  1. It's a damn channeling ability. If I'm Force Lightning you, I'm effectively doing nothing else but snaring you and dealing a moderate amount of dps. I can still be cc'd while doing it, focus'd while doing it, killed while doing it, etc. You don't just instantly explode while i do it, you don't get a lightning explosion meter that fills us causing you to self-combust or something. What is the issue?

We actually don't have huge burst, I have no idea what the hell you are talking about, we have decent sustained damage, but not 5k-6k crits like other classes unless your opponents are all level 11 in garbage. 2. Our healing while being useful isn't near what you say it is. 3. Purge ability doesnt' work on over half the things people seem to think it does. 4. Static Barrier is good, however 2-3 thousand damage really isn't that much when things can drop 3-4 5k hits in a row on you (which has happened to me quite a few times) 5. Outheal most DoT's with Dark Heal? Uhm, yeah cause sitting there spamming my first heal on someone/myself is a productive use of time. Also, if you're saying the full duration of a dot is cleared up with dark heal, you do realize then that i'm required to not be topped off for a bit of time while it's dealing it's damage right? 6. Abilities cost very few force..... We have no real melee abilities, Sorcs/Sages fill the Caster niche of this game. Our force is our mana pool. If we used 6 abilities and ran out of force we could literally do nothing for the next 10-20 seconds. 7. Sprint+Shield is very good and is potentially abusable in certain situations. They are also our ONLY real defensive mechanism. Aside from those we have a tiny stun, a beakable CC that is broken all the time by teammates, a knockback that if used at the right time can be good in Huttball but is usually pretty terrible anywhere else. For most purposes we are mirrors of Sages (aside from Project sucking for them compared to our pretty much instantaneous lightning mirror ability) For those people who say, omg, 3 sorcs were force lightning me and i couldn't move and was cc'd by them and it's op and blah blah blah. You do realize that 3 of any class on you pretty much equals you should die right? I've had 3 Assassins pop on me in huttball and i basically died in about 1.5 seconds through barrier from full. Took so many 5-6k crits in that span i thought i was back in WoW. Also had multiple juggernaughts on me when i was carrying the ball once, it's fun getting force choked like 4 times in a row while constantly getting beaten down through heals by everything that was able to catch me due to the stun on choke. I'd also like to send a postcard to my resolve bar since it's always on vacation or something. TLDR. Sorcs are not OP, players who are good are, People though are generally very whiney apparently.
  3. Funny post. OP is trying to show that teamwork is key as opposed to everyone being 50. People mocking/calling BS on OP are probably people who actually agree with him on the main point, but are still disagreeing most likely just because they viewed the post as a bragging post. I love mmo forums

  5. Wonder if OP realizes that the level 50s have no choice. They queue up, end up in the WZ and play. That's it.... It's not like they currently have the option to queue up for level 50 specific WZs and they skip those just to gank lowbies. OP obviously wants the level 50s to lay down and die to him or just proceed past him which doesn't work. Good job OP.
  6. DaoC as well. Only game I've played where a group of 8 people could drop a group of 40 if they positioned and coordinated themselves well. Wiping zergs was epic, as was gank groups vs each other. People would talk to each other all the time in forums and if your group encountered another group in the room and had an epic fight it wasn't uncommon for your group to shift to their vent for some friendly banter about the fight. Best memories I have with pvp by far. Lol at this from the wiki entry.   7. Unless DoT damage is calculated in some screwy way it shouldn't really matter and i'm not quite sure what the other guy means by initial burst. If you read the spells, they say they do X damage over Y time. To make this simple, let's do 1500 Damage over 15 seconds with a tick every 3 seconds. So we have 5 total ticks at this rate so each has to be for 300 damage to get the 1500 damage total. Now if your DoT spell has an additional %20 damage multiplier, then it would be 1.2 x 1500 = 1800. So now all dot ticks are 360. If it's applied after the damage is divided by the ticks then it would still be 360 (hence why i'm confused as to what the other guy said). I'd assume the dots have normal crit chance every time they tick as well so your damage could be higher than the 1800 obviously. Anyone know if you can resist a DoT tick? Or would you just resist the initial casting of the dot?
  8. Does Force Ligntning count as a periodic damage ability in regards to the talents like Parasitism, Deathmark, Creeping Death? IE: Do you get +20% more damage if teh debuff from deathmark is up? If you crit with FL and have Parasitism, do you get health back/etc? Or is just from Affliction/Crushing Darkness/Creeping Terror?
  9. You were tied for last in objective points! Therefore I deduce that you were trying to prove a damage point instead of help YOUR team win the WZ. Stop being a bad teammate for the sake of a forum spat! You make your WZ mates cry. J/K I mostly agree with your points although the OP does have a fair amount of reasoning for his choices as well. Largely this will be preference especially when we find out the overall changes as the game progresses and expertise (resilience), alarcity (haste), crit (arrow to the knee), all get stacked to show us where we will all be at for the endgame pvp. At some point when stats build up and such it's quite possible what's best at the end will change.
