  1. Ok by pure dumb luck, i stumbled across one of the shmexiest things i have discovered in this star wars mmo to date. The righteous harbingers light saber. Most lightsabers kinda have that loud whoosh/whine, and the loud hum. Not this saber, it flows out ever so softly, and has a 60s muscle car growl to it. im definitely in love. Two questions 1. are there other light sabers besides this one (it can be purchased for 14 commendations from corrusant vendor) that has a variety in igniting sound and general hum? 2. and what are the best way for my 26 sentinal to grind out 28 corrusant commendations, cause i MUST have two of them RIGHT NAO!
  2. they can still do pazak and make it meaningful. allow the wagering of legacy/social XP. Greatly expand the inventory that the social vendors carry, and allow the Social XP to be build up with Pazak/pod racing winnings. It can be done, just takes a bit of out of the box thinking. if the wagering is the problem, take wagering out of the equation. Give Social XP for completing pazak games,
  3. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230141 i have one of these. If you have about 1300 bucks when its all said and done, you can run tor at max, stream two things at once, have ten chrome tabs open, and not break a sweat.....
  4. she is special forces, you understand the risks when you sign up. Soldiers die, so that Susie doesn't have to ask mommie why her daddy isn't coming home. Every day Soldiers make all the tough decisions so all of us civies don't have to. the only regret i have is i couldn't put a bullet into ever joint before he got it in the head.......
  5. hate to say it, but the people who would actually use the need for companion button will roll greed anyway, and be nice. you would have to actually lock someone out of rolling for something that is not their main stat for this to even be viable.
  6. For me its the emotional attachment i get to my character even after the story is over. I find myself role playing what i would do in certain instances. I could even say, that i could play through the game again, just to do the class quests again. It also helps that i am such a HUGE star wars fan. For me, with my imagination, the story quite never ends. i have no problem puttering around, or even rolling a new character to do the story over again. I just love the feel it gives.
  7. Just got done parsing through a well thought out thread by drakos. In that thread he states, basically that the story telling here in tor is the best out there, but that story telling isn't enough for him personally. From what i can tell on the forums here, this rings true for alot of people. I was the kind of kid who could go out in the backyard, take a stick, and pretend i was a ninja turtle for HOURS, and never get bored. This game does the same kind of things to my imagination. For me, if the game stayed as is, and they just kept the story coming, i would be a faithful subscriber for as long as they had the doors open. At the same time, i am very understanding for those people, who the story telling just isn't enough, they need more. I guess the point of this thread is to try and reach out and be sympathetic. Instead of "i kan haz yer stuff" i wish you well in finding a game that can hold your attention. I just hope there is enough of those of us where the "story is enough" to keep this game going, while the folks at bioware get the kinks ironed out. Are there more out there like me, where the story is enough? or am i in the gross gross minority? this game does a better job then any i have ever seen, in creating an emotional attachment to my character. Even if its just to putter around, and help run new players through eselles or hammer station, my trooper will always stay part of the rotation. Get on my ship, see Aric, say hi to Elara, and shoot down moar fighters in a space combat. i just love my character. if you are listening bioware....you have your work cut out for you. I hope there are enough players like myself to keep you afloat.
  8. as i roleplay my trooper, i cant help but think of all those republic soldiers on taris who are only alive today, hopefully going home to their wifes and families, because dorne would not give up on them. She refused to accept leaving anyone behind. Ask any special forces soldier, you never never leave a man behind. also the fact that even in the face of continued ridicule from worthless superior officers, Dorne would not give up, would not accept defeat. that's the kind of spec forces leader any unit needs
  9. if you folks think that TOR has buried wow now, just wait until they really develop space. it will completely bury everything out there ever. Just imagine when guilds can buy and man their capitol ship, and each planet has its own "ArEA of space" that you can fight for. Empire and republic quilds get all their capitol ships out there....WEEEHOOO!!!!
  10. specially when you reach level 3 missel turret and get 80 missles! im crapping them like mad! btw anyone use those proton dealies? are they any good?
  11. just bioware trying to be proactive. the more people they can get to attach a sekuriteh keh to their account, the more likely it is that significantly less accounts get hacked. Which means they spend less time trying to recover hacked accounts, which means they can divert those man hours to something a bit more useful!
  12. 1. As stated before, from level 1 you feel important....you feel....dare i say it (looks around pensively), ok im just gonna say it....HEROIC!!!! when i was on ord mantell and i saved that merchants daughter from torture and death, and he shouts at the top of his voice "EVERYONE...THIS IS THE MAN THAT SAVED MY DAUGHTER....priceless, just priceless. and this is a level 1-10 quest. 2. i love the EPIC look to the whole game. The King of epic feel so far in any mmo imho has to be LOTRO. First time hitting moria, or Lothlorien, almost takes your breath away. But i was walking through taris, and ascetically, it just looked EPIC! when i was on Corrusant, i found myself wishing i could take a taxi and just free-fly and explore! 3. Companion system is just so well done. You get attached, you have your favorites (im looking at you elara and kira). *SPOILER ALERT* the way kira just punks Darth Angrels interrogators was just HILARIOUS!!!! 4. Somehow those warrior poets over at bioware eliminated THE GRIND. How in the world they ever managed to eliminate the grind, im still puzzled, BUT ITS NOT THERE! ive played 5 classes past level 10, three past level 25 so far, and its just FUN! 5. This game is a True Roleplayers Garden of Eden. From someone who played more homebrewed pen and paper rpg then you can shake a stick at, in true bioware form, you really get into your character, and really get attached and engrossed. You actually care about your toons. All in all this game has one of the best foundation i have ever seen in any mmo, and ive been playing then since the old text style muds. Anyone out there ever play the revenge of the jedi circle mud......my first love *nostalgic sigh* this game is a winner. Im SO proud to say that im a beta tester and day one early access to an mmo that is going down as one of the greatest ever made!!!!! MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!!!!!!
  13. To anyone who found the Taris AIM holocron without googling. I mean ive been gaming since comodore 64 and atari. ive seen every game system come and go....seen almost every game come and go, played most of them. If you figured out the Taris aim holocron without help, seriously go invent cold fusion, or test for Mensa or something......
  14. the key is not lots and lots, its knowing your wife/girlfriend well enough to know what she really really likes......only then can you hit the homeruns.....
