  1. This romance stuff is causing way too much controversy. This is a video game to have entertainment with and all these "romance options" are doing is creating controversy and drama where there is none. You have different people with different opinions on each far side of the spectrum here kicking and screaming. Relationships and romance options do not belong in video games. Period. Any video game. Romance that is man and man, man and woman, man and droid, woman and woman, human and alien, whatever it is should not be a main focal point of the game. I'm not trying to go out of my way to have cyber sex with my companion so I feel loved in my head. Sure, you should be able to gain affection points with them, to the point of very good friends and somebody you trust. But to continuously add romance options to characters and dialogue, WITH things that are highly controversial for our world which I think they are trying to prove a point in their games, with companions is completely dumb and not even a good point to make for your game. There's something larger here by them putting romance into games. Something they are trying to do. Anyway, the romance is in. There is nothing we can do about it. But nobody is saying gays shouldn't have an option here in this game to romance a same sex partner. You are making it out that way and nitpicking to put words in people's mouth. A lot of people are saying it's stupid to have ANY type of ANY romance options in a video game. It is meaningless to me. But as I have said in my post before. I understand that some may find comfort in their new found "love" for their companion. Which, btw doesn't love you they are PROGRAMMED to "love" you by the things you say Take the game for what it is. A form of entertainment. If you seek love, go find it in the world. Don't look for it in a video game because I have said before, when that video game is gone, are you going to keep running from video game to video game looking for the "one" again? No, you need to do it in real life. There are MANY people who don't judge these days. It is up to you to find out who they are, seek them out and a bond can be made Don't set your emotions on a video game too much. That's not healthy. Too much time has been concentrated on the "romance" or "flirt" options for any gender I don't care who it is! Too much time has been bickering, fighting, moaning, marching, petitioning and arguing about new romance options. This isn't a soap opera. This isn't a drama series. This isn't a theater production on stage with strong emotions or an opera. SWTOR is a video game, not a political statement. And if you want to make it a political statement about things that happen in our world and you can't understand this is a made up universe in another time very, very, very far way and you WANT to make up in your head there are things that effect them the same way that effect us on Earth, go ahead and think the way you want Please, don't keep making threads about making more romance options for same gender, opposite gender, droid, that's just ridiculous and foolish. Because all it comes down to in the end if you guys have not opened your eyes is this. Sometimes game companies DO push agendas and political statements inside of games, even if they are not trying to. It happens. Especially with BioWare Yes, I realize that homosexual people are vandalized in the real world and called names and you might take comfort in the fact you can "be yourself" to an npc character that "loves" you. But beneath all that denial, anger, oppression, and suffering of your great soul....there is a person. There is somebody that YOU KNOW deep down you have the courage to overcome things in real life. There is you. and nobody can change who you are. Just get over the fact that people hate. People hate me for liking strawberries and snickers ice cream for sake. Now am I going to let that effect me? No lol YOU keep going on for yourself to know what's right for you. Because when you know who you are nothing will ever stand in your way and stop you from being the best person you can be. Go out, even if you are nervous saying who you are, this stands for everyone including gays, do it more. Get better at it. Be comfortable with who you are and good people will follow But please, don't use a video game to interject what you are feeling through an npc that happens to share the same "ideas" you do because it was programmed to receive the information that you just said so "it likes" you more. And if there is a statement to be said by all this, please, do not bring political or social issues that happen on our planet, which is Earth, to a scientific fictional fantasy galaxy that has completely different views and opinions as we do. MMOs should not be about how to be more comfortable with yourself and out yourself of anything, regardless of the topic. They should be about getting off this world. Pretending you are something else, somewhere else completely free and escaped from this planet. That's what roleplaying games are about. Let go of your beliefs the time you play them. Be somebody else. Just go with it That's why it's called "role playing" you are playing a role. Not of yourself but of different kinds. I understand lots of you play yourself through your character but I know some of you still play your character like you are a better person. A more understanding person or the person you always wanted to be. Please don't use games to overcome things or gain confidence in anything. It is up to you to overcome and gain confidence and if you can't, go seek some help. Meaning that in a good way of course. Listen. To the people who understand things wrong. Nobody is upset at your opinion deep down. Everybody knows everybody has their own opinion and those that can't accept it, is a fault of them NOT you. If you keep bickering and moaning about it and creating drama, some thrive on that in their lives and create something out of it. It's a game to them. Be who you are FOR YOU IN REAL LIFE. NOT in a video game ok?
