  1. Thanks for the input, guys. I think I'll just un-sub and come back later if the desire strikes me. Farewell.
  2. Greetings to all, I must say that I am on the fence regarding my recurring monthly subscription to SWTOR. Mainly because I don't really play anymore. I have a 50 Jugg (Immortal spec'd) and a 37 Sniper (Engineer spec'd) that I want to max out but I can't find the motivation to play, the game has become boring... Perhaps I'm just 34 now and games just aren't going to hold my attention for hours on end anymore. But I still play other games (sometimes for extended periods). So, I have been trying to figure out what's boring about this game in particular. Two things I have realized contribute to my boredom. 1 - The majority of 'towns' or 'mission hubs' are just Imperial Outposts. Its not very exciting to travel to a new part of the map to only find another Imperial Medical Droid standing in front of that same little metal hut. And every outpost is guarded by the same turrets. And I'm not sure if its true for all 4 Imperial classes, but so far both characters have had to go to the exact same places. The sniper story even has solo story-instances in the same 'dungeons' as the Jugg, so I'm not really experiencing new content by playing a different character. 2 - The game is far too linear and one dimensional. I do not find like I get to make any decisions, I'm just following the path, planet to planet, that has been set out by the class story. And what do I get to do on each of these planets? Fight stuff, then fight stuff, then fight some more stuff. There's only one mission in the Black Hole area that has a puzzle-like aspect, The End of Torvix, and that only comes after quite a few fights. In conclusion, I think the game is fun, its just not as fun as it was when I thought it was new and different. Now that I've been playing for a few months, I'm beginning to slack off, and I'm wondering why I'm paying $15/month, when all the other games I enjoy are totally free (anyone else play World of Tanks or Minecraft?). So, am I just a whiner that needs to ****, or does anyone else feel this way?
  3. what is your current defense rating/shield rating/absorb rating?
  4. So, I think this is a no-brainer: Juggernauts are mostly tanks, meaning they want mobs to stay near them and attack them. And they get force push and force grip/choke, which is basically force away and force up. Why don't they get a force pull? I would almost trade it for force push. Push has gotten me in trouble in the past, pushing a mob into a group of adds, but I can't see a down-side to pulling a mob to me. Especially when there's a CC'd mob right next to the ones I'm tanking. Now I have to manually adjust which might not even be possible with a ranged mob, and then I can't use my 2 AOE abilities. But if I had force pull... It just doesn't make sense, Juggernauts can lift things with the force and push them away but can't bring things to them. I like the disarm ability someone else is proposing but even it implies a force pull. Juggernauts, as force-using tanks, have to have this ability; there's no way around it.
  5. If you can't handle it and can't hang with them while they continue to improve the game, then please just leave. No one appreciates your vulgarity, its highly inappropriate and very immature. It makes me think you are 13 years old or something, and in turn deserve little respect. So please simply leave, don't bring down the whole community that wants to see this game succeed. I am very tired of all the whining that I see on this forum. Go read a book, play outside or something. Some of us are capable of playing this game, albeit with bugs, and don't really mind because we are patient adults that understand great things take time. In conclusion, I am glad you are gone and I hope all the other immature whiners leave too!
  6. Something else I wanted to post, but that I only remembered after being back in-game, is how I like to string Sundering Assault with Crushing Blow. If one puts a couple points in the Vengeance skill tree, each Sundering Assault puts 2 stacks on, so with the Crushing Blow, all 5 stacks are on and the timer for the armor reduction is reset. It make the next couple moves hit a little harder. Hit them with Ravage, then pop Enrage, and go to VS and Retaliate right after and Sundering Assault will be cooled down so you can hit it again. I liked the post that used the word 'priority', that is a good way to look at it. Considering rage and cool-downs, Juggs play-style is very... opportunistic. But by playing properly and having intuitive combos one can make the cool-downs and rage work for her. I'm lvl 49 and I often have excessive amounts of rage to the point I will VS three times in a row, but this actually helps becuz the cooldown on Enrage is affected by VS. That's why I use these combos and want some other ideas... they work!
  7. Greetings all, I figure its about time that some Juggs start posting some of their go-to ability combos. I know the word 'rotation' is taboo now, but there are certain sequences I strive to use when I engage different types of enemies. I'll go first, naturally. Against weak mobs I usually Charge in, use the stun for a Kick on the same target, then Scream on same target. By this time the rest of the group has arrived so I drop a Smash to start a hold on them. Then I pop Enrage, and Sweeping Strike until I'm down to one. Those fights are always easy, companion almost gets in the way. Strong mobs get the same opener, except I use Saber Throw more often before I Charge. After the Smash, I go to Ravage and Crushing blow, then alternate Retaliate/Vicious Slash and Sundering Assault. I use my CCs (Force Choke, Push, Backhand) on off-target mobs around me. Elites get the same opener as Strongs, with relics (+120 power and +100 absorb) popped. All CCs are used on the elite, and push is always last in order to Saber Throw then Charge in again, because that starts the Scream to Smash combo. So, I'll stop here, this is only some of what I do (what I could come up with off the top of my head). Feel free to criticize, add onto, modify or share your own ability sequences and combos. I look forward to seeing them.
  8. I'm lvl 39 and fully spec'd in the Immortal tree. I use Quinn a lot too, just because his heals keep grinding going fast. But when I need to deal damage fast, I switch to Jaea or Vette. The only thing I can seem to use Pierce for really large groups, because he will draw some aggro while I clean up one-by-one. I think the best method is to gear all the companions and use different ones in different settings. I must admit however, Quinn does seem to be the go-to companion for SW... I too am interested to see what others are doing.
  9. In SWTOR, you must be grouped with another player in order to receive a portion of the experience from anything they kill. The strictly healing role is mainly reserved for 'flashpoints'.
