless BS in this conversation is coming from you since you're trying to go against clear evidence (stream) of what happened on the imperial side with voice chat clearly captured. Keep denying it, I don't mind, you just showcase more and more why people shouldn't take you seriously. Now here are the corrections to remove BS coming from your wild imagination: 1. They never said anything about you being skilled players. 2. The only mistake that was made is the inclusion one 2 shipper from your guild as a pilot capable of fielding a bomber. 3. Your guild fielded 3 bombers (as can be seen on a stream) therefore it's irrelevant what your team got as average kills. Bombers do area denial not kills. Kills are the job of scouts and gunships. You were sitting on C all game and you weren't disturbed much, hence your low kills and damage and extremely high objective score. Why do you even bring up your damage and kills if you just ticked on the off-node? 4. Two other bomber from your guild did quite well considering they had close to 200 objective points each in addition to good number of assists and medals. Death count was also fairly low (both teams had approximately the same number of deaths). Unlike you they were where the action was or in other words B. 5. Combination of 3 bombers from your guild with bombers from the other 2 pilots (one of which did slightly worse and other did slightly better) was a significant contributing factor to your victory. People who played GSF for a while know quite well what can 5 bombers do in Domination game mode even when they are not very organized or geared. (Also in Domination it's not the side doing most damage and kills that would win. It's the side that controls the satellites.) 6. One of the people in the voice chat on the stream decided to talk to you. What was actually discussed remains unknown as you didn't provide any screenshots. If it was something so outrageous you would have taken screenshots and submitted them along with a ticket against the individual who spoke with you. If it was so bad and you are so sure that a punishment would have been handed out, you would have filed an official complaint right that moment. You tell us that you didn't do either. Why? If it was as bad as you want everyone to believe I'm sure there wold have been some official action from BioWare. Though, maybe it wasn't as bad as you're trying to make it look... that would explain no screenshots and no ticket filed. While one side made a mistake in thinking there were 4 bombers from your guild and there were 3 it doesn't change the fact that you tried to lie to everyone that you were The Only Bomber and I still don't see any apology from you about that lie. You called the entire GSF community toxic based on one interaction with someone and you can't even provide anything about it and you didn't even feel that filing a complaint was reasonable so you didn't. You insulted the entire community and I don't see any apology from you. As for what's accepted by the game and what's not - go read Rules of Conduct and EUALA, you will be surprised at your limited understanding. In terms of GSF community and disliking some individual pilots and focusing them down... Krixarcs!!!! Where are you??? I guess he's not around anymore. Get on a wrong side of a community by bomber-ticking or causing bombergedon or some other action/behavior that the community dislikes and no rule will keep you safe in the skies. I'm pretty sure each GSFer who's been around long enough has one or more names they will obliterate at any cost. So again... act the way you want to act, it doesn't change the facts.
  5. Aren't you a rare specimen... I never said that you were a dominant player, I just said that you (and your group) may not be as new and bad as you would like others to think. There is a big difference. You get 0 points for this attempt to twist my words. Your 2 kills and 2503 damage were explained well enough by the fact that you ticked in your bomber on the off-node the entire game while all the action was happening at B. Your 464 objective points provide sufficient proof of where you were all game. As a matter of fact some good players may have similar stats when they are guarding off-node that is not being attacked all game. Your attempt to use stats to prove your crippled point falls short. Moving on... the idiot here is not me, I just provided the analysis of the stream. You however qualify for the title since you're desperately trying to avoid real facts. Even this post you've made quoted and replied to not-very-important information instead of facts. You've repeatedly blew everything out of proportion and picked and twisted facts to present yourself in the best light possible (aka poor noob threatened by some big and scary thug who lost a game to your single bomber or GSF is filled with mean, toxic people because you had one questionable interaction). Considering this and how vague you're about the incident, I doubt that things happened exactly how you've described them. Just look at how saying "A bunch of new players, but how new are they?" turned into "you said I'm a dominant player" in a blink of an eye. As for opinions, give me a good reason why should I keep them to myself?. You don't bother keeping your opinions to yourself right? You accepted an apology, but have you given one in return? Of course you want to consider this matter over, since you just want to walk away looking clean with your head lifted high. How about apologizing for all the BS you've sprouted in the thread without anything to back it up (i.e. you being the only bomber in your group and short lived "snapshots" of your guildies using bombers before quickly dying)? How about properly apologizing to Maulkat and her group since they didn't send anyone to talk to you and in was done by a single individual out of his own volition? After that is done - feel free to move on.
