  1. I know he deleted my post as spam. I just got the mail notice. I wonder if it was Protocol Droid A9-T5 again. He got me a couple of times in the Beta forums too.
  2. What do you do with the guilds that were assigned to the server as part of the guild program? Many of these guilds have a lineage of 10 or more years with players who have used the same character names for just as long.
  3. There was this whole guild program where guilds coordinated their recruitment, longtime friends and guildies reestablished their long held guild name, and players sought out like minded guilds and players. In order to ensure they would be deployed with their friends and acquaintances under a unified named, people preordered a game as part of a verbal agreement to ensure their guild would be successfully deployed. One day a joyous email was sent informing players and guilds of their randomly assigned server. While waiting for staggered invites for each individual, guilds slowly began to form on their new homes. The excitement of something new soon gave way to bitter disappointment of hour long queues. Some of these players were savvy veterans of MMOs and dutifully repeated the mantra, "This is to be expected". But soon, even the veterans started questioning if hour or longer queues were acceptable. Sure, other MMOs had queues, but were they hours long? The veterans began to recall server population limits were raised and what few queues remained we no longer than 10 to 15 minutes. Now trapped on an assigned server with a guild name of 10 years of MMO lineage and players with long cherished names, the veterans and their guilds face a choice; risk it all to go to one of the few lucky servers with no queues, hoping their guild name and player names are not taken, or endure hours upon hours of waiting in a queue to preserve all they hoped to be in this new MMO? Increase the server population they cried. Bring relief to the masses.
  4. That's OK, I don't care if I get forum banned. I'll keep posting this big *** message every hour, in every forum until someone of authority does the right thing here and communicates CLEARLY about the single biggest problem facing the community or until they shut me down. And if they do shut me down, let it be a strong message to everyone that plays this game.
  5. Someone of authority needs to address the community about the server queues and provide a rationale for WHY the combination of guild deployment, staggered player invites, and the data collected during stress test did not mitigate against hour long queues. Someone of authority needs to address the community on what's going to be done to alleviate these outrageous queues, i.e. will the server population limits be raised; will players/guilds be able to move to lower populated servers; will new players not be allowed to join the full servers, etc.? Someone of authority needs to address the community. GET IT?!
  6. Don't forget a little pre-order reality here. Day one was 7/21, and if you recall the game sold out. While I don't know exactly how many units that equals, I'll go out on a limb and say if you didn't redeem on 7/21 you have a low probability of getting in today. I redeemed on 7/23 and I accept that low probability of day one early access. For those posting they pre ordered after July, you can safely assume you won't get in today, so step away from your computer and enjoy the day. If you pre-ordered in Oct/Nov, you can probably stay away from your computer for two to three days. And for those stating their wife, their friend, etc. pre-ordered at some obsurdly late date, i.e. just moments ago, and claim that person is in already, I'm just going to go ahead and calll you the liar troll you are. I know the internet is nothing but truthful, honest people who would never spout out some half-baked ideas, but you people are full of doo doo.
  7. Yeah, you are bothing missing something HUGE. I preordered from Amazon as well. Within minutes I received an email from Amazon with the preorder code, which I redeemed right away. You need to look in your email, spam bin, trash bin, etc. I'll stake my life on Amazon doing it right.
  8. Where did you get those numbers? Also, how do you know they aren't doing precisely what they described? Do you know when they started sending invites? What if they are inviting 300K every 4 hrs? In a 24 hr period that's 1.8 million. But I have no basis for my numbers either.
  9. I think you made your thought process very clear. It's dumb, which makes them cheap, which means this game will fail. Got it!
  10. A couple of things. This is the internet, so I look upon those posting about their order date with suspicion. I ordered on 7/23 and I'm not in either, BUT I'm not forgetting that most places sold out on day one, 7/21; therefore, even though you and I order with a day or two of day 1, chances are we aren't getting in today. You may want to come to grips with that. Furthermore, if you've paid attention during beta you will notice that BW is very West Coast in their approach, meaning it's only 7 am there, and as the day goes on those 7/21 folks will be in at some point today.
  11. Hey, I've been through that with GameStop and Best Buy, which is why I made the consumer choice to never deal with them for preorders. I went through Amazon because the last few preorders I've done with them have been flawless. If you recall Amazon sold out all of their CEs on July 21st and I ended up *** out, but they got a new batch on July 23rd which is when I got mine. Within minutes I received my preorder code from Amazone via email and I redeemed the code that day. IMO, Amazon is the way to go for this kind of thing. BTW, even though I did all my pre-ordering on July 23rd, I doubt I'll get in today. I accept that for what it is.
  12. There's nothing to forgive. Just accept the fact you didn't preorder in time to get into the early access or will only have a day or two.
  13. Closed? Because you don't like it? There's no lack of communication. Even your own reply says "may", which tells me you were communicated with. Your problem is the assinine assumptions you've made. You obviously didn't pre-order on July 21st, so you won't be getting the full early access time. If you thought otherwise you lied to yourself. Most likely you pre-ordered in Oct/Nov, which means you might get a couple of days in early access. As you read, 2 to 3 days falls within the "may get up to 7 days", so you are getting precisely what was communication. Once again you've set yourself up for failure if you asssumed your late pre-order would result in more than a couple of days. As for the obvious exhageration of pressing refresh every 5 seconds, it just proves how foolish you are. If you are hawking over your email expecting to get in today with your late pre-order then you sir are a moron. Get out of your house. It's not happening for you today. Also, you haven't begun to make a recurring payment, just your initial software purchase. You have the freedom to walk any time.
  14. So?! Sorry your life/work got in the way of a pre-order redemption. Still has nothing to do with the fact that this was all known ahead of time. It's not BW's fault you weren't located somewhere with the appropriate access.
  15. Don't for get to add the crucial assumption that evreyone on the internet tells the truth.
  16. LOL, you know a lot of impulsive, illinformed idiots then. Considering you are deriving your opinion based on the impusive, illinformed actions of your idiot friends I can only conclude you are an idiot as well.
  17. Already so much whining and sniveling. Unless you've chosen to be out of the loop, everyone knew BW was going to do staggered invites based on pre-order redemption dates leading up to a 20 December general release. Now the day has come and people can't seem to handle it even though this was communicated for months. My challenge to you is to think back to July 21st and remember what you were thinking that made you decide to delay pre-ordering. How many of you took the, let's wait and see approach? How many of you sniveled about the cost of the game or what goodies came with the CE? How many of you bought into the whining of "WoW in space" and held off? You have a large group of players that committed to SWTOR early despite the disproportionately loud cries from a small group of naysayers and trolls who have done nothing but dump on this game from the outset. If you allowed yourself to be influenced by that small group of cynics and chose to delay your purchase then you only have yourself to blame.
