  1. Actually....no. A decent Frost mage, having DPS problems in "look, it's trash mobs BLIZZZZZARD!" raids? LOLNOPE.

Pssh. More like "If you don't rank X or higher on the DPS list, /wave bye-bye" is what I was seeing. It wasn't even a case of minimum DPS in what I was seeing...and I wasn't one of those bads. (Though after Wrath, life got interesting if you wanted to stay frost-specced.)

If it's that easy, why worry about "carrying" people or even that the content is so easy?

Besides, my personal favorite example of meter-derping was a simple (early on) Obsidian Sanctum run. Know I'm doing well, raining down Blizzards on the adds which are getting pulled right to the main mob, I'm going to have a nice solid Recount of....dead last. ***? No drops for me, cause I'm apparently bad.

Finding out later that it was the guy running the raid who'd have his buddies do a Recount hacking to up their DPS (and hence guarantee themselves loot, since that's how they divvied the drops- best got first choice, etc...) was...enlightening. Yep, you could script false data entries via macros into Recount and voila, suddenly your DPS (or HPS) shot up faster than you could say "new tier of gear". Look it up sometime.

Yeah, I was carrying the "baddies" alrighty. Never ran with them again, group apparently got name changes and transferred off the server with plenty of ill-gotten gains, including a few that should have been mine by fair play.

You learn where the real baddies are in a guild when you hit a wall and start rotating new people in to see how things go. Meters just let you superoptimize past human recognition of differences, and that superoptimization in turn means that the devs build difficulty to match it...at which point, we're in cookie-cutter land and everyone plays the One Build and the One True (insert Tank/DPS/Healer) Classes Or Else.

Been there. Smelled that. It stinks.

You are so full of **** it's ridiculous.

  2. Perhaps by having watched friends doing dungeons, having read reviews and watched sum youtube gameplay.. I've seen enough to know it isn't a game i would enjoy.

Don't misunderstand, This clipping funny! Not something i necessarily consider a flaw.

This reminds me of another screenie i made just yesterday.

It's funny that you think that, because TOR is a worse version of WoW. It's the exact same game.

  3. The amount of people that post 'i was in beta' is starting to make me suspicious.

Beta was closed, save for the open beta weekends they did right before launch.

And I am guilty as well as many others of not posting bug reports, etc because I was playing.

Why are you lying about being in the beta bro?

  4. The original reason MMO bosses were given enrage timers was to prevent healer stacking to trivialize the content.

i.e. a 16 man boss without an enrage timer with 1 tank, 12 healers, and 3 DPS would take a long time to kill but nobody would ever die and the fight would be a joke.

  5. If you call WoW difficult, you don't know difficult. They dumbed WotLK wayyyy down then amped it up a fair bit for Cata. Everyone got used to facerolling everything and then got thrown for a loop. The first month or two for cata was fun for me, I went back to my grinding like I did in in classic and easily outdamaged people with far better gear than I had.

Then I quit due to boredom with raiding and instancing.

I assume you killed Algalon before the ToGC patch? Yogg 0? Tribute to immortality? HLK before 30% buff?

    Didn't think so.

Everyone who claims WoW was/is too easy was a normal mode raider.

  6. Success to me means whether or not I enjoy the game. Pretty simple definition. Though I made that point earlier and someone responded with "this game is fail!" To which I switched to a business level of success. If you don't like it, quit and go find something you do like. Personally, I do like the game and consider it a success. There's plenty I complain about, but adding more customization and more fluff isn't one of them regardless of whether or not someone can craft or purchase a color crystal that I got in my rakata weapons. Good for them if they enjoy it. My ego doesn't hinge on how much better I think I am at the game than everyone else.

    This game is fail though.