  6. Looks like I've missed some GSF drama. Looking at the stream that was linked by someone, I see a different story here (I won't expand on the *****ty flying or it will take me forever, but it's funny to see L2P comments from a person with such low level of skill): First of all the fact that you say "you were the only one in a bomber" (meaning you probably Commandoar if you carefully watch the stream as you started in a bomber at 51:53). In reality, it's BS since we can see 2nd bomber Vartius at 53:57 who is your guildie; 3rd bomber at 55.24 who is a random and Vartius is still in a bomber since he has an active drone (at 56:02); your guilie Lairat went bomber as well at 56:26. (Holy S!it, it's been about 4.5 minutes from the start of the game and everyone on your team who could go bomber did so. Sounds legit to me, bro.) At 58:33 we can see 5 bombers, 3 of which are from your guild. Second - your guild group started with 2 tensor scout for domination, I'm sure it's a 100% new pilot behavior to start a domination match with double tensor scouts or is it? Something doesn't look right to me. Something that just screams at you, it's not a new player behavior. What could it be? Third - the reason why you didn't do much for damage was simply due to the fact that you just ticked your bomber under C all game. I hope you didn't expect to deal damage across the map? Your guildies did well enough as bombers since top damage spots went to a gunship and scouts who were actively dealing damage. Do you know the purpose of the bomber? Area denial. A bomber or group of bombers may not deal a single point of damage and turn the game by making other players reconsider going to a satellite fully covered in red orbs of death or providing chain of beacons to get back to the node. During the match in question there was someone (person #1) in that voice chat who was on the republic side and reacted to someone (person #2) saying about 5 bombers. Person #1 looked up in /who names of pilots in the match for republic side while other people on the stream were on the imperial side. People on voice chat compared the names of the bomber pilots and it was determined that too many bombers were from the same guild. (at 58:34 you can see team composition screen) Then this Person #1 offered to talk to that guild and warn them (probably about doing an all or close to all bomber group in addition to the bombers that were already there.) Person #2 said "only if you want to" I would assume it's the Person #1 who talked to Stellarcrusade. To me it didn't sound like he was angry in the voice chat, or overly concerned with the loss of people in that voice chat. It seems that he wasn't even in that game since he was able to look up the match on pub side while the match was still going. lol at those comments about raging noob switching sides... some people on this thread are stupid to the point of not being able to gather evidence placed in front of them. Of course it would be interesting to see the screenshots of the conversation in order to see the truth of it. Can you provide screenshots to prove your story? So far what I can see from this thread is: Stellarcrusade & Co. A bunch of new players, but how new are they? Assuming that they weren't subscribers when GSF came out (otherwise why would they try GSF only now?) they started with 2 ships. In addition to those 2 ships 3 out of 4 in that guild group had 3-5 purchased ships minimum. 5k fleet requisition grant for playing one game can explain 1-2 ships, but they've earned a good amount of fleet requisition to buy the rest of the ships. Let's take a look: Commador has T3 Strike(5k), T1 Bomber(2.5k), T2 Bomber(5k) = at least 7.5k of fleet requisition earned Laiarat has T3 Strike(5k), T1 Gunship (2.5k), T3 Scout (5k), T2 Bomber(5k), T1 Bomber(2.5k) = at least 15k of fleet requisition earned Vartius has T3 Scout (5k), T1 Gunship (2.5k), T1 Bomber(2.5k), T3 Strike(5k), T2 Bomber(5k) = at least 15k of fleet requisition earned To me those are not new pilots unless Fleet Requisition is now either free in crazy amounts or they were converting it with CCs and converting is not something a noob who's trying GSF will do (they probably won't be able to even find how to do it). Also, looking at this lineup of ships we can see a familiar pattern. 