I have a custom desktop, but I need a laptop for when I'm at the g/fs or on the road.

Could use some community input, if you all don't mind. I'm looking to buy a gaming laptop in the $2000-$3000 range and was wondering if anyone had any ideas. I was leaning Alienware M17x, but I've read some luke-warm reviews and now I'm not sure. Thanks