  2. Alright guys. Seems there were many misunderstanding about my post and I see nothing but bickering going on here to try and prove each other wrong or try to see your point of view. Just know other people have their own opinions about what something is, how somebody acts. Just as I have my opinion that the forums have been overall more negative than positive, even though as of late they have been going in the right direction, other might seem differences. Threads seem to get derailed, off topic or thrown off course into mindless bickering and drama where there should be none about a game, that when you are on the forums paying for it, should be liking and giving great suggestions/feedback. There should be a happy, healthy, positive and optimistic player driven base for any given game that makes it a wonder to play AND go to the forums. My goal, the reason I came onto the forums and the reason why I'm getting more involved is because I believe more positive feelings and thoughts can come into discussion here. Without being degrading to the game, the developers or any other community members. Let's respect each others' opinions for if we don't, it will fall deeper into the hole of negative vibes. We don't want that. Nobody does. Yes, to some of you. "All puppy dogs and rainbows!" that is true. Most of the time, that is how an optimist thinks. Because they make it that way for them, in their mind, so they feel better about the situation that is unfolding in front of their eyes. The key to being optimistic and positive is being realistic, logical and rational all while thinking of the best outcome or idea possible in what situation is presented to you. It's all in your mind. It's all a mindset. Like Star Wars to Light, dark, neutral. In the end, the light will always prevail. Light = Optimism, positive feelings. That's what it is to me. Of course this is my opinion also because I'm writing it So let's not let this forum swing towards the dark side more I am here to help. So let's keep threads more on topic. Let's not derail things to another subject. Don't be so quick as to think everyone is trolling just because they share an opinion. Read it. Think. Be more rational, civilized, logical, happy and overall share our feelings in a decent, thoughtful manner to respect both your inner good energy and other people's energy
  3. Well this went completely off topic in a hurry.
  4. Time to move on past the point where people moved away from the game. It's been years now. Lots of people are playing this game and it's getting better each patch
  5. Well then. Bad part on those 2 million and they won't be around to see the game grow up more Can't have everything on the first day
  6. Yes Annabeth It is a great game and getting better and better each update! You need to see the game for what it is. It's own game. Not try and make it out to be something it's not. Have good expectations, those of which are positive. But not TOO high, remembering to stay within the realms of being realistic
  7. Perhaps you should understand what positivity and optimism are and look at the posts I make. Then you can see. But nice trying to derail the good vibes. You can post in my "state of the game" thread which i nothing but rational and logical optimism while being realistic. That's where I lay it all out nicely. No, I don't tear down others that don't like the game. I understand they have their own opinions just like I have mine If you think this is a propaganda piece, you don't know what propaganda is. "bode well for my thread?" I'm not trying to get a certain amount of hits. Oh and also to the fellow Jedi. Yes, the light side shall prevail always. Even if it doesn't look like it at the time. In the end, the light always wins.
