  1. Some tweaks here and there are the only real changes ... its mostly just additions + the usual "fix this, break that."
  2. Why was it unbeatable? Torpedoes do a 1 hit kill. Do you know how to use them? You dont need to blow the bridge but either way you can still take out a generator with 3-4 regular missles.
  3. No in game real time parsers available. Possibly (hopefully) never. Too many people like to needlessly be stupid little drama queens in groups and use parsers like Recount to do it. Its perfect the way it is. Those who like to play the game like they do math homework can go the extra step and do it. While the aformentioned "drama queens" dont generally feel its worth the effort.
  4. They are one of the dumbest "features" of the game, but not because of what the OP says. Many MMOs are solo friendly and require no grouping at all. Sure, companions cut down on the players needed to group with (ive done a ton or heroics with a dps pet, plus solo'd a ton more heroic 2's and some 4's) but its hardly enough of a hit on grouping. Companions are just dumb because it makes all classes a pet class ... requiring players to have one tag along or die while soloing is not good game design. Even I, who mains a Hunter in every MMO, like to play different now and then. Not to mention how they are horrible group companions breaking CC (how has this not been fixed yet???), are stuck cleaning the ship unless theyre a tank or heal, and are no where near as interesting as the companions we've had in ME or DAO. Oh and lets not forget how Bioware can even program them correctly ....... not much of a good point since they cant seem to program anything right but w/e.
  5. Its my understanding that Bioware bought the engine incomplete saying its ok because they were going to heavily modify it anyway. Apparently they thought they had great programmers despite the fact theyve released some of the buggiest games Ive played in the past. Either way its all on Bioware. Not really blaming the Hero Engine itself, just the one they bought, which was obviously not ready for development.
  6. Someone did it back in the first few months. I think it was a Trooper or BH. Never picked an AC and even had an SS of it. Waste of time, IMO, as you can always pick an AC and spec the shared tree to keep your toon looking and playing the same as he did at lvl 10 (Vanguard Assault Specialist for example) .... but to each their own I suppose.
  7. IMO, this is all that craptastic engine of theirs. No developer worth their salt can screw up this bad, this frequently.
  8. lol, Bioware ..... /sigh. ....... some things will just never change. You just have the laugh at this now. I mean really, whats the point of raging about it anymore? Its been going on for a YEAR almost! Weve raged, weve cried, weve unsubbed to the point of forcing them into f2p, and driven EA to "lay off" a big chunk of the team who was originally screwing this up like this ... ..... yet STILL this happens. At this point raging about it is just pushing the gray hairs onto your head faster.
  9. I swear ... its like devs are going to have to start making mandatory videos of a player getting ganked non-stop with a big red flashing text that reads "THIS WILL HAPPEN TO YOU IN THIS SERVER!" Maybe then they will get it. I think gankers are sad excuses for human beings myself, but I also feel no pitty for those who consciously join one. Ill tell you the same thing I tell every girl thats been used, abused, and played by some guy .... "you had your pick of many different ones you couldve chosen, yet you picked that one. You deserve what you got." BTW, you can kill the usual mobs easy enough with PvP gear ... no idea why its even an issue with you.
  10. /sigh ... ok (A) 1 guy leaving shortly after WoWs release is no where near comparable to whats gone on with Bioware recently. Nor is 4 other dudes picking up and leaving over a year before WoW released. I never said devs arent let go or resign on their own now and then but the sudden unemployment of pretty much every known face in SWTOR including the founders themselves is obviously EAs doing. Specially when its developers who were incredibly enthusiastic about the game every step of they way. That happens when the suits call in the "Bobs" (yes, Office Space reference) who start wrecking years of hard work with their cash grabs, and laying people off to save the EA "Lumburg's" a penny. That is part of the reason why EA gets worse company ... for its shady practices and horrible treatment of its employees and customers alike. It was voted worst by a poll at The Consumerist, not a video game centric site where "butt hurt fanbois" of EA would generally visit. Not the first time it earns the title either. (B) Dont really need the PMs .... thanks. (o_O)
  11. Diablo is not an MMO. Last February isnt anywhere nears WoWs release date. Please name me which developers left WoW shortly after release, or at least their positions ... because I sure as hell dont remember anything to this scale happen to an MMO since the last company EA purged. For one, last I checked Morhaime was still CEO of Blizzard ... and has been since 91. Pretty much every single name we heard of and read about with Bioware and SWTOR is gone ... all within the last few months. There is a reason EA is rated among the worst companies in the US ... again.
  12. lol, was that an actual review or just a sad attempt at comedy by the writer? Seems every other sentence he desperately tried some clever insult to the game akin to a bad Family Guy joke "This [playing a Sniper] is worse than that time I watched the Naked Gun" Also, how does the same game, with some random additions and improvements (albeit, very few for a year old game) get downrated by half? Yeah, that makes sense. I rate this review a 2/5.
