Server queues (a story) and comparative current MMO experiences

Since this is everyone's first MMO launch - I'll explain it

Bioware should use a psychological strategy and designate the "light" servers as "full." That way people will be more apt to randomly select a server. -
Seething WoW Hatred - This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things

I agree that WoW is the bohemeth, but their subscriber base has been dwindling. I used to play WoW. You cannot say that WoW is not on the downslide. Look at their latest expansion. -

It's a very fine line. I too, would like UI customization, but maybe Bioware is trying to change the trend and I can deal with that. -

Unless you're using some kind of underworld currency, I would imagine my purchase and subscription is equal which gives me right to equal say. Unless of course you didn't purchase or subscribe then your opinion doesn't really matter. If you did buy the game and subscribe then you are getting some enjoyment from the game too which makes your arguement irrelevant. If your parents paid for it. Then you need to get a job. -

There is a silent majority that diligently pays their monthly subscription for what they enjoy. WoW is a non-factor since TOR has brought novel concepts to the mmo world. Parents that pay their child's subscriptions are minor compared to the adult gamer and the monetary loyalty they will show to a game they enjoy. TOR has managed to bring gamers from every genre to at least check it out. Love it or hate the choice is yours. I trust the developers to take me on a journey that has yet to be explored. As an experienced gamer, that's what I hope most for. I'm actually excited to see what Bioware's developers come up with as we travel through the story of The Old Republic. -
Why didn't you pre-order earlier? (Not a QQ)
Senessa replied to Blood_Burger's topic in General Discussion
Looks like a bunch of honest answers. I like this thread.....people being accountable and not complaining. -
The pre-order was available in July. Did you pre-order then? I can't tell you what to do, but I know as a guild leader I need to be informed on all AAA games. Sounds to me like you need to do a little more research to be prepared.
-
Not sure if that's true. From what I understand, the 5 waves they did today were the first day of pre-orders until about 2p since there was a mass pre-order influx the first day. According to what the official post says, there was a dramatic decrease after that so the date ranges for the EGA should cover a much broader range from that point forward. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.

I think "Cylak" is actually a Bioware infiltrate that was planted to prompt others to evaluate their logic process. Either they submit into droid clones or they become freethinkers. The system is fair. It was posted everywhere clearly and people who feel bad about the line should rethink their strategic planning since the info has been out there since July.

The reality here is that in past launches, there were ungodly waits in the queue. On top of that, the servers may go down, sometimes for over a day during launch. Then you lose your place in line. Nothing like being 10 min away then the servers go down. This way. No one loses their place. I think it's Bioware's hope that the TOR servers won't go down while we're getting the free days before the official launch. It's a much better system imo.
