  1. I love it... "back in my day, I had to walk 2 miles to school, in the snow, uphill both ways!"

How is that ridiculous argument relevant at all whatsoever?

I played online games across BBS lines with a 14.4k modem (yeah, getting old). I played PSO. I played WoW. Now it's 2012 and the world's going to end in December, thanks Mayans.

Cake is a lie; there is only pie.

As ridiculous as someone using a 7 year old game in their defense maybe?

You do realize that EQ1 is still releasing expansions and STILL has followers correct? So before you go and say it's a dead game that no one cares about, it's still active and valid.

  2. I've had a WZ pop every 10 minutes at least on Krayiss Obelisk on Empire side. It's probably your server.

Also I do believe Bioware will probably come out with Server clusters to PvP with to pick up the queues.

People need to give them time to work this stuff out.

WoW and Rift went through this when they had low PvP queues, now Bioware will probably do the same as well.

Just don't expect it to be over night.

  3. Again I have nothing to do and your so wrong.

I have every datacron in the game including the +10s.

Companion Affection has been maxed out for weeks.

I am crafting and whats so interesting about that. I am max crafting skill I have so many Purple reciepes it's funny and can hardly sell them for some reason.

I do not buy a MMO to Roleplay, gimmie a break.

And I already answered why I am not rolling another toon.

Looks like it's time for you to unsub and go outside for a few months. Come back when there is "more to do."

If you've already achieved all of this, have you tried the PvE side? Do you Raid or just PvP?

I have seen the PvP community in just about every game go through their gripes about lack of content, queue times, and stale PvP, because that is literally all they do. They refuse to PvE, which is also a large focus of the game, and end up bored.

I'd say seriously, cancel your sub, go find another game for a bit, come back when you are bored of that one, or not at all.

  4. Any server with pvp population imbalance will find this terrible to complete. This was a good idea how? No caps, no way of stopping the bigger faction from getting bigger and better?

It will get worse before it gets better too...just think of all the kids that will rage and re-roll.

  5. Unfortunately bud, people don't want to hear that. They also have never played a game @ release, which is the cause of all the QQ and the not understanding of how it takes more than a month for things to get figured out/fixed.

This isn't a release only issue. You can't fix faction imbalance without limiting player choice. This is going to be a long standing issue for this game. Not sure how Bioware will handle it, but Empire will most likely dominate a lion share of the subscriptions like every other MMO. Most roll the "evil" or "non do gooder" side. Happened in WoW, happened in Warhammer, happened in Rift, it will happen here.

People will just have to cope with the faction imbalance. Rather re-roll Empire or just deal with the Empire zergfests in the PvP areas.

The one way people tolerated this in Rift was to communicate on the forums and transfer to a specific shard to balance out the population. This was only doable though through Trions exceptional free server transfers though. So don't hold your breath on Bioware giving anything out for free. 5 dollar pre-launch access....nuff said.

  6. Sounds like this game is suffering the same issue Rift did with open world PvP. Too many "defiant" Imperials that the PvP areas have become a boring zergfest.

It got so bad on some servers in Rift that even full 20 man pre-mades were getting trumped by 50-60 defiant and chased out of world events, and daily areas.

I know it got so bad toward the end that you literally could not step out of a porticullum in 50 areas without getting annihilated by some zerg pvp guild camping a 50 town.

So yeah I feel the republics pain on this one, and quite honestly it's why I rolled imperial. I'm not making the same mistake twice.

  7. I can't wait for more QQ about faction imbalance. I already see republic crying about not being able to do Ilum due to the numbers of empire on most servers.

World PvP is generally unbalanced and boils down to who can mob up more.

You bring more to the battle field you win, so it becomes less about engaging pvp and more about zerging and camping.

  8. When they do implement server transfers I hope they do them ala Trion and have them be free. I have a hard time justifying a price tag after how easy and smooth Trion's server transfers were with no charge. Not to mention they were once a week and to just about any destination as long as the server wasn't full.
  9. You will have a proc for shadow strike ready along the way anyway, so just shadow strike instead of that DS.

If only CS wouldn't look that lame.:\ I'm getting annoyed, I'm running around in a skirt and doing that spinning melee throw with my lightsaber... Amy more lame habits I could take up?

Drinking Cosmopolitans and saying everything is fabulous?

  10. Why would they ever do server transfers? If anything that is a paid option that took WoW what 5 years to get? I do not even remember since I never used it until way after they started offering it.

If anything they will force combine servers, it will never be something we have a say in. I do believe servers need to be combined to make many low servers into one very heavy/near full server.

Server transfers? Try 2 years from now, if that.

Because Server Transfers allow you to transfer to your friends that may have moved to another server.

Server transfers may have taken blizzard years to implement and throw a hefty price tag to it, but Trion had server transfers available with in the first few months of the games existence AND made them FREE.