  13. Im fairly familiar with the games industry, I have a few friends in it and followed it myself for a few years while trying to get my foot in the door. While its true that most developers move around a lot, companies dont usually get gutted down to the founders just a few months after a big games release. These WERE the big execs in Bioware, the "top guys" as you said. Erickson, Ohlen, Zoeller were the main guys for TOR and have been with BW for years (at least Erickson and Ohlen). Also WoW is 8 years old. Diablo had a 10(?) year hiatus between 2 and 3. BIG difference there. This reeks of EAs poison. It something we are all familiar with every time EA "merges" with another company (more like infects). Plenty of people even called it, though some, like myself, were crossing our fingers hoping BW was strong enough to resist it.
  14. When executing a hostile take over, the best thing to do is get rid of the targets leaders. Then once you do that you replace them with spineless lackeys who will sellout and/or bend to your will without question. Yup ... sounds about right to me.
  15. Yup, its RNG. Ill tell you the same thing I told my uncle when he wasted $200 on lotto tickets (another RNG) "lol ... *******! /smh" Im sure EA enjoyed that much more than you did. "Thanks" for supporting thier f2p money grab.
  16. Meh, if they remove the middle man (ie. sell directly from CM for credits) then I may be sold on staying. Hoping that stuff shows up on GTN isnt my idea of good treatment of subbers IMO. Though I guess its still better than 100% CM exclusives so good on Bioware.
  17. Good! The faster this game goes down the crapper the faster the IP can get another shot at a good MMO adaptation. Hopefully the new movies will open up the possibilities for a galaxy with more than a handful of jedi. Crossing my fingers for Trion ...
  18. Oh? Do tell ... what is your definition of content? Because it seems to me that the entire game is, by definition, just one big heaping pile of content. Though im sure you have your very own definition of what "content" means ... Didnt they say Makeb would probaly be sold seperately as well? Or did they retract that in my time away?
  19. My problems isnt with its ease ... its how incredibly uncreative, annoying, and boooooring it was. The PvP one was annoying though I suppose PvPers loved it (still a bad design for PvE'rs). The FP ones were ok and even made sense ... The others ... **** how stupid! Seriously, its amazing to think on what passes for a game designer these days. Specially when you think of how many people are out there dreaming of such a job. I mean it didnt even make sense ... hundreds of HK-51s crashed on Belsavis yet the missing parts are scattered throughout the galaxy? Then theres the actual task of actually clicking the scanner 1000 times just to find it. Yeah, thats going to be fun when there arent entire raids looking for it a month down the line.
  20. I dont play much and managed to play 6 toons easily to max level. Thats not even counting the times I deleted and rerolled. I even quit for 3 months. In case you didnt notice, theres hardly been any new content since 1.2. Actually I do have a total of about 18-20 toons ive invested a good amount of time on and still play occasionally, I just got lucky they were put in separate servers. The least Bioware could do is be a little greatful to those who rolled alts instead of quitting from the sheer bordom of swtor's endgame. No of course not ... that would go against everything EA stands for.
  21. lol! They just keep getting better and better dont they? I dont even know what to say anymore other than its actually getting kind of fun to watch this train wreck happen day by day.
  22. Feel free to spacebar if you wish. Personally, id prefer to watch it for the 10000000th time over staring impatiently at a "waiting for group" text but hey ... to each thier own. To those tired of getting hassled for enjoying the game the way its meant ... enjoy your cutscenes. If some tool decides to rage then join in on the "OMERGERD SPACEBAAAAAR!" fun. Not only will you enjoy the story as its meant to be enjoyed, but its also hilarious watching them trying to figure out whats going on ... is someone lying? lag? *headscratch*
  23. Uh huh ...... Gee I wonder how many "Fleets" there wouldve been on release if there were only a handful of servers back then too Think about it. "Within 10 minutes" in the fleet already can only mean those are old accounts logging back in. Those same people that left already because they didnt like the game maybe coming back to "see whats changed." Do you really think the game has changed much? Its got a few more dungeons and dailies. Some bugs got fixed, some didnt, some more showed up. You really think theyll stay? Sure, some might some may even buy something here and there but this game will never be what it couldve been ... shouldve been ... or anything significantly more than any of the other "settled for F2P" games out there (which, BTW, is what people mean when they say "dead").
  24. Either the space missions in Shadows of the Empire or the free range missions in Rogue Squadron ... but with other players nearby.
  25. Same her OP. Well, I didnt actually read but I signed for a month to simultaneously get my CC, finish up the few stories I need to finish and just plain curiosity. Im not really expecting to be impressed, but it is their very very last chance. Im already greatly disappointed by how theyre treating subs and the (laughable) utter lack of any progress in the last 3 months ".... surprise surprise," lol. I really dont think the game has more than a year left. Not with EA in charge.