3 out of 4 people on Stellarcrusade's team have T1 Bomber and T2 Bomber. What a coincidence, or is it? To me it looks like a deliberate lineup to enable a bombargedon. I would love to know what was the first 2-3 ships purchased by Tira. I guess that will be 2 bombers to match the other 3 on the team. Stellarcrusade claims to win 1 out of 25-100 games (based on what he feels like at the moment). Sounds pretty unreal to me as even the bads that I know of have a higher W/L. Maybe he can provide us with a screenshot of his overall win rate to back up this amazing in its unrealness claim of 1-4% win rate. Stellarcrusade claims that this was because he went bomber while Maulkat (who many of us know and who is very supportive of GSF community) tells that the problem was that it was Stellarcrusade & Co. went with as many bombers as they could muster. I tend to believe Maulkat here and not some random "new player with enough matches to have 7.5k+ fleet requisition while bomber-ticking on the off node" MaximilianPower seems to know something about it, since he? posted that there is more to the story than Stellarcrusade claims. Same with Maulkat. So far I see a whole bunch of people jumping to the call of a not very trustworthy pilot since his story doesn't match the facts. As for Stellarcrusade's 1000+ guild of potential pilots, based on what I've seen - I'll pass. We don't need that many bomber pilots in GSF. And of course you can not guarantee that even 10 people from that 1000 would have tried GSF, so those words were nothing more than BS of a hurt noob.
  7. For as long as it's not the same Devs who work on Operations, GSF, WZs, Story, etc it won't become a bad idea to have a purchasable token. However the token must be purchasable with real money not cartel coins and the money must go to the intended development team (i.e. money given for GSF development go to GSF dev team and all other devs get nothing). All BioWare would need to do is to have a section on the website with target amount for new content that people can vote for (i.e. GSF: New Map vs Ship Balance) where each option would have description what they promise to deliver. Make in-game pop-ups as they did in open beta to reach all who engage in a specific game mode (i.e. after completion of a GSF match) and let people vote. After people voted what they want devs to deliver - allow people to start making contributions and track it on the website (similar to Kickstarter way). Once the budget amount is reached - dev team responsible for that section of content will receive the money and start delivering.
  8. Just in case you didn't know. Power settings don't affect railguns.
  9. Looks like I missed something juicy here. Time to correct it. It seems the duration of the game was a touch under 12 minutes. Looks like on that screenshot you were Cainite based on the highlight of the name. You scored 1, 9, 2 with less than 20k damage. You probably spent the entire game in a bomber, tucked somewhere. Wow 1.5k damage dealt every minute OR 1.8k per person you damaged. How did you do that? Your 5 medals were: 2 for assists 1 for damage 2 for healing (since it's unlikely you killed someone solo) No wonder you scream about hacks, it must be very hard for you to admit that you're bad at GSF or at the very least that there are people who are much better than you. Maybe next time you will consider adjusting your ship choice based on the development of the match. Try a gunship or a scout, you might be more useful to your team, however that will require aiming skills and piloting skills. Sitting behind a rock waiting for your pets to do their thing will not cut it. Just because you did 100 hours of GSF doesn't mean you're any good. After all 100 hours at about 6 games per hour max will get you 600 games. It is nothing compared to aces who have multiple characters with thousands of games each. I'm not even getting into such things as focusing on a specific ship or getting it mastered. 600 games are barely enough to familiarize yourself with gameplay, strengths, weaknesses, tactics and counter-tactics of just meta ships. The guy you're calling a cheater doesn't even qualify for the last place in the records thread with that particular screenshot. What would you say about the people on that list? Gods of Cheating? What you should do is to apologize to the guy in question and ask people to help you with getting better at GSF.
  10. Offer him a position of The Official Mascot. Terms of the contract would require him: - to be named Retrocide - to use only the ships equiped with retro thrusters - to retroecide at least once a game (I can't be the only person who had this idea, right?)
