  1. The reason why these attacks are "instant" hit or miss, and not a calculated trajectory, is due the simple fact that it takes quite some resources to perform these calculations. If you want a good example of how this works and the resources required, try playing Supreme Commander. This game calculates each individual unit movement and fired shot to determine if something gets hit by something. The demand of resources on systems is quite huge. So big in fact that PIV CPU simply freezes up after 30 mins of game play. Dual Core were the absolute minimum to play this game online even. And it's already several years old. As for the "dice" factor, this is a basic math algorithm relying on one or more "random" variables to mimic chance. I'm quoting the random here because there is no such thing as a truly randomly generated number on a computer. They always come from a fixed table, what you decide is the entry point in that table. But the hit and miss is just a basic formula (wel basic.....) that relies on your stats and the opponent's stats, including some integral calculations to determine the result. Then this result is matched against a random range. So basically if the entire calculation comes up with 0.7 for example, indicating you have 70% chance to hit, then the system would generate the random number. if the number falls between 0 and 0.7 you would score a hit, otherwise a miss.
  2. Tbh, dont pay attetion to these people or posts. There will always be people that complain about everything and rant about how things are bad, unfair or whatever. If you are having fun in the game, then that is all that matters.
  3. We're not talking about the CE petm but the one found on hothm which has been confirmed by Bioware to be ingame
  4. Am I missing something or are we the only healing class that has no combat ressurection at the moment? Our team is just starting with the hard modes and we often get our butts kicked on these enounters. The reason why we wipe is because our interupter for example dies and we cannot ressurect him during combat.... Is this an oversight perhaps on the class design, or do we as mercenary have some kind of advantage in healing that others do not have?
  5. Are you sure you've got the talent that reduces threat generated from healing spells? I've never pulled aggro by healing our tank, even when he jumps in and I start spamming him under with my spells.
  6. Feel free to hunt me down, i'll simply go "ROCKET TO THE FACE" on you. I don't get how you conclude we're a fanboy tbh. I'm paying for this game, so I just want what i'm entitled to.
  7. This is what my account says : You have 0 days of play time remaining. When your play time runs out, you will be billed automatically. You are subscribed to a 90 day recurring plan. You will be billed on 01.19.2012. We have a VISA ending in XXXX expiring XX/XXXX on file. To extend your play time, you can also redeem a Game Time Code.
  8. I've read the requirements to get selected for this founder title, but does the system keep in mind past transactions as well, or does it only look at new transactions starting now? I have a 90 days recurring payment plan and the next billing date is way behind March, and the initial payment is way before this action got announced, so my question: Will the system look at all payments made, or only new ones starting now? If the latter, i'm screwed...
  9. I'll stick to my personal experience and what actually works, regardless of what a benchmark setup says.
  10. darth vader & luke skywalker were partially cyborg......you know, hands chopped off...
  11. Can't say that I disagree. I played SWG since launch, and the vast exploration options are what kept me playing till the servers were closing down. Although swTOR has a vast universe to explore as well, you're still confined to alot of things, and as you said you'll only visit the planets during the leveling. There's the bonus series and class quests that often take you back to several planets, but it's only for short trips, and in my oppinion this is a bit lacking. There's probably alot of things they could have salvaged from SWG, beast handling pops to mind here, but this is swTOR and we'll have to make due with what we have at the moment.