I don't understand the logic that server transfers are bad....

  11. Can we be expecting server transfer capability soon?

I am on what seems to be a dying server, and there don't seem to be too many people playing in the evenings. Yeah I know it says standard, but I am super hard pressed to do much of anything with anyone outside of guild anymore.

I'd also love to be able to transfer to other friends.

Will we be expecting this feature any time soon? Also will you take the customer friendly Trion approach and allow free transfers once per week, or are you going to go the money grabbing Blizzard way and charge an arm and a leg for transfers?

  12. IGN taske money on big games. They are not legit.

Just about every major gaming site does this. If the company has the money and the popularity expect them to get a great review on all their games, because their company is probably funding that gaming site.

I don't know why people honestly care about what some other supposed gaming professional thinks. Make up your own opinions and just go from there.

  13. I dont get people like you. You cancelled the sub , put it in the sig as a statement i presume. then come on the forum giving bad comments on posts like you want to evoke the fire some more? What do you try to achieve?? Will you really feel better if you can drag other people in your negativism?

Yeah that's what people like him do.

  14. The number of arrogant posters in this thread is remarkable. They're talking as if this game has been out for months. There hasn't even been a major patch yet and you guys are already complaining about the mass number of bugs. Every MMO launch to date has had bugs and problems and SWTOR is no exception.

I feel a lot of people complaining about this game never played a MMO besides WoW and a bunch of f2p games, and probably NONE of them played EQ before it got overhauled. If they did then I see no reason as to why such comments are popping up about SWTOR.

Stop showing your ages with such childish remarks. SWTOR will prosper once the bugs and problems are sorted out in time, and if you don't like the game as it is now then go back to your dying WoW, we wont miss you one bit.

Pretty much the way I look at it. I understand people want something they buy to be 100% what they like and with 0 faults. Unfortunately that's not always the case with video games.

I've played a large number of the MMOs that have been released, and all launches are similar it seems. It all looks like this:

Kids whine because they can't get or didn't get what they want

Kids flame and troll the forums once they are gone

Game finally finds its player base 3 months or so after launch

Community plays the MMO and are better off without all the whiners

We just have to wait out the spergy WoW kiddies and all will be well.

  15. Is it? Why are they decomming servers then?

There are still tons of servers with good pops, and tons of people playing. Tons of guilds still raiding, and tons of fans still making blogs and fan sites.

I have not heard anything about them shutting down any servers atm. Nothing official from Trion themselves. So not too sure where you are getting your info from.

Besides, even if they did, it wouldn't be an issue, because their servers are too numerous for the amount of players they have. It will only help the remaining community if they collapse a few of them. I think they are still rocking about 500k subscribers, which is still a fair amount at the end of the day.

As long as a few servers are still up and they are making a profit enough to still churn out content it's good enough for me.

I still raid in Rift, and it's end game currently kills WoWs end game.

  16. LOL Rift is still going strong and has a decent player base...I hope the game ends up like Rift tbh...We get rid of all the annoying WoW kiddie whiners, and we get a good community...seems like a win win in my book.

Also love how people think Rift failed, when it is still going pretty strong. It may not have 13 million sperging *******, but it does have a solid community, and it is a great game.

  17. i sure can,

vanilla rag was much harder. do you have any idea the amount of hours it took to farm the elemental fires to get the fire resist for 40 people?

not to mention find 40 people that were good? pfft heroic rag 25 people? easy mode

Old rag's mechanics are laughable to today's standards.

What you are talking about is an artificial road block, a grind implemented in the game that was designed to be a progression wall. If you didn't have the fire resist it was an issue.

Having to gear for resist is not a difficulty check, it is a gear check / grind check.

So the proper term would be it was more time consuming, not difficult.

  18. Many ways this is possible.

Rift has one fatal flaw, its class mechanics are to similar to World of Warcraft's, its also a big strength if they can come up with better boss mechanics.

Lets face it, there is only so many ways a group of developers can think to make a boss different, Rift players are also young ( new game ) compared to the 6 year vets of WoW where nothing seems new even the Deathwing encounter.

Young players? Most the community in Rift are old WoW players and EQ2 raiders. It's filled with some of the most senior MMO players that I've known.

Also they've completely reworked a lot of class mechanics since launch and much the "similarity" is gone.

I played wow for 6 years before I quit for rift, and I'd have to say I thoroughly enjoyed most the raid content Rift put out.

  19. So 2 weeks after the release, all PvE content has been beaten:

    http://swtor.irae-guild.de/7-news/392-eternity-vault-55-nightmare-8-man

PvP related: T2 violet artifact stuff being done randomly to everyone in bags.

So now everyone is almost full stuff T2 PvP grinding to level 60 PvP to get even better stuff randomly in better bags.

Yes, they apparently forgot to hire a game designer :)