  11. Approach a gunship wall from a side that forces them to either face you or face the gunships on your team. If they face you - gunships on your team can move in and weed them out. If they face gunships on your team - you can make a run on the gunship wall. Make sure to pick a gunship on the back lines since it will force the front line to turn or at the very least you will have less gunships railing at you from the start. Sometimes you don't even have to make a run, just hide behind a rock within a striking distance and some gunships will just sit there and look at you while your team grinds them to fine particles.
  12. Since you got one friendly from Drakolich... As he said, your power management is bad. My understanding that you've been around for a long time. Power management must be on a muscle memory level. If you move - power to engines, if you shoot - power to weapons. Your using of retrues is almost non-existent. Why do you even have them? Your understanding of the ship capabilities, positioning and situational awareness can be much much better. First, you're trying to engage in a direct shootout with T1 gunships while out in the open. You're at a huge disadvantage just due to your ship. You have 9% less evasion because you don't have the armoring. In other words - all things equal they have 9% more effective accuracy against you. Why do you even try to sit there and shoot at them? Here is the breakdown: @ 1:03 You're charging in power to engine mode. @ 1:21 You're still charging in power to engine mode. You run our of energy but instead of switching to correct power mode and regenerating it a bit you keep on squeezing the last drops. @ 1:37 You're hit with ion splash and you don't even react to it. You don't even try to see who shot you. @1.43 Finally you switch to power to weapons mode! @ 2:32 It was obvious that there is a gunship closing on you and disappearing at 15 km mark due to sensor dampening. Right there you should have either charged your railgun and waited for them to appear or move to cover. You waited until you got hit with fully charged ion railgun. Instead of retroing right away or boosting to cover under DF or strafing to cover, you just sat there for 15 seconds and waited to be turned to dust. @3:38 You're charging in power to engines mode again. Took you 8 seconds to realize and correct. @4:20 Boosting while in power to weapons mode. @4:51 You got shot directly with ion and you boost in power to weapon mode which basically sucks your engines dry but you still insist on being in power to weapons mode. @5:27 You wasted your wingman buff. You didn't have anyone of importance targeted, in-range, in line of sight, and you didn't even have your railgun charged. You keep on sitting there and charging, wasting all your weapon bar. Only when your wingman run out you decided to move in. You got shot, but instead of using retros you used DF and boosted while in power to weapons mode! @6:24 I'm sure that was something you didn't plan for, so your death wasn't a big deal. @7:13 Charging while in power to engines mode again. Kept on charging to 100% while even a 25% charge would have been enough. Waste of time and energy. 3 successive boosts wasting energy. (each activation costs you 5 energy for the total of 15) Charging while in power to engines mode again. @7:33 You could have waited a fraction longer and killed that gunship in one hit. @8:30 You wasted 50% of your DF. You didn't have enough energy for the second shot to ensure the kill and your DF run out, but instead of moving back behind the rock you just sat there like a champ and ate those slugs. (That other gunship had DF+Wingman up after you shot him so you should have moved back sooner or used retroes to throw them off a bit.) You moved too far even though you were already safe and self-destructed. @9:23 Charging while in power to engines mode again. (Might be a good decision since your engines are drained, but I don't think you did it intentionally). You've wasted your wingman. You didn't have a full charge and it was obvious that you target was moving out of your range. Still charging in power to engines mode. You have an opportunity shot that you didn't take and you wasted your entire charge a moment later. @9:38 Still charging in power to engines mode. Released partial charge for no reason 2 times and instead of securing a kill you had to run and ended up dead. @10:30 Charging while in power to engines mode again. @11:10 Charging while in power to engines mode again. Challenging a T1 gunship to a shooting contest while you don't have any cover. Instead of using retroes to run (because other gunship had DF+Wingman up) you used DF and tried to boost. You "unexpectedly" died. @12:07 Charging while in power to engines mode again. Finally some power to weapon mode for a change. Overcharging instead of taking an opportunity shot. (the guy is almost dead you needed like 30% charge at most) @12:40 Wow. You challenge a T1 gunship to a shooting contest while you have no DF, no Wingman, your front shields are damages and your hull is damages. (While other gunship was at 100% + LOL Fortress Shield up) You could have used retroes and LOS him, but you just boosted away. (your luck that someone else shot him and made him move and killed him or you would have died.) @13:18 Charging while in power to engines mode again. No comment about that strike that charged you. @13:56 Why did you even bother engaging with red hull? You should have run towards your spawn instead of giving away a point. But at least you manage you discover your retroes. Summary: Power management: F Understanding of ship strengths and weaknesses: D Situational awareness: D Positioning: C Piloting: C