  8. Might as well delete most of the users then Positivity and optimism isn't a bad thing as well as some funnies.
  9. I am glad you are enjoying yourself and find SWTOR to be a good game that you get entertainment out of Also, good job being positive. I for one hope you stay with us even longer and continue to grow with this great game
  10. The positive vibes and optimism will and must continue Overall, the forums should be more positive. Yes, it has gotten better, but even more
  11. Well, since it is my post I thought I would add an opinion as to what I think the game is. To me, it is a great, well balanced, fun mmorpg Perhaps maybe to some of you you don't like it and are here because you like Star Wars and want to see the game turn around (if you don't like it) or are waiting for something big that really grabs your attention. I understand that. But to me, for what I see and yes Andryah you know to, a lot of threads are dismal and/or negative in the view of this game. Yes, they have gotten better as of late, but the goal for all of us should be to make it more positive overall and maintain the optimism going forward. I have yet to see a positive post on this thread
  12. Hello everyone. I hope you all are well. Star Wars: The Old Republic is a fun, well balanced, great mmorpg with great stories, lovely cutscenes, great companions and overall a fun and enjoyable atmosphere created a lot by the players in game However, as you cross over to the forums, you will see there are many dismal, degrading, whining, bickering posts that do nothing sometimes but cause chaos, destruction, hate, anger, rage, trolls, drama where there is none. Constructive criticism has all but vanished here. We need to pay more attention to making ourselves better on the forums while we give feedback, suggestions or just plain discuss whether we agree or disagree with something I know many do not agree with each other at times and sometimes it becomes an off topic bickering fest of ultimate destruction. Many viewpoints are brought up within the post. Let's remember to stay on topic of the post and agree/disagree in a more civilized, decent, respectable manner for everyone's sake Recently though, I have seen a change for the better. It is MUCH better than this time last year or any other, but it's mostly still dismal and negative. Let's change that so we make this a better place Let's make Star Wars: The Old Republic's game forums the best game forum there ever was. Let's give great feedback with positive views and see things more optimist for both ourselves and others, for an overall general well being on here. The main goal is to have discussions. Not pointless argue matches. Now! Let's start making the forums a better place. Bye everyone and I hope you take this seriously. Edit: I have changed the title to be a more understanding and non petition since that is against the forum rules and frowned upon. I was just poking fun with my recent one That's all
  13. Another misunderstanding. Did you actually just accuse me of seeing it as a mental illness? Where did I ever say anything to the ludicrous statement that you just said. If you read the whole post you would have understood. But you were too busy misinterpreting what I said to fit your view what you think that I said, which I never even came close, You should be happy with who you are and don't need to please anybody. But be rational, don't accuse and know others have opinions to. Please, don't make it out into something that I did NOT say. Thanks P.S. This has already taken too much of my time. I made my post into a constructive, understanding and positive post. I am not going to have people accuse me of things I never said. I am leaving this thread now and I suggest you all who share different viewpoints do the same. I have concluded this is just completely ridiculous by saying BioWare is being discriminatory charging for SGRA companions. I'm out. Goodbye and I hope you all end it well First step is admitting you have a problem. That goes for anyone, any gender, any race, any sexual preference. Think I made that pretty clear. Please, do not twist my words into your liking to benefit your situation. Thanks
  14. Alright. It seems there are greatly different viewpoints on this issue. Yet again, just like other threads that are on here and it seems my post has been misunderstood and looked upon in a negative light. Which, in fact, I was not trying to do. This is all a misunderstanding. The reason I said "political, moral or social issues shouldn't be in a video game" is because we shouldn't drag what we have in this world and screw things up in the virtual world. Now that is not, repeat not saying, that SGRA is screwed up. It is just best to leave it out of the virtual world we all love so there are no complications and we can all have fun without any arguments about things that are obviously in this world reflected in the game. I understand that a homosexual person would want to have a relationship inside a game because they have been burned by homophobic people in real life and not feel comfortable to do it again. Know that putting things into a video game to solve in real life problems is not a way to make yourself feel better about things or start doing things. It's just an excuse. Simply putting a lesbian or gay character in a video game just because you can't get one in real life doesn't solve the issue of that person not being able to get one in real life. Same goes for a heterosexual person. It's the exact same principle. It's a game, meant for fun. Treat it as such But don't use it as too MUCH of an outlet to drive on the shoulder past your problems. If a person has that much lack of confidence, that much remorse in them, that they have been made fun of