  1. Trust me, I've spent plenty. I've also been frustrated plenty, but if you take the random parts out of the equation there's just nothing to it. I also tend to move on after 30. I figure after 30 tries it's far more profitable to move on to the next item. Now that I'm entering end game with this character... what else would I spend my money on?
  2. I believe I made the same mistake earlier in the thread. =) Properly spelled "Supremacy". Cheers!
  3. I disagree. I prefer the percentage. Straight numbers would just be boring. ;-)
  4. These are both branches of the Critical tree, not Redoubt. =\
  5. Total brain hiccup there. I believe you're correct (I'd have to double check that character's trainer to be sure, but that sounds about right to me!). Regardless though, you cannot get it from reverse engineering a 22, to the best of any knowledge shared here. It's also not consistent with the rest of the system for such a thing to be the case.
  6. You'll get Reflex Barrel 23 from the trainer, just like you got 22.
  7. So a question for clarity: Rating only affects the armor rating of armor and the damage of a weapon. Is there anything else that it affects, ever, that we know of in the entire game? Thanks! =)
  8. Also, there's that "There are no missions defined for the crew skill 'Synthweaving'." message I get whenever I craft something.
  9. I haven't had any trouble getting blues, but I haven't managed to get a single purple since Tuesday/Wednesday's update. I HAVE however, been getting a lot more augment slots, for what that's worth.
  10. Great graphic. My only recommendation to the new version of the guide was going to be some sort of chart to simplify that, as well as examples showing the difference between the suffixes. Good catch. =)
  11. Correct. The item appearance on your character or minion- er, companion will be the same no matter how many times you upgrade the schematic.
  12. That is exactly what I was hoping someone would do. I basically misinterpreted my own data by forgetting all about schematics that start off as blue. Sorry! As for people thinking you're a dick, I certainly don't. Your work in this thread and guide's creation puts you into some of the highest ranks of my esteem. I can't tell you how many times I see someone starting their post with "I haven't read this thread/the guide/et cetera but..." Grr. So again, thank you for pointing out my error. I appreciate it. =) Cheers and keep up the good work!
  13. Correct, critical crafting is what gives you the augment slot. Reverse engineering a tier 1 purple into a tier 2 purple gives you a recipe that has extra ability modifications, not an augment slot. If you then manage to critically craft from that item, you then get the augment slot as well and the [superior] tag changes to [Mastercraft]. As for looted items of any color providing recipes, we just don't know yet, which tends to imply that no recipes will be forthcoming from doing so, only meager materials.
  14. There are others. 4 more, to be exact. Check the original post, it'll show you the different ones. =)
  15. I believe that's tier 2. Check my last couple posts on this page. I think I addressed it. =) To restate, I *think*, but am not positive, you can skip tier 1 purple and go right to tier 2 with the [superior] suffix on the end.
  16. I believe it is green --> blue --> purple (tier 1, no suffix unless critical while crafting) --> purple (tier 2, [superior] suffix) In theory, you can continue to reverse engineer that to get deep purple, but I still haven't even seen a deep purple item, never mind a crafted one. It's still a mystery.
  17. I THINK you can critically reverse engineer something and skip the first tier of purple and go right to [superior] which is, I believe, the tag that indicates it is a tier 2 purple and not tier 1 purple. I could be wrong in this though, as I haven't had my espresso yet. ;-)
  18. Mastercraft is an artifact item crafted with a critical success. This grants it an augment slot. Any lower quality item than artifact (green or blue colors) that gets a critical success would have the [Exceptional] tag after it, I believe.
  19. That's the theory, but it's so expensive and time consuming that we don't really know yet. Either it can't be done, or no one has done it yet (and told any of us about it) with confirmation.
  20. Sounds like a bug to me. File a bug report! =)
  21. I've actually started keeping track of every item I craft and then reverse engineer, as well as the resulting recipe, if any. So eventually, I should have some pretty solid data to figure out percentages. I keep wrestling with myself over what data to track beyond this. It seems that my skill rating may factor in to the percentages, but since I'm not starting fresh for this project, I'd be lacking a substantial portion of earlier data. Does anyone have any requests or suggestions for what I should consider tracking? Bear in mind the more details I track, the more tedious it becomes, and the less fun it is. ;-)
  22. I got that reply when I accidentally bought an expensive item and wanted a way to sell it back at full price (like you can if you sell something unintentionally). I got the exact same reply. I don't want my item back, I want you to TAKE it back! /headdesk
  23. Anyone had any luck reverse engineering Oranges since the patch? I've tried without mods, with mods, bound, unbound. No luck. It just tells me "That item cannot be reverse engineered." =\
