  1. Ah, my mistake. I seem to have conflated the end of the transfer rewards with the forced transfers. Even so, I haven't been playing at all lately because I don't know how or if my character list will be winnowed.
  2. With the forced transfers now less than a week away, I think it's about time that BW lets us know exactly how they plan to handle having more than 8 characters scheduled to move to the same server. So let's hear it. What's the plan, BW?
  3. If, for example, Main = male marauder Alt = male juggernaut then The PC and companion have the same voice
  4. Totally signed. Edit: However, as far as the additional visual effects you reference from the Force Unleashed, it kind of shafts gun users, as that sort of thing won't be visible in a quick-traveling bolt.
  5. I'm not saying there's no problems. I'm saying you should probably re-take statistics.
  6. I agree. It's kind of a silly thing to break immersion, but my smuggler just does not sound fat enough. He should have the .
  7. Dragon Age had it in spades. Also, there's supposedly going to be M/M in ME3
  8. couldn't be bothered to read the whole thread, so someone may have said this already, but... fixed.
  9. That's the thing, though. I'm not talking about rights or entitlements. I am not saying that THIS NEEDS TO BE IN GAME. I am saying that the opinion that the majority gets its way 100% and that everyone else should just be happy that they have anything at all (where it overlaps with the will of the majority) is a privileged statement. I am not saying that you are uneducated. You could be have a PhD in biochemistry for all I can tell, but that doesn't mean that you're automatically familiar with the concept of privilege. I am not saying that your opinion is morally wrong. I am pointing out why people will disagree with you, and why you should not be shocked when people say that you're showing a privileged opinion.
  10. I do see your points (I think, at least, correct me if I'm wrong), and it seems to be able to be boiled down to utility, alignment, and aesthetics. For utility, I totally agree that we should be able to respec our companions, and as far as implementation goes, it should be relatively straightforward. For alignment, I am a little disappointed that you aren't able to exert a greater deal of influence on your companions. There are a couple of opportunities that I know of, but they're not very common. Implementing something that could affect your companions personalities would likely be rather difficult. Getting more companions sooner, as you say, increases the likelihood that you'll get one that you enjoy, though it would also be near impossible to implement at this point. However, they've made it clear that they are planning on adding additional companions, so it seems easier to change in the future. As for aesthetics, I see no reason that our abilities to customize the way our companions look must be so limited. It turns out we're mostly in agreement here also (I think race, gender and certain features if they're relevant to the companion's story should be unchangeable, however). However, being able to pick from a universal pool of companions is not the right answer, as it degrades class uniqueness and story elements.