  13. If you expect to fight 1 vs 3 and win - you must have your skill level on a significantly higher level than that of your opponents as well as a ship that was properly selected for the task with appropriate build and preferably mastered. The game gives you sufficient information about the enemy team: Pressing M at any time during the game shows the screen where you select your ship. It has information about your team composition and the enemy team composition. Use it from time to time to see what the other team is doing and check it while you're respawning. There is a decent mini-map that shows visible enemies with arrows pointing in the direction they are facing. If the arrows are not moving and are at range, they are likely gunships. If the markers are round - those are mines/drones/beacons. When you select a target, you can tell by the visual in the targeting window: Ship type Weapons equipped Direction they are facing Who they are targeting How far they are from you Current health and shields Red triangles around your firing arc tell you about the enemies around and the size tells you the distance. The bigger the triangle, the closer the enemy is. Master these and you will become a better pilot. There is no need of a target of a target as there are no skills in the game that require you to "target" an ally. Also even if you had it, you still will need to rotate your ship and attack that target as you normally would (being in range and relatively centered). And you should have enough awareness to pull back instead of focusing like a madman on that one target playing a bait. So many times I see unskilled pilots chasing that one gunship/scout, deep in the enemy territory away from objectives. If the target runs from you well, switch to the next target or pull back. It's always a better option to attack a target that is attacking someone else instead of trying to duel or attempting predictable revenge runs.
  14. You mean the fact that you picked a better build for dueling (BLC+Cluster) vs his Quads+PodS? Why don't you mention then that you got destroyed by a T2 strike in the next official duel? That should be more embarrassing, don't you think? (there was even a video of that "duel"). The reason was the same. But this time your build of choice was poor.
  15. I see that whatever you did, produced some interesting results. You can hold a grudge against me, I don't mind. Consider it to be a bitter medicine of sorts. Anyone on the wild pastures of the internet has the right to announce who they are or keep it to themselves. You made your choice, I don't have to follow your steps. I visit Harbinger, play my daily/weekly and move on as I do with other servers. I don't require extra attention. I just enjoy the process. It's PvP, you win some and you lose some, you can't control it unless you control everyone on your team and on the opposing team. GSF is going through natural life-cycle of a game or a part of a game (Story, Heroics/Flashpoints/Operations, New Planets/Zones, PvP, etc.) When it's released everyone wants to try it. When everyone tried it and compared what they got with what they dreamed about they split First group - it's not what I wanted - I'm out. Second group - it's not what I expected, but it's acceptable - I'm sticking with it for whatever reason. Third group - it's what I wanted - I'm all in. After a while Second group splits again Those who's reasons disappeared, go to the First group. Those who's reasons got into the territory of an acquired taste join the Third group. Those who's reasons remain - stay in downsized Second group Ultimately only the Third group ensures that a game or its part keeps on going as eventually Second group does a complete split between First and Third. This Third group is generally very small. They are the enthusiasts that are willing to set up private servers and potentially modify code to fix bugs, do things to improve or at least preserve the game/mode. None of us have access to GSF part of SWTOR to set it up as a stand alone game with separate revenue stream spent only on GSF to cover at least operating costs and maybe some development costs. The only group of people who can ensure a steady inflow of new people into the system and ultimately their retention is the development team. They are the only people who can actually do something. Unfortunately the meatbags occupying the place of GSF development team provided us with no updates for almost 2 years. Bottom line: if there is nothing that you can really do to change the system - enjoy what you have while you have it so you don't have regrets when it's gone.