too many times, or called names, or hit just because they were different, you can't just go into a video game to make your problems disappear and say "oh, I'm in another galaxy, all my problems are gone". That's not the right way to do it. You have to grab life by the horns if you feel down, and if stuff is bothering you, you have to confide in either yourself or somebody else who shares the same views you do or makes you feel comfortable. Because what happens when that game is no longer around? What happens to your self esteem and yourself when your virtual character is no longer there and you can't have a relationship with your npc character? You will have nothing to fall back on and perhaps you will break down and feel even LESS comfortable with yourself Everybody wants to feel loved. No matter who you are. All the time. Even the most hate filled, angry, person wants love deep down. Finding it in a video game is no way to live your life looking for love. If you have issues finding somebody, straight or gay, then YOU need to work on that in real life. Not go into a game looking for a specific relationship and say "hey, im gonna date this npc! i LOVE him" No, you don't love him. You love IT. The idea of it. You love the idea of somebody loving you back and everybody does. Saying the right things at the right time. Running around the galaxy together. Making all these things up in your mind. It's programmed into the game to get you to play more so you give them more money It's not genuine love nor should it be thought of like that. It's a game. It's not reality. It is made up of your decisions you made to get them to talk to you nicely that determined the outcome to get your character to love you or not. It is directly set. Make no mistake. The virtual world should not reflect what goes on in this world. Sure, your character is a reflection of you sometimes and sometimes it's somebody you want to roleplay completely different! But having your issues go onto your character is doing a disservice to yourself and will just get your less prepared for your problems in the real world in the future. In no way shape or form, because you are romancing an npc in game, will it suddenly make you get a partner in real life. Now, that's not say some people prefer to romance inside a game that is made up and not deal with people anymore. Or they feel they can't be themselves in real life and play out scenarios in which they wish they could but they just...can't in real life. That is a self esteem and self confidence issue there. Don't blame the game for not having what YOU want just because YOU have issue and cannot do it in real life. Blame yourself, but don't feel sorry for yourself. The first step is admitting you have a problem. But don't think of it as a "problem" think of it as just something you have to work on It doesn't matter what other people think of who YOU are. It only matters of what you think of yourself. If you keep living your life trying to prove to others you are somebody you are comfortable with and make them, in a way, share your views, you are going to keep barking, being angry, mad, upset your whole life because there will be people 100 percent that will never, ever, ever share the same views you have. And there are some people, once they see you are comfortable with yourself, they will always find something to try and bring you down because they aren't happy with themselves It doesn't matter who you are. It matters who you are comfortable being. If you are comfortable with yourself, have enough confidence, know there are others that won't share your same opinion on subjects you love, they might hate, then everything else will just fall into line Be positive, optimistic, rational and logical. Yes sometimes you can joke and don't be to thinned skinned for jokes cause it's just for funnies, but know some may not like it. Just accept it. You can't change people. Also, be a person of honor, courage, commitment, sacrifice and respect for both yourself and others for the overall general well being of existence.
  15. Political, social or moral issues do not belong inside of video game where we all play to have fun and escape the real world. That should be it. This is a non issue
  16. You know all to well that the addition of SGRA inside this game came from real world issues and people fighting to get what they wanted. Don't sit there and pretend it's because of a lore issue inside Star Wars. Please don't do that. Talking about the Republic and Empire is talking about what sides you support and want in the game because the are the two main sides in the galaxy of Star Wars. They aren't political issues in real life that we are arguing over. Also, know the force is not a religion. The force is an energy field created by all living things. It does not have a god. Nor is it preached like a religious force.
  17. I have stated what needed to be said in my post in regards to the nature of this topic. I have been reading through the "rules of conduct" yet again and no, I did not misread here it is in plain sight. Yet again. http://prntscr.com/1izr1t As you can see, I underlined where it specifically says what rules SGRA threads are breaking. If so BioWare, I feel you must enforce your rules then if you aren't already doing so. That is being a hypocrite. You know that You can't say "abide by our rules" and them break them yourself. Hmmmm
  18. BTW. I would like to state something here. I have noticed looking through forum rules again that anything pertaining to real life political or social issues aren't allowed on the forums. Correct me if I'm wrong. But isn't talking about this against the forum rules because it is a social issue from the real world? Or is this an exception or something? Thanks.
