  1. Tanks BY FAR. Healers 2nd place. Tho there seems to be way more healers than tanks and then an ocean of DPS. I still don't see why there's so many DPS players, DPS is the most boring role to play.
  2. Operative - Medicine || Scoundrel - Sawbones 7870 HPS | 43.1 APM | 4969 Mastery | 2639 Power | 1450 (2xCry) Critical | 1174 (14xAug) Alacrity | 0 Accuracy How do you get to 2639 power in 216 gear? I could barely squeeze out 5100 mastery and 1900 power with all Alacrity augments and 2 crit crystals. I'm at like 1700 healing power. Powertech - Shield Tech || Vanguard - Shield Specialist 1330 DtPS | 4933 Mastery | 1022 Power | 2639 Defense | 973 (5xAug) Absorb | 1569 (9xAug) Shield Same with Shield Vanguard, it says in 216 gear I'm supposed to have about 2600 Defense Rating but I get like 2100 at most if I focus on augmenting shield/absorb. Using Bmods for extra HP, but even in unlettered didn't come even close to 2639 (was at like 2200 at most). I must be missing something obvious... P.S. Using 200 rating augments cause higher ones are way too overpriced, gonna wait till the prices settle down and crafters stop being ridiculous.
  3. I don't see how quicker leveling makes it casual. There's nothing hardcore about spending more time on mundane things that are not challenging. Dark Souls is hardcore because you have to learn and adapt, a hotbar based MMO leveling experience has absolutely zero potential to be called hardocre, no matter how much time it would take to level up. Unless the only way to level up was soloing 4+ heroics that are 5 levels above you, SWTOR leveling has never been and will never be "hardcore".

    4.0 Tank Stats

Should I use 216 gear bmods too? I got full set bonus token, they got unlettered mods. And what about enhancements? Should enhancements be mitigation or endurance heavy?
  5. the one with best gear, awareness and APM
  6. In operations I found Scoundrel/Operative to be the most enjoyable, something about being able to heal the entire group feels a lot less stressful than playing whack-em-all on operations frame with other healers. You know, you heal one guy, other is almost dead, you heal that guy, someone else needs attention. Scoundrel isn't stressful cause the healing feels all very even and also proactive. Refresh probes, cast Kolto Waves if theres some raid wide pressure damage, spam Kolto Cloud, apply kolto pack to tank. Dunno, out of all 3 healers it is the most enjoyable to play for me. And single target healing isn't as bad as some people make it out to be, it's just you need to proactively use all the abilities to have and you can pretty much heal the tank through anything. Scoundrel isn't a reactive healer, it is a proactive one, keep that in mind and you'll have a lot of fun. If someone is already at 3% hp theres nothing you can do and you already failed.