  16. Look for the roots of the problem within. People who you asked must have already disliked you. You should ask people who are friends with you or at least those who respect you. You can't please everyone. Nobody can. Guild/Friends are also a community. So who do you cater to? GSF as a whole or people who you know and care about. As for me knowing who you are and you not knowing who I am... It was your choice to post your every alt in your signature, so it's on you. I didn't really care about In Game You. My reply would have been almost the same even if I had no clue about your character names. I speak my experiences and things that I said to myself in the past. It's PvP, can't handle it - go PvE/RP or play single player games. There you're the hero. In MMOs you're one of many, no special treatment until you've earned it. Instead of bottling up for weeks you could have privately invited people to play with you on the opposite side. But based on how you post on the forums, I'm pretty sure it went something like this: SeCKSEgai - [rage] You've beaten up the team on noobs I was on 50 to 10 and you spawn camped us. GSF pilot - Ok, sorry about that, but should we just let your team sit on the spawn until the timer runs out? SeCKSEgai - Yes you should have and you should disband your group. It's unfair that you have friends you group with. GSF pilot - Really? I don't think so. SeCKSEgai - And you should come with me to the other side to even things out. GSF pilot - Really? I don't feel like being in the same group with you. This not the way to get people on your side. Proactive is not the same as complaining all the time. As for "threatening" to leave GSF as many did before you... You know what they say: have fun with your next thing, may it bring you the peace of mind you seek. I play on Harbinger from time to time. I win some, I lose some, but I see no reason to complain about premades ruining my fun, because my fun comes from the process of GSFing.
  17. It's not unkind and lousy. It's annoyed and truthful. There is a better way of achieving balance. It's called being proactive, getting the teams together, going to the other side and nicely asking specific people if they would like to join you on the other side to even things out. I don't think anyone wants to hear complaints about how unfair a match was for someone because they solo qued and were teamed with 7 noobs.
  18. Sort of a long answer to the questions you raise here: There are people who log on and get an invite from their friends and they que for GSF. Those people just fly together because they want to fly together. Not because they all cherry picked each other as elite pilots. Are there pilot groups that are all on the elite level with mastered ships? Yes. Are all pilot groups like that? No! Those pilots have fun regardless if they win or lose. What matters is the process. If you can't enjoy the process and the aftermath you should not step into a PvP realm. Have I been on both sides of this coin? Yes. I was flying with friends against people who were solo and flying solo against people who were flying with their friends. Do I have the right to go and complain that they can't play together, because it gives them an unfair advantage? No! They play together because they want to play together. Complaining about multiple premades on the same side is foolish. Often enough those groups are fighting each other in wargames. There will be only one winner. There are no possible way in the game were both teams win. Those multiple premades don't complain about facing each other. They just do and get as much as they can from the process. Being qued on the same side doesn't guarantee that you will end up on the same team or in the same match. The games are normally won not by the team with the best pilot, but by the team that has the least number of defective pilots (regardless of the number of games they played or number of mastered ships they have). We all had games where your team is so bad they end up at the bottom of the scoreboard at the end of the match (regardless of the category). There are only so many deficient pilots you can compensate for. I've seen SeCKSEgai on multiple toons on Harbinger when I visit. Most times you want to put him on ignore so you're not bothered by continuous whining emitted by this pilot on /GSF. Instead of getting a team together and fielding it, he whines. Instead of getting better, he whines. When I see him on my team I don't go "Yea! I can rely on this guy!". It's more like: "At least it's not a total noob". If he cares about balance and community so much, he should start his own guild/group that he regularly flies with and maybe even get a voice chat. Though I don't think he will have any success with all of his complaints. People tend to group with people who they like. You can't constantly tolerate someone who irritates the hell out of you. After a while you get fed up and you'd rather play with someone else. So SeCKSEgai should either step up or shut up. Complaining on the forums or in /GSF accomplishes nothing.
