Just got done parsing through a well thought out thread by drakos. In that thread he states, basically that the story telling here in tor is the best out there, but that story telling isn't enough for him personally. From what i can tell on the forums here, this rings true for alot of people.
I was the kind of kid who could go out in the backyard, take a stick, and pretend i was a ninja turtle for HOURS, and never get bored. This game does the same kind of things to my imagination. For me, if the game stayed as is, and they just kept the story coming, i would be a faithful subscriber for as long as they had the doors open.
At the same time, i am very understanding for those people, who the story telling just isn't enough, they need more. I guess the point of this thread is to try and reach out and be sympathetic. Instead of "i kan haz yer stuff" i wish you well in finding a game that can hold your attention. I just hope there is enough of those of us where the "story is enough" to keep this game going, while the folks at bioware get the kinks ironed out.
Are there more out there like me, where the story is enough? or am i in the gross gross minority? this game does a better job then any i have ever seen, in creating an emotional attachment to my character. Even if its just to putter around, and help run new players through eselles or hammer station, my trooper will always stay part of the rotation. Get on my ship, see Aric, say hi to Elara, and shoot down moar fighters in a space combat. i just love my character.
if you are listening bioware....you have your work cut out for you. I hope there are enough players like myself to keep you afloat.
