  1. Has an Ops group found a reliable strategy workaround for the cross failing? Today I was chatting with one of my healers and thinking about what we saw last night, and wondered maybe if all 8 of us simply stack on the tank, we could heal through the failed cross, and simply ignore the mechanic altogether. Is that strategy known to work? Or will it do more damage if essentially all of us are not in position?
  2. In my raid group we encountered Coratanni bugging once, and then it worked the second time. But Underlurker, in 4 pulls, we only had the boss register a successful cross once. We can heal through it sometimes, but not every single one. It just seemed to be completely bugged. The boss also wasn't consistently doing his normal "walk back" to the tank after his leap. Sometimes he was just dropping cross in the middle of the room. (before getting to the tank). Other times he was rubber banding back to the main tank, nearly instantly. This needs serious fixing...and I want my credits for repairs due to this bug! (submitted request to CS).
  3. It's pretty obvious to me, that whomever it is that works at BioWare that is responsible for banning the gold spammers and botters....they do not work over the weekend. The botters and gold spammers know this just as much as the legit players, and so every Saturday and Sunday we see the same ones all day long. Then "magically" Monday they go away. Maybe, just maybe, BioWare could employ some low paid, part time, eager intern to ban the botters on the weekends?
  4. My vote for best update EVER from BioWare. Thanks Eric. Keep doing these types of updates, and you will surely change a lot of perceptions about BioWare.
  5. Just an acknowledgement here is indeed GREAT news. +10 Karma points to the Dev that's working on (fixed this.
  6. If a mod cares about one player's opinion, I think it's time to close this thread. Heck, I might even delete some of the nastier posts...but I'd surely lock this one at this point.
  7. I guess I need to work on my sarcasm a bit...I thought I was dripping with it. I'd like to take credit for the subsequent BIG post by Eric around "that which shall not be discussed", but alas, I think we just got lucky. In all seriousness, its post like Eric's most recent, that I sincerely hope we get more of. There are simply times when you cannot communicate too much with the players, and this is certainly one of those times.
  8. As we start the New year, I wanted to thank BioWare for the increase in communication over 2014. It's been refreshing to see them communicating with the player base, and really letting us know just how important we are to them, and how hard they are working to address any problems that may exist in the game just as quickly as possible. Keep it up!
  9. This suggests that the source of the FPS issues stem from the change to buffs/debuffs/dot tracking in the UI, as that was the significant change made for 3.0.
  10. I love seeing the number of respondents that have literally leveled 1 toon to 60, and think, because they had no problem with xp, the problem must be the OP. Leveling 1 toon does not make you an expert. I'll repeat it for all of you neophytes: If you already did the Forged Alliances story arc, the expansion leaves you 1.5-2 levels short on content. And yes, RotHC had the same problem. This is a problem. It's not a a feature. It's a sad state of affairs that BioWare creates an expansion that doesn't get the player from 55-60, without going back to old content, using xp boosts, being in a +10% guild, taking 6 extra days to do Yavin dailies repeatedly, grinding on champion mobs, doing old operations content, and/or pvping for 20 hours.
  11. Yes, on launch day I did every single quest. I am also in a +10% guild. On my first toon, during all of the back and forth I generally avoided killing mobs that were NOT specifically part of the quest, because that's typically not the best way to gain leveling xp in this game (finishing quests is). As of now, I have 9 level 60 characters. 2 of which did not get to 60 prior to finishing Yavin. My first one, and a subsequent one that both had completely finished the forged alliances quest line. Knowing about the xp issues, on the second one, I used xp boosts, and generally killed any gold mob I encountered (and the champions on Rishi), literally every time I crossed their path. I consider all of that extraneous mob killing to be "grinding" but it's necessary nonetheless. The Champions on Rishi, are particularly good xp, for the effort, but not everyone (or every class/companion) combo can kill them efficiently (say, without using heroic moment). I'll state my viewpoint differently: If you add up the xp you get for completing the quests, along with the kill xp those quests require, it is not enough to get from 55-60. If you don't have rest xp and +10% guild xp, the gap is even worse. It's really that simple.
  12. Also, fix all of the broken Itemizations that are noted here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=783782
  13. For those that think it's IMPOSSIBLE to finish SoR and not be level 60, you obviously didn't complete the forged alliances quest line before you the expansion. If your toon had already done the 4 tactical quests that made up the forged alliances quest line, it is VERY easy to finish SoR at 58.5. My first toon, a Guardian (NO STEALTH), had to go back to Oricon and Makeb to get to 60, as she was also only 58.5 when she finished SoR (albeit, Revan was broken back then...but that one extra fight wouldn't have accounted for enough xp).
