  1. I remember Bang Imps from PoT5 days, cool group of players. PoT5 making a comeback on Harb
  2. I remember running with a few Intrepid peeps from back in the day, fun group of people to pvp with. I just resubbed after being away for almost two years so I might be a little behind in gear and the new meta, but willing to apply for pvp once I catch up.
  3. I agree the OP's pictures don't show the whole picture but people are always quick to say L2P. First off the OP's problem isn't in premades, it's in leavers so he/she's wrong in identification of the root of the problem. Eliminating premades from regs is never going to happen nor should it. From an mmo perspective it's integral to developing a community in that it reinforces guilds and regular interaction with other players that increases usage rates and leads to subscriptions. Leavers on the other hand can be easily resolved with a penalty for quitting, look at WoW or LoL which have 10-15 minute penalties. If you look at ranked WZs, no matter the performance, players rarely ever leave, partially due to both the short duration of arenas and elo. If a leaver penalty was instituted, it likely wouldn't change much in these scenarios, as your team would likely still get stomped ( sorry ) but it would at least force users to participate instead of leaving those who do choose to stay to be stranded in a hopeless wz. In the end players want some type of incentive for playing and that currently is comms or elo. A leaver penalty creates a disincentive for players to leave by reducing the amount of queues and thus possible comms. It wouldn't however encourage players to play competitively necessarily. A possible solution could involve MVP votes as a reward purchase currency, although that would also encourage farming from friends and guilds . Also as a side note, (not defending) but it's impossible to know whether the opposing team's numbers are good or bad especially without the total time of the WZ. You can't look at performance numbers nominally because it's relative and dependent upon opposing team gear, respawn frequency, player leaves etc.

    Serious PvP

Agree with the above, but in terms of specific team comp rather than team queue, I like the below comp and is typically the one I have the most frustration with when vsing, but other people might have a different opinion 1 Scoundrel/Operative Healer 1 Guardian/Juggernaut Hybrid 2 Shadow/Assassin DPS Of course 1 of the dps could be switched out for another class but having 2 shadow/sins really help on locking down a target, and their ability to both effectively DoT a team and burst a single target pressures opposing healers. Merc heals are viable but sage heals aren't going to work in any competitive matchup because they don't have enough HoTs/instacasts or force sustainability. Any guard/jugg playing ranked solo or team should be playing a hybrid role to accommodate for flexible match ups.
  5. If anyone needs a Vig Guardian hit me up.
  6. Overall as far as hybrid Guardian builds go GLM is right, tank or hybrid spec with dps gear is the way to go. I am personally a vig spec guard but have an extra set of tank gear if I need to ball carry or tank in an arena. It's not optimal for every circumstance but gives me flexibility when queueing for anything other than team ranked.
  7. Phuze :S, reminds me of the way old ßalance days
  8. Shards of Alderaan is from PoT5 as well. HVND transferred from PoT5 to harb about a month ago and we have loved it. I just got back from vaca but we regularly have 7-10 people on per night for regs and occasionally run ranked but we haven't been serious about it being distracted by PTS. In the short time I've been on Harb, I would say Intrepid and Wrath of Xedrix are guilds that stick out off the top of my head. HVND is recruiting PVP players, but feel free to pm me in game if you just want to run some wzs.
  9. I play with my monitor off, get on my level nubs.

    Group Ranked

Most of the active players have transferred. There are about 60 of us on Harbinger atm. Just do a /who HVND and most everyone in the guild can send you an invite.
  11. ^ Said it the best. In addition to player ability, this scenario of VG vs Sent is also very dependent upon the objective and whether you are running regs with an organized team. This is also highly dependent upon your team composition. Yolo dpsi'ng sometimes has its purpose as you mentioned for clearing out objectives for the rest of your team whether it's ball control in a huttball or allowing your team to cap a node. A lot of objective scenarios come down to 1v1'ing in a 20 second window before reinforcements arrive, and in this case it really is dependent upon your player ability in a solo situation and less on the class. Overall, VG has more utility and flexibility in spec that would make it more beneficial for playing objectives. That aside, I listed my opinions below under the scenario that there is a VG and sentinel on the team. Node Guarding - Vanguard In most cases as a defender you aren't soloi'ng, rather you are holding out for your team to support. In this case the VG has many more defensive cooldowns regardless of spec that allow it to interrupt caps while cc'd and the range allows it to more easily interrupt caps from afar which is helpful in 1v2 situations. Solo Capping - Sentinel Single target burst + force camouflage. Ball Carrier - Vanguard With a better cc break and defensive cooldowns the VG would be a better ball carrier, while still benefiting from the sentinel's transcendence. Yolo dps'ing - Player Ability
  12. ^ +1. OP is indeed contradicting himself. If you pay for gear then you are effectively reducing the amount of playtime, which in turn lowers usage rates making it harder to sell additional cosmetics and reducing monthly subscription. You also didn't take advantage of the Warzone event, as I was able to full geared a number of alts to full Brut within that time span. Also the gap between Min/Max Obroan and Brut is relatively minor, while being easy to get so if you don't even have the will to grind that, then I'm pretty sure BW giving you pvp gear won't help you at all.
  13. That's what FF, Debilitation, and Shien are for. It's also impossible to main a rotation with MS every 3 seconds because you would need to build focus beyond the initiation and only PB and OS generate Zen Stacks.
  14. This isn't going to happen because then it would take away all the money they make from paid transfers which is basically just a circle of destruction on the POT5 pvp experience. People have been complaining about the PVP pops since the ROTHC release and then eventually paid to transfer to higher pop servers. This just degrades the existing POT5 experience even more and causes more paid transfers. Problem is all the paid transfers don't motivate BioWare to initiate server mergers because then that would just prevent more paid transfers. They have built the perfect snowball effect, and a server merger would basically be taking a blowtorch to it. Sadly, the experience really is that bad to the point where my entire guild just transferred to The Harbinger a few weeks ago. If you don't have characters on any other servers you should definitely consider transferring one because I have had daily solo ranked pops and team ranked will occasionally pop (maybe 2-3 nights out of the week). Regs pop constantly, even up until 5AM EST. Most people are uneasy about the idea of transferring to a PVE server from a PVP one (POT5) but as an exclusive PVPer I'll tell you that you will be much happier. The only difference really is that people can flag themselves off for OWPVP, with the exception of Ilum and Outlaw's Den, but most people don't anyway. Also it doesn't really make a difference considering you will be spending so much time in WZ's that actually pop. Most people are unaware but you can get 1 free character transfer through referral links like mine. Additionally you get free character unlocks and 7 days of subscription while the referer gets 600 cartel coins which could be your friend, or me . The site says that it only works for unsubbed players but it works universally (I'm a sub and got a free char transfer) so anyone can get one.
