  1. I won't. They all do just fine in pvp. One of our healers who rarely pvps switched specs for Grav Round and outdpsed quite a few people after I gave him the spec and the rotation. If spamming tracer missle is hard, then getting a single heal off must be impossible. Every turret or ranged class sits either against a wall in Voidstar, or on the outskirts of every fight and blast away.
  2. So you put augments in already existing pvp and pve gear, or allow some way to do this and allow for people to crit craft oranges. Problem solved?
  3. I can make pants and chest on Sanctum of the Exalted if that helps.
  4. The only reason this would matter is if you seriously intended to have multiple fights last into the enrage timers of bosses.
  5. I don't get the problem though. You're saying "some people will use orange gear and not stick to the gear that everyone else gets" and I'm saying "yes, and that's okay. The desire to obtain PvP and Pve gear could easily be based around aesthetic choices that aren't available to crafters. Anything concerning the math of the issue doesn't matter since it is easily worked out later.
  6. Well I'm glad we're getting realistic suggestions grounded in the firm basis of the economics concerning an investment the size of TOR.
  7. When MMO communities give out specs and dps rotations to do the most damage one can do, and this doesn't drag down a team of 7 other people so far that they fail at every aspect of pvp and pve, yes the "noobs" are going to get gear. It's just something you are going to have to accept. Sometimes bad players are carried by good players.
  8. Oh my mistake, I was under the assumption the sky was not falling and that there were multiple ways to solve problems such as this. I should have realized this was such a grandiose problem that there was no solution
  9. Rare speeders are rare and rare things sometimes cost more money than commonly available items?
  10. I'm suddenly reminded of a rather amusing joke that Blizzard made at MMO player's expense during Blizzcon several years back. They created what they considered the optimal player's raid. It consisted of zero trash mobs. All the bosses were in a 5 meter radius and died with one hit each, and they all dropped one of every high level item you could ever want for specifically your class. And at the end was a 40 man Van Cleef pull because it was funny.
  11. There is a reason mods exist and cost fewer commendations than individual pieces of gear.
  12. I'm sorry to break it to you, but subscription MMOs are always an investment of time. The more time you put into the game, the more you get out of the game. This makes complete sense.
  13. I'm Valor Rank 45 and I'm still missing 2 pieces of Champion. Want to know the difference between myself and someone who doesn't have the divine favor of the "RNG Gods"?
  14. Take a look at this again and tell me what's wrong with your statement.
  15. Just means that over time people will tend towards having full Champion and Centurion (means more expertise) while having to try for longer periods of time for Battlemaster. In my experience it's not that 1 or 2 BM geared players in a 50's warzone ruin the experience for everyone, it's when a team of Champion geared players goes up against 8 BM geared players who happened to be from two hardcore pvp guilds and premade groups. Then again, that's a premade problem, not a problem with the gear in an of itself.
  16. I just wanted to add that Focus specced Sentinel are capable of doing adequate AOE damage as well.
  17. 1) Rewarding PvP Players with a distinctive look that cannot be copied by crafters 2) Rewarding PvE Players with a distinctive look that cannot be copied by crafters And future content could easily adapt to such a system. I look forward to being able to use oranges again so I don't look like every other pvp/pve geared Sentinel.
  18. Seems like they're both fine. I haven't tried out Watchment for more than 5 minutes because I had to respec back to Focus for AOE damage (which is what the Focus spec is all about, aoe damage from singularity charges + force sweep). Some games I top the damage charts/kill charts, some days I'm under two people, but I'm always at the top. Only time I find Focus less than stellar is Huttball where my attention is more focused on setting up passing lanes or finding ways to use the resolve bar and blowing a few defensive cooldowns for survivability and spamming Transcendence for speed and solo scoring the ball.

  20. I'm at 400 Synthweaving and I'm pretty comfortable with the looks of all the gear. I've even got Orange gear for my lvl 11 from now until level 50. Then again, I don't confuse subjective aesthetic opinions with universal truth. I've actually had decent success on the GTN with selling a certain orange chest. Female players apparently like it a lot, even had one start a conversation with me because they bought it and liked it so much (also they thought I was someone else, but I didn't mind the compliment for crafting).
  21. Not to sound like a jerk, but please calm down before you post. Kneejerk reactions based off false opinions can do a lot of damage if they get repeated by others. Slicing is fine. It went from "Champagne and Caviar"-tier to "Shlepping around with the average joes"-tier. While I can only speak for my experiences as told to me by other people, on a different forum it was pointed out that Slicers just had to continue doing Investment-Reward spreadsheets to find out which missions were the best (and posted 5 each). The difference between then and now is you have to be smart with your money (not that making money should be an issue for anyone in this game).
  22. I'm just going to point out that the period in any MMO where the community creates standardized Specs and damage rotations pretty much makes every class easy to play.
  23. Yes, believe it or not, Tier 1.1 PvP gear has less stats than Tier 1.3 PvE gear. I don't know why this would surprise anyone (Rakata = Battlemaster, if you didn't figure that out already). But that makes it (short of getting BM/Champ) the next best item if you aren't a Synthweaver or Armormech.
  24. I have, it's an upgrade over most of the stuff I have seen drop at the moment, and it's expertise. If you've been pvping in Warzones and Ilum, you should be getting 2 pieces of Centurion a week minimum. Way faster than your average pve player has been getting their 1.1-1.3 tier gear.
  25. What are you people doing with your Centurion Commendations? I am extremely confused how so many of you have opened 967 Champ bags and have obtained no loot.