  14. First, there's no way that I believe raiding in _all_ MMOs will be a thing of the past. However, I don't think Rift or WildStar are good examples of how to do MMO raiding. Rift, in particular, as a free to play game, has gone ultra grindy. Which is necessary in a F2P MMO, so you can't really blame Trion for the way they are doing it, but it means they are essentially killing their game slowly for end gamers. In the case of WildStar it's super difficult to fill a raid spot with a substitute as a result of the attunement system. WildStar at launch is a lot like WoW was during the Burning Crusade. WoW had a ton of Rep Grinds and such during Burning Crusade that made it so if you lost a raid member, recruiting a new player set the whole raid group back to wherever the new player was in the grind. And with large raid groups, that's a whole bunch of people gated by 1 person. Which then ends up going in a vicious cycle. Notice Blizzard learned the lesson here, and hasn't done that kind of thing again. It's a shame NCSoft seems to have failed in this regard. When WildStar was announced, I was a big fan of what they were trying to do. I don't think any other studio has ever done as good a job of communicating with their player base about their game. And I bought into the hype for sure. But then I played it. The action combat MMO thing is very fun to play. But it's also fatiguing. It's sort of like you are PVPing all the time, as you have to always be moving. As a person probably twice the age of the average gamer, while I liked it, I had a hard time putting in the time to be "hardcore", the way I can with a tab target MMO. Successful modern MMOs, like SWTOR and WoW have realized you simply cannot gate your raiding content behind a long grind. The practicality of LIFE means it's not a viable means to gaming success. But I also think that a successful MMO MUST have a vibrant end game (aka raids/operations). If the guild I'm in is any indication, I think the vast majority of the "whales" in SWTOR are end game raiders. Although I don't count myself among these folks, the type of person I'm talking about is affluent, hardcore, and views an additional $100/month in cartel coins to be a trivial thing to enhance their gaming enjoyment. These players want the nicest looking armor/mounts/decorations/etc. They want best in slot items. All the time. And they are willing to pay with real money to get it. For them, while they are perfectly capable of farming credits to buy an item off the GTN, they'd much sooner whip out their credit card, buy a hyper crate of packs, and be swimming in credits 2 days later. If there wasn't a raiding system in SWTOR, NONE of these people would exist in the game at all. And these are by far the best customers BioWare has, in terms of profitability for BioWare. So if tomorrow, BioWare stopped offering operations in SWTOR. That same day, all of these players would simply disappear. At the end of RotHC expansion, we certainly saw the exodus that resulted from a lack of raiding content.
  15. At 55 you can buy Basic Gear on Rishi with basic comms. You can also buy armorings, hilts, mods, and enhancements, of a higher level than the basic gear, from a different vendor on Rishi (172). The 172 stuff is more than good enough to get you to level 60. As you do the Rishi quest line, you will get a full set of 162 and then later a full set of 168 gear, so at least one companion character should be reasonably well geared as you go.
  16. Can you elaborate? Is this an issue with Armstech and Artifice? Or is it a mission reward problem on Rishi?
  17. It's sadly disappointing that this will never happen, and even if by some miracle, it did happen, the best customers in the game (early access subscribers) would never experience it.
  18. Added the Cybertech earpiece. When I get the details on the offhands, I'll add them as well.
  19. If BW confirms these are indeed bugs...they can move this to that forum. Until then, it's speculation, and I'm leaving it here.
  20. I did a search and found very few posts about the numerous (handful?) broken itemizations so I thought I would attempt to list all of the ones that I know about in one post. If others are found, please reply and I will attempt to keep the top post updated with each one that we, as players, believe are broken. Hopefully this will get BioWare's attention. Crew Skill Biochem: Anodyne Resistance Implant MK-1 +177 Endurance +172 Willpower +84 Defense +79 Surge Problem: Surge on a tanking implant? Believe it should be Shield instead of Surge, to be the same as the Strength and Aim tanking implants (Reaction MK-1 and Response MK-1) Crew Skill Cybertech: Frasium Supercharged Resistance Module MK-1 +177 Endurance +172 Willpower +84 Defense +79 Surge Problem: Same problem as the implants of the same type. (Devs really don't like willpower users this patch). Elite Comms Vendor for Sage and Sorc: Massassi Force-Healer's MK-1 Motivator +194 Endurance +124 Willpower +48 Crit +111 Alacrity Problem: Very low Endurance, Willpower, and Crit. Other similar implants have +276 Endurance, +241 Main Stat, and +96 Crit (almost double across the board). Legacy Companion Weapon Reward Devoted Allies Assault Vibroblade +33 Strength +98 Endurance +41 Power +33 Absorption +43 Alacrity Problem: All stats are very low in comparison to other rating 192 legacy weapons. Believe the stats should be in the 100-200 range, per stat. FYI, a BW customer service person told a player via a bug ticket that the stats were correct...ugh! Legacy Companion Off Hand Reward Devoted Allies Assault Focus +124 Willpower +170 Endurance +111 Accuracy +74 Critical Rating Problem: Willpower, Endurance, and Crit are all low. As well, most similar offhands have some power. ++Update: Added Cybertech Earpiece to this list. +++Update: Added Focus legacy offhand to this list.
  21. This gross and obvious error wasn't addressed in 3.0.1. BW, please allocate 1 minute for a slightly more intelligent person to look at this.
  22. +1 I hope this gets fixed, unlike 2.0, where numerous erroneous recipe's never got fixed.
  23. If it wasn't clear, I'm actually asking BioWare what it is they recommend that we, as players, should do. Should I expect some kind of "magic" and get my items? Or should I bug it? Should I report it via mission/quest? I really don't know what it is, if anything, they expect us to do.