  19. It's not "shut up AND play meta". It is "shut up OR play meta". "shut up" - because if you're trying to promote across the board nerfs to the balanced, larger part of the system instead of buffs to the smaller, under-performing part of the system - we don't want to hear you. However you're still free to play whatever the build you want and have fun. "play meta" - because If you're looking for a readily available solution of improving your game and overall contribution to your team, playing meta is the solution. If you really want to contribute ideas that won't cause a backlash at you, discuss potential BUFFS to strikes. Something that gives them a useful role that can't be filled by other ship types effectively. There is a hundred page long thread about strikes started by the dev team.
  20. You're missing the point. There are no rules. There are just some people who rally for the cause and choose to put aside their mastered ships so the games can become more slower paced. That way new pilots can keep up. You can participate by getting a new ships on the same character you normally fly. Just don't upgrade it for that particular day and fly it as is. (i.e. get a T3 bomber and give it a try in more relaxed settings than normal, or get a T3 gunship/scout/strike anything you haven't purchased yet or haven't upgraded.) In the worst case you can always fly whatever you want and I don't think other people will bash you for it. If you bring something that really breaks things (like a mastered SIM CP bomber in domination, since stock ships don't have AP) someone might ask you to not do it or a veteran player will step in and bring something to counter you and keep you busy. These events can be quite fun as they shift ship balance from mastered meta ships. This event allows pilots to try out a server and get a good chunk of requisition before they get to face mastered ships on regular days. Some pilots get a chance to fly a ship they have never flown before. Also this event is a good demonstration for the good old debate of experience vs upgrades.
  21. Let's just imagine that you Jazyra were born without eyes. You're totally blind from birth, but as the time passed by you were made aware that other people have this thing called eyesight that makes life awesome and easy. You don't have to bump into things, that thing called TV is not audio only, it has accompanying moving pictures that are fun and pleasing to watch. What's even "worse" in Jazyra's mind is that the entire world seems to be built around people who can see. Everyone likes this world where everything is balanced for them. Jazyra on the other hand has to walk around with a white cane and rely 100% on other senses and other people. How unfair! Jazyra starts the campaign that people with eyes are OP and should be nerfed. Pluck thier eyes out just because Jazyra uses him/herself as an anchor point. Never does it cross Jazyra's mind that JUST FREAKING MAYBE the people that can see are the norm, the anchor point and Jazyra's condition is NOT normal. Let's imagine there is a miracle cure. <insert procedure to allow Jazyra to become just like everyone else>. For instance there was a different body prepared for Jazyra and the technology was developed to transfer Jazyra's mind from old body to a shiny perfect new body that is not deficient in any way. "NO!" says Jazyra, "Why should I give up this crippled body of mine when the proper solution would be to pluck everyone's eyes out and make ALL OF THE HUMANITY blind just as I am! Only then the world will be balanced." Do us all a favor, either shut up or get into meta ships. We all know strikes are not where they should be, but we're not in favor of making them viable at the expense of balance of 3 other ships classes out of 4 available.
  22. Your main problem is highlited with red. In orange is the continuation of the main problem. Your delusions are in magenta as no gunship can shoot past 15 km and shoot through objects aside from T4 AoE talent of Ion Railgun that still requires a successful hit on the target within range and line of sight. Only if you lag a lot you will see unusual things, but again, all target confirmation is done on the server side. If your ship is within distance and line of sight on the server - you will be hit regardless of your positioning on your local computer. All part of hack prevention. Highlighted in blue is mostly the lack of experience and then upgrades. Even the best tool given to an individual will be a waste if they don't know how to use it. Upgrades really make a difference only when the skill level gap is very narrow. There was a thread on number of requisition needed to get any ship to get to 70-80% of effectiveness and the amount is fairly low when compared to the total requisition required to achieve 100% In green is a normal requisition gain of a average F2P pilot that exhausted ship's daily requisition bonus of 500 (ask if you don't know how it works). Subscriber will get around 600. There also was a thread explaining requisition gains based on what you do in a match (i.e. participating in successful capture of a satellite give you more requisition than getting multiple kills/assists) If you want to get better - try switching factions or servers to get on a dominant side. You can GSF from lvl 1. You can ask people in /GSF (after you /cjoin that channel) for help, advice, groups. Just don't forget to leave your "nerf everyone but me" attitude in your personal vault.
