I just thought of a potential solution. Make the auto squelch function only apply to the default channels (General, Trade, LFG, etc). Most of the gold spam is in game mail at this point anyway. If someone spams guild chat you just gkick them. This still leaves the system horribly exploitable but it isn't the travesty that is currently in place.

Great. Now WoW comes into the conversation. Some of the melee classes can get up to 3 charges/leaps in THIS game, you know that game's forums your on. That combined with force choke and force push while wearing heavy armor makes me not even care about any ranged character. I have no problem with a ranged class sitting on the 3rd tier shooting me. He isn't doing anything good for his team and he probably won't be able to kill me before I force charge back into his grill or get out of range. Ranged classes do not have any significant advantage in Hutt Ball. Learn to play your class.

The best way to get medals in Hutt Ball is to guard/kill/heal the ball carrier. Or just suck less.