  19. Real life political, social or moral issues do not belong inside a video game. Period. I can understand why some people would want SGRA and they feel left out. But you must understand. This is a completely different world in the game. It's a completely different universe. You need to see that nothing our world stands for should be brought upon in the game. I get why you would get mad also if you feel like there's nothing for you in the game due to romance because you see things in a different way. That does not mean you can come on to a game and force social, moral or political views onto the gaming company/community and if they do not abide by your wishes you will boycott them, never play their game again, or simply make threads that are lashing out and throwing temper tantrums that you can't get your way. That is not right. That is not how things get done and that is not how mature people should do things. I know it's nice to have YOUR thing in game and you feel accomplished and/or remembered like you fit in now. Just know that more people than just you play this game. A lot of people feel the need to not have our wordly political, moral and social issues in this game and I agree with that. It is ridiculous to even think real life issues that effect us this day will find it's way into video games that are supposed to be escapes from this world. Of course everybody has a voice and everybody wants to be heard. Especially on issues as delicate as social issues. But you must understand, not everyone shares your views. Not everyone needs to agree with SGRA inside video games that they play to escape the real world a lot of the time. You should really stop trying to force this upon people and game developers when you don't get your way. It's irrational, illogical, immature and has no right being the gaming community. Just as other understand your viewpoints, I hope you understand why others see SGRA absence as no really big deal. They are npc pixelated, computer generated characters with voices. It is not real life. You are not having a real relationship with somebody here. It is a character in a video game meant to be played for fun and to escape this world for many. Use your energy to have a relationship with somebody in the real world, not in a video game. I will reiterate: Real life political, moral or social issues do not belong inside a video game. Period.
  20. I would love to see Endor. I love huge forests. I never understood the hate for Gungans or Ewoks. I think a lot of people don't really hate them, it's just a bandwagon thing. It's cool to hate them for some reason. I support Endor.
  21. Hello! I am glad you have been playing since launch like many others here so that you can have your own great opinion about this game. I am very grateful that you are a positive person and optimistic thinker. That makes me feel very happy because i have been trying to bring a lot more positivity and optimistic here Thank you for being that way. I agree with you on SWTOR going in the right direction and having lots of potential. Now that more money is being threaded to the game with the Cartel Market, the developers can and will focus on more things that will make this game better. The present and future look very bright for SWTOR as well as the players on the game It is running smooth and more bugs are being ironed out and fixed! Everything does have seem to be very different among every planet. I love the diversity as well. It seems every time you go to another place, it's completely different than the last one you are at. It's really something when in one game there can be so many different choices and environments. I hope, when they keep making more planets, that they change them up like the ones we have now. It's refreshing to go some place else and see difference in things Awesome! That's all I can say about this game to. It has voice acting. It has kotor 1 and 2 music. It has music from the Star Wars movies. It has choices I can make in real time with my character. It has cutscenes where I see MY character talking when on a mission. Even the non story missions are amazing because they are their own little stories within themselves. I really enjoy the voice acting as well and can't wait to see what else they have in store for us Leveling experience is the best in this mmo. It doesn't feel like leveling, it feels like a movie! Which I LOVE I agree. I believe this game is headed in a great direction. It has really sprouted from a young, unused game into a fully sprouted mmorpg with lots of options that keeps on going on and on with getting more ideas, updates, a better community (even though sometimes some are dismal, and I understand why ) and developers that are doing more to please us while we play the game. I am glad there are more positive posts among the negatives. More people need to do that. You should be proud of yourself that you are an optimist and see things for the good not the bad. Seeing things for the bad all the time leaves you in a bad mood all the time. But seeing things in a positive, optimistic, rational, logical sight will make you, and those around you, a better person for the overall general well being of existence Keep being positive people! Make great posts that suggest things, give great ideas and keep looking to the future and be happy.
  22. Hello. For you to see good side by side comparisons here is this video It shows different places where you can CLEARLY see the difference. The other poster is correct. It is not really something you can see in a video or pictures. You have to witness it for yourself. It truly is remarkable looking and makes the game look SO SO much better. It needed this. Everything seems more detailed to I look forward to patch 2.3 Especially with the graphics changes. Just a few more days left
  23. I hope, for me bringing some optimism, rational input, positivity with being logical on these forums, there are some cookies for me in there somewhere
  24. I believe as this game continues to grow and grow and the ideas get realized, that in time, we will have guild ships. I am certain of it. Just takes time. Be hopeful and positive of the outcomes of the future but also be rational. It is very likely that it will happen Just a matter of when
