Maybe i'll just become the guy who supports new ideas. Lightsaber fan? I fully support this and there is no good reason why things like this should not exist especially in a game about fiction. I salute you for finding this pic if you found it, if you created it yourself I salute you an additional 34 times. We need more creativity like this or else we are all going to be running around looking like stormtroopers, robots with lightsabers, or people who wear cone shaped hats with dresses giggling cause we discovered purple lightning. I support this and if you start a petition let me know even though it'll probably be ignored:confused: and please don't get this confused with raging, I just would like to see some new creative elements introduced to a game where everything is basically the same model with just a few color alterations...raise your hand if you have been to both fleets and can tell the only difference is one is blue and the other is red. lightsaber fans, whips, allowing AC(s) someway of choosing weapons other then what they have to may just invigorate and make the game less repetitive. And also I admittedly have played this game since early beta and will continue to do so. Bioware I promise you if you find a way to allow me to utilize a gun(rangehunter) as a forceuser(even just 2-4 moves) or allow me to us melee weapons(cathar sword, vibroblade and the like) and I do not mean shiv etc, as a non forceuser, kotor2 style you may just find yourself with one of if not the best game experiences out there.

if it exist in lore, put it in the game....simple. Aren't you all tired of basically looking the same and or paying millions of credits, cartel coins and for some real life money to look different than the person that just spawned next to you. Stop fighting customization. Sure it may take some time to make it work but raise your hand if you'll stop playing. And just to light the flames even more how about not limiting characters to melee or ranged. I'm not saying giving a smuggler a lightsaber or a jedi a canon but if you can accomplish this with the companions why not try...at least try... to figure out a system for player created characters. And if it was tried before then guess what, give it another go.

Legend has it that the pure white crystal was an exploit achieved once a player did some method similar to getting a magenta crystal during the middle stages of the war we still fight. The black crystal was never truly seen, but there were skilled ones called data miners who were able to break down the code of existence to find things that bioware did not want us to see. After sometime though the white crystal was made available as young jedi began to notice a master jedi right outside of the temple on tython that was infact wielding a white or silver(whatever) lightsaber -and still is- to hold a flesheater at bay alongside a team of other jedi and troopers. Take from this what you will.

Many of us have wanted this since beta and beyond. I shall still support your request my friend. Beware there are many more who would have us destroyed for our inquiry. But again I will stand with you.

easy compromise, new lightsaber(cartel pack item) with the darksaber sound. Iv'e argued for a darksaber or even just a straight up black crystal since I was in beta. Maybe they will, maybe they won't, I mean there are crazier colors (purple/pink combo). Also THIS is the era ( Rise of the Empire Era/ Golden Age of the Old Republic) in which it was created (in fact I would argue that the Vizla-redhead mando hottie- seen in the deceived trailer may have been the one to steal it whilst the temple was under attack so be patient, we may even get a Mando boss of some sort wielding it in an encounter just to make it that much more difficult to get. Although I still think It would be unfair especially for player created mando toons to not be able to wield it in blade form-this coming from a devout Sith-I'm no developer but I do believe that may be one of the primary reasons we probably will not see it without some sort of change to the AC system(non force users being able to choose to be primarily melee such as some of the companions). On the other hand they did give us the Cathar Honor Sword so who knows. But is definitely lore, there was a Vizla figure created with one that ebay is having a grand time with, and also a more current version included with a lego set that includes the half cyborg darth maul and 2 of his mando guards. Last time the actual saber was seen was when Palpatine gave darthmaul a spanking on the clone wars.

I for one am a huge fan of the idea behind the darksaber. It would be decent to have in game but I think the one argument that no one has touched upon is that it is largely a weapon to be used to combat force users. Currently I don't believe we have any -selectable- classes that are not force users who would be able to use a melee weapon. Sure it could be added to a cartel pack similar to the replicas of Revan's and Malak's armor etc. But again what would be the point of a force user running around flaunting a weapon created for non force users to defend against lightsabers.

Good point, I stand corrected as some sources report silver and others white. If i'm not mistaken folks thought we would never see black core crystals or even pink/purple and dual color crystals. Be patient my friend and watch the cartel market. You never know what may pop up, lore may not be a good enough reason to limit customization. Pet sarlacs?

I for one would like a Darksaber. I do understand the points against such an item existing for the use of many. If we follow lore so strictly though we may find that there should only be 8 of us running around each server(story wise and all). I'm Darth Baras apprentice and so are those other folks in the Korriban Academy cantina. This game is an mmorpg so clearly there are many of us playing the same storyline. It may be the unpopular opinion for many people who believe in total immersion but please bioware...may I has? It doesn't even have to be named "The Darksaber" I would gladly accept a replica. Lightsaber whip...perhaps, I am not opposed to those either new tech can be cool. Maybe even allow bounty hunters, agents, troopers and smugglers to use bladed weapons(exception being lightsabers) / force users to use firearms as it was in KOTOR/KOTOR2. Kreia was basically one handed and when she didn't have a vibroblade still worked miracles equipped with a blaster if you allowed her to. With limits though not as a totally rehashed ability set but like 2-3 abilities per class(remember powershot - criticalshot for force users packing heat / flurry-criticalstrike for gun weilders that enjoy cutting fools) And also a black crystal pleez bioware lifeday santa If you disagree I respect that and if you agree I also respect that, but would it really make a game that much worst? Either way I would still play and enjoy my time spent in this universe. Why not let folks customize characters like they see them in they're minds.
