  1. What a lot of the detractors of the LFG//LFR don't realise is that Blizzard didn't implement LFG/LFR in WoW out of a whim or as a result of the vocal minority in their forums (we know not all players are even aware forums exist). They had data and facts that lead them to understand, and quite sucessfully if you ask me, that is they didn't do something to aleviate the shortage of specific classes within the different servers the lifespan of the game would be greatly reduced. There is a reason why Blizzard is so sucessful. They don't do things to please the vocal minority but the silent majority. What Bioware should have done is take a look at what is currently out there and pick the best features and implement them in game. Look at the state of the AH in SWTOR...its horrendous. You can't search by stat, slot, schematics I don't know, etc. as a result I totally avoid it. This leads me to one huge difference between SWTOR and WoW regarding group content is the current way to form groups, and incidentally the travel distance. Currently we can flag our selfs as looking for group, but unless you are within the same instanced part of the planet/fleet as the person looking for your class you are out of luck. Thus filling the LFG field for BT while questing in Tatooine defeats the point add to that, that there is no automated transfer to assemble the group by the flashpoint/H Quest entrance and it becomes very frustrating and a time consuming exersice. Hence why much of group finding happens in local chat. Getting into a group instance is a lot more difficult in SWTOR that it currently is in WoW. If you are doing quests on a planet, you won't hear the chat in fleet where the flashpoint groups are formed. And if a group form, getting from where you are to the instance entrance isn't all that obvious most of the time. And this is a very annoying issue with Flash Points. Unless you are physically present in fleet there is no way for you to know if someone needs your current class. I don't see how is a benefit to the community that I spend 30-45 minutes standing in one place waiting for other minded poeple, with the need to do the same flash point as me to appear. The emergency fleet pass only works once every 18 hours for those of us that don't have an authenticator, so most of the time you need to "hearthstone" to the spaceport of the planet you are on, and that is on a 30 minutes CD, and then do a lot of running, find the fleet shuttle, if there is one or wait for the multiple loading screens to get from the spaceport via your hangar and your ship to the fleet and then the level where the instances start. And then you have to take the same way back in reverse to continue with your questing after the instance. Not very convenient, and thus there is a lot less group action in SWTOR than it could be. However I digress. The map size on SWTOR is larger by several degrees than that of WoW. Currently if you are on one side of the map in Tatooine it can take you up to 15 minutes to get to where you need to be and this assuming you know where you are going. I don't see how this is a benefit to the community. I have not calculated how long it would take me to go to Fleet from any given planet but I'm sure is also a considerable amount of time given all the loading screen and the fact that the fleet pass has 18 hours CD. That travel time could be spent doing something more fun and social. Cheers,
  2. I was wondering where had I seen the behavior that you are exhibiting and promoting in these forums before and then it hit me. You remind me of this: http://www.nola.com/news/index.ssf/2009/07/loyola_university_professor_be.html You're one of the haters that punish people that play the game by the designers' rules -- Players that choose to disregard any customs set of rules by players, by YOU. I like how you have turned to verbal abuse, hoping I would get offended and I would log off and maybe cancel my subscription so the game can be more like YOU want it. You're out of luck mate. I play the game the way Bioware design it and if by chance you happen to try to label me as a ninja looter in my server, I will report you for harassment & defamation of character & threatening behavior. By labeling me a ninja looting you are effectively organizing, effectuating and participating in an activity that is abusive, hateful, threatening, bullying, defamatory, and that encourages a conduct that violates the TOS. This is not tolerated by Bioware. You have been warned.
  3. Then, we'll just have to agree to disagree as I can see that we're both entrenched in our views as to how an MMO community should be policed and not ready to budge one way or th eother. Hopefully you won't blacklist me because I don't agree with your comments or won't run me out of a server.
  4. The police in our case is Bioware. They should be the ones administering justice, not the community. That is what I'm saying. This players behavior was not perfect but it should have been Blizzard doing the banning and not the community.
  5. As always when someone doesn't have a foot to stand on you are comparing apples to pears. Why would a smuggler roll on heavy gear for themselves? They clearly can not equip it. However Bioware made a game with companions and guess what? Those companions need gear and guess what Bioware made that gear drop from creatures and guess what? those creatures are in dungeons and outside dungeons......... So are you saying that Bioware promotes ninja-looters by designing the game as they did? Why are you victimizing a demonizing me for playing the game as the developers intended? Is it because you're afraid I'm not playing the game as you want me to play it. Think hard.
  6. No. That is not correct. What you prefer is violence. Violence only breeds more violence. There are legal ways of making those abusing you pay for their crime but involves trusting our police and judicial systems to do what we pay them to do.
  7. The day we start taking the justice on our won hands is the day civilization as a whole is over. There is a reason why we call our selves a civilized nation and that is because we don't live any more in the wild west. The community should never be allowed to police themselves.
  8. So basically what you are saying is that Bioware promotes ninja-looting. Is that right? I'm beginning to see a new definition to the word "jerk" to put up in urban dictionary "Khoranth". You are definitively the kind of player this community doesn't need. But I will let others come to that conclusion on their own just by reading the garbage you can actually come up with.
  9. No worries mates. Just exchanging thoughts. No hard feelings. However yes, ignoring the bullies and no jumping off bridges because others do tends to work. If it doesn't that is when you involve higher powers, in this case Bioware and let them apply the law as stated in the TOS. The community should never be allowed to police themselves. We are not mature enough and it leads to abuse of power, slander and bulling
  10. I agree with you. Perhaps my example was a bit narrow minded and should have expanded a little bit more. You're absolutely right that every guild caters to a different need.
  11. I LOL'ed hard at this. So basically if I understood you correctly what you are saying is that Bioware champions ninja-looting by introducing the companion feature? and that by default I am a ninja-looter when I use this particular feature of the game. Is that correct? Please tel me it is, so i can LOL'd more at your expense.
  12. Isn't this the same thing as stalking someone? You actually went to the trouble of finding this guy just to see what he was doing. That sounds very vindictive and really sickening. I don't want players that exhibit this kind of behavior as part of the community. Sorry mate but you need help and not the kind that can be provided in this forums. I just hope you don't have kittens or puppies.
  13. You obviously don't know what I want because you didn't bother to read the post where I stated my case. I surely don't want you policing my server. God forbid that would ever happen. It would be the end of this game as we know it. What I'd love to have is a forum tool that would allow me to kick forum posters like you. Fortunately for you that doesn't exist. If it did there wouldn't be anyone to post on these forums. Cheers,
  14. There is one time when is also to be a wife beater i.e when they don't do what you want them to do...yet those people go to jail. Please stop making senseless comments...you're showing your true colors. Also you should refrain form naming and shaming as it is against the Forum Rules regardless if the said toon still exists or not.
  15. If you where to actually think about what you post you wouldn't have to second guess my posts. Ever stop to think that maybe the ones doing the kicking are actually the ones being jerks? It works both ways you know. Leaving the community to police themselve only results in abuse of power and incites bullies to rise to the surface. I don't need that in this game. Also, since you've raise the matter, if I roll need on an item for my companion, (a game feature introduced and fully supported by Bioware that players are encouraged to use) does that make me a ninja looter or a jerk just because i'm playing the game as the developers intended? Or am I being a jerk or ninja-looter just because I'm not playing the game the way you want the world to play the game i.e YOUR way?