  23. The example you gave was not applicable to GSF in any way shape or form and you're delusional if you think otherwise. As for your guild and family, why don't you conduct a mostly controlled experiment and take that collection of seeds to Jung-Ma? Take them there and see if you can nurture them to be fine GSFers in that wasteland devoid of any competition. I anticipate 99.99% chance of failure because it takes a certain attitude and burning desire to improve, to do better than others in competitive settings. You can't bring lambs to a hunt and expect them to replace dogs. You bring dogs to the hunt for a reason. If your guild is full of lambs that think the entire world is a fenced grass field that has no real predators, no matter how you try to shelter them - they will not last. They will either quit quietly, or come to the forums like OP to whine and spew some BS about current state of the game and how things should be. We don't need lambs in GSF, we need dogs. Even if you succeed in not losing any lambs in the process, as soon as at least of your lambs will turn out to be a dog and get so good that he or she alone will guarantee a victory for the team you will lose either: 1. That individual (because they will leave to test their skills against real competition) 2. The other team that will refuse to play against him/her, therefore forcing point #1. You can't grow a healthy population of hunting dogs if you expect them to play along with lambs and force dogs to make lambs feel equal to dogs by crippling the dogs. Most veterans want competition. We can go against each other for hours and have fun, regardless if we win or lose (mainly because the loss is decided by the number of inexperienced dogs and/or lambs assigned to your team). As soon as we're forced to hold back to make others "feel" better (because they were killed only 5 times and not 10 or because it took 6 seconds to kill them instead of 3), we will move on to servers with better competition or other games. This game is still going not because of the lambs that want to be equal to dogs, but because the grown up dogs still play with and against each other to remain in shape and because from time to time young, inexperienced dogs join us and stay because they like to be here regardless of hardships.
  24. I remember on BC I was told a story: there was or maybe is a guild on the imp side that liked to get into premades and once they decided to go easy on some pubs in TDM and kill them by forcing them to suicide with constant missile locks and mild damage to shields to make them move. I was told that game ended 50 to something very small like nothing. Do you really think those players appreciated that they were toyed with? Do you think they didn't figure it out in the end or in the process? Do you think none of them started to self-destruct on the cap ship wishing for the game to be over sooner? If I were to be put into the same situation, I'd rather for it to be quick and merciless to get it over with and get into the next game. GSF is held together mostly by veterans (regardless of skill level) people who like GSF for what it is. While yes we want some improvements, we recognize that the game is balanced enough to survive without any developer attention for something close to 2 years (correct me if I'm wrong on the time here). While yes we want more people in, we want new people that understand GSF and accept it for what it is. Most of us made our way from being new to veteran, from being stock to mastered (later many of us did more than once). We know about the challenges and limitations, but what makes a good player good is not a mastered ship of choice, but knowledge how to use the ship. Last thing we need are noobs like OP to come and dictate their biased version of balance. It's like that joke: "Please nerf the paper, scissors are fine just as is." signed "Rock". Once you play as rock, as paper and as scissors you will understand the balance better and you might even be able to make sound suggestions. We don't need any more threads complaining about the game controls, no support for joysticks, calls for nerfs to OP T1 gunships, T2 scouts and T1 & T2 bombers. It's all had been discussed and explained. There are no secrets that only aces know. Quite a few aces stream regularly. Some even do tutorial videos and write guides for noobs. Most veterans are willing to answer questions in game and even group up with less experienced players. Some guilds offer new players to join mumble/TS/etc. for ease of communication. All that we ask from noobs is to do as we suggest. Look at DomiSotto, a fine example of the attitude we need. Yes he was new and didn't have a clue. He asked questions and got answers. He was actively trying to get better and not raging that the game doesn't revolve around him. Now he's better and understands the game better. Competence and knowledge come with time and effort. You rarely notice the line when one becomes competent and knowledgeable if you observe the individual continuously, but it's evident when you take a current snapshot and compare it to starting point.