    Tanks in KotFA

inb4 a proud sin will come to defend his honor It always happens when talking about tanks, don't even know why, I find it funny
  8. The bolster does not nearly make up for the damage the enemies do. It supposedly bolsters my char to lvl 65 but the healing numbers are pretty much the same as they always used to be at lvl 60. It is ridiculous how with a Commando healer I can barely heal a tank through one turret in Mandalorian Raiders for example. Scoundrel healer feels useless too since it's not even a burst healer. Seriously, fix the bolster for lvl 60 chars in lvl 65 flashpoints. I could heal through hard mode Bulo with my scoundrel now I can't heal through trash in korriban incursion with the same gear? In Group Finder SM ops the bolster is fine, it shows like 1750 Bonus Healing on my scoundrel but for some reason in HM flashpoints it's like 1500. Like, medical probe ticks for 4k in DP story mode group finder but for some reason in any HM FP it's like 2600. Good luck healing people who have 75k HP and get hit by basic trash mobs for 23k. Why even let people below lvl 65 join HM FP then?
  9. a bit too early for that, I haven't found any optimal builds for any chars guess gotta wait till it goes live and save the commendations for when there's any actual good gearing guides (yes I'm totally dependent on someone else doing the math and don't want to waste comms/gear, sue me)
  10. The bolster doesn't really help much with healing though. Incredibly hard to keep up with the damage when you're a lvl 60 healer in a HM FP. Could not heal through the Korriban bonus and 2nd bosses cause I simply couldn't put out the numbers, was in 192 minmaxed gear and healing everything used to be a breeze. Can't do much when the enemies hit for 23k, I crit for like 12k cause of the crit rating changes and the players got 80k hp. Ridiculous.
  11. Loving the flashpoints right now. All the oldies are challenging and fun again. Ops too. I basically play this game like it's Left 4 Dead anyway so this felt like a huge map pack. I approve.
  12. Yeah, theres already a thread on Bug Report forums about it and Bioware already responded that they're looking into it. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=844447
  13. So the people who play in the early mornings before work are not functioning members of society? Good to know. Maintenance should be done in the early evening hours period. Other games manage it , BiowEAr can do it to.
  14. Well, for functioning members of society, this IS downtime. University, school, work. I only play during evenings and it's exactly when the servers are going back up. Basically, get a job or do your homework you slackers. You'll survive a few hours without loitering around Fleet and trolling the chat.
  15. Great thread, linking in to my guild website (and everyone who says "Hi, I'm new to this raiding stuff") Cheers.
  16. I would never in a million years do a pug run without master loot and a trustworthy group leader. The gamble is just not worth it. Too many times I have been cheated out of a chance for a mainhand and some guy winning a 3rd token in the same op and claiming that he deserves it more anyway. Best way to pug ops is to start your own pug group. And yeah, I get your frustration completely, players who think they're the bomb and are being divas are the worst. I'd rather raid with a 2/10 guy who's not an antisocial basement dweller than a 10/10 smug lemming. Your progress in the game doesn't make you above anyone else.
  17. Did some flashpoints, gotta say Mandalorian Raiders HM was a tough one to crack. My full minmaxed augmented 192 set bonus commando who could basically heal through underlurker with his eyes closed now could barely heal through a single turret shooting at the tank in this flashpoint . Bolster doesn't work properly to make up for the damage the enemies do. I kind of like the challenge, we got through the flashpoint with a couple of deaths (even did the bonus boss Gil) but the entire time it felt like I was doing a lvl 60 op with 128 rating gear. Maelstrom Prison HM with my Scoundrel Healer was quite easy tho, didn't run into too many issues other than *********** AGGRO IS STUPID NOW. And the way aggro works feels way different. I never got so much aggro on me as I did now and the same with other DPS players in the groups, it seems it's way harder for tanks to hold the enemies attention. Cademinu tactical with my Tactics Vanguard.... Yeah. 4 DPS players, not a lot of fun, I had to switch to respec to tank. For some reason it didn't let me confirm my utility selection changes (buggy or what) so I was in Tank spec with no utilities and in mostly DPS gear (Except for implants/earpiece/offhand/mainhand), we got through somehow. Gotta say, a somewhat "hybrid" setup works for tacticals. Although, would never recommend doing it without a healer.
  18. My reasons don't have to apply to everyone, why do your reasons have to apply to me ? You posted that Level Sync is terrible and your arguments for that assessment I found to be hilarious, I posted my reasons and commented on the said silliness. What are the most common reasons against level sync? "I don't feel powerful" "I can't farm credits in heroic areas" "I can't roflstomp low level players" I'm sorry, but those are laughable to me when comparing them to what levelsync brings to the game: adds relevance to older content and incentive to go back and do it without feeling like you're wasting your time more possibilities to group up for heroics no matter the level and have fun less power gap between players in pvp servers you're still gonna be overpowered for any area you're in simply because you're gonna have good gear and all your skills anyway. I don't see how level sync is "killing the game".
  19. Going back to lower level planets and doing sidequests is a lot more interesting when they still are a challenge. That was the intention behind the level sync and I fully support it. I don't buy this "it stops me from feeling powerful" argument. Must have some serious anger management issues if you really need to go to Tython and forcequake Flesh Raiders when you're level 60 to feel better about yourself. Level sync somewhat solves the open PvP issue in pvp servers, it was a much needed feature. Also it encourages you to go back and do some planetary side quests and actually feel like you're doing something, not roflstomping elite enemies with basic attacks (which I find incredibly dull) . Now no matter the level you can go to lower lvl planets and do some heroics and still be engaged by them, group up with some lower level people and everyone can contribute to the action. It's a great feature and it improves the relevance and fulfillment of doing older content. I'm glad Bioware is sticking to their guns and keeping the feature because listening to the "community" would be a terrible idea. Look at WoW. I trust the developers of the game more to make the decisions in regards to the direction of the game, rather than some crybabies that don't even make up 1% of the entire playerbase.
  20. Majority of the playerbase is not complaining about it. That is a statistical fact. If they're not complaining then it is not part of the negative feedback. You can't turn that kind of logic around on me, it is not how feedback works in any sort of services or products. Most people if they're satisfied with something they don't write any feedback at all. Most people don't go out of their way to express how much they liked something or that their expectations for a product or service were met. On the other hand, if they're really passionately upset with something they do write negative feedback. The negative feedback towards the level sync is insignificant in proportion to the total playerbase. People upset enough to complain about level sync on forums are in the vast minority to people who are either indifferent or positive towards it. EA runs things based on numbers. Your number is way smaller. Deal with it. P.S. Peoples inner feelings toward the product DO NOT MATTER if they do not express them. Only tangible feedback is EXPRESSED feedback. Companies can't read peoples minds (yet). And there's not enough people complaining about it for it to matter atm.
  21. It's still baffling to me how some people think that the louder they complain the more important their opinions are. You are vastly outnumbered, you're in a vocal minority and don't represent a significant enough margin of the playerbase. Most of the playerbase don't even post on forums. You can quit the game entirely cause of the levelsync and Bioware won't even notice you. Even a 100 people complaining about it is insignificant enough to completely brush it off in the grand scheme of things. Oh no, there are a couple of threads about this, this MUST be what the ENTIRE playerbase want. No it isn't. P.S. Levelsyinc is a great idea and most of the people are either indifferent or are okay with it. You're just gonna have to deal with it.
