  1. I'm pretty sure what she says is that she needs the jedi council's permission to marry, which she believes can only happen when a lasting peace is formed between the empire and the republic and the Jedi Councel 'bless' your marriage. So, my impression is you can marry her when pigs fly, because that's never going to happen.
  2. I played a Jedi Shadow and a Sorcerer to 50 and my opinion is that the DPS on an Assassin is harder to figure out. On top of that they have no heal and only one "oh crap" button, so they're tougher to level. Combine that with you get your healer so late as an Assassin I'd have to recommend playing a sorcerer, unless you want a bit more of a challenge. Both are perfectly playable, though.
  3. jaissa DS is insane because the SW literally drives her insane by destroying everything in her life that grounds her and then introduces her to the unrestrained passion of the dark side. So, there's a very good reason she's insane - the SW made her that way. It's really one of the creepiest stories in the game. LS Jaissa makes sense, as well. She leaves with you and serves you loyally for very well enunciated and logical reasons. Her companion quests perfectly match that story.
  4. On my sorcerer healer one of my favorite things to do was to pull aggro on a standard mob with force lightening, let them get close, shock them, do the flip kick attack thing and then finish them off with double strike from my saber. Just a really satisfying sequence of attacks, topped off with the saber. It's possible a lot of Sage's have just forgotten how really awesome and satisfying it is to whack things with a light saber. I noticed while I was leveling that something just felt, odd, about a Sage but until this thread I had never realized what it was - I missed using my saber. Double odd considering you spend the first 10 levels actually using your light saber all the time. I don't think BW will ever change the class, and I'm not sure what could realistically be done, but I have to agree with your analysis.
  5. I was looking at Master Syo the other day and I noticed a huge gap between his robe and the side of his body (he looks like body type 2). I almost wonder if they 'shaped' the cloak for the largest female body size booty (females have wider hips) and then just scaled it down, but male characters have narrower hips so it makes them look like J-Lo. In that case, the solution would be to create a separate robe style for males and females, with properly scaling hip measurements. Just a guess, though.
  6. There are 2 paths to her story that is decided the first time you talk to your contact on Taris. Which way you meet her depends on which choice you take. If you choose to corrupt her, you show her the holycron. If you choose to 'befriend' her you 'save' her from the assassins.
  7. I got Xalek so late in my story i never even bothered with him. It's weird how late he shows up in the story and then plays like zero part in it. On top of that he's nearly a mime. I think the SI companions are a very odd bunch considering how our story ends up. We get: - an alien assassin - a former republic naval officer turned pirate turned psycho - an alien Jedi - a reclamation service officer quitter - a former slave alien apprentice Not exactly the most respect-inducing group, I kind of felt like the coach of the Mighty Ducks. If it wasn't for Khem, I'd say someone at BW doesn't much like us.
  8. I thought it was kind of cool they had some variation in a fight - everything else was so "end boss elite" fight that got kind of dull. I wish they'd done more of that, to be honest - maybe even some fights where you weren't supposed to fight but get around an obstacle by another route, like a puzzle perhaps.
  9. I took her with me to the Dark Council - no reaction at all. Not from her and not from them. You'd think having a Jedi with me would have sparked some reaction from someone, somewhere at some point. Nope. She didn't seem to care one way or the other, either. The only time she commented on a location was the Temple of Healing on Voss, where she told me to be respectful. yeah, thanks, like I take orders from a padawan. Honestly, I wish they'd just get rid of her in a patch (have her story end on Taris either with you killing her or letting her go), move Xalek up to post-Taris where it makes more sense anyway and introduce a new companion on Voss, maybe a failed Mystic or that pure blood researcher. Or just let us keep the female apprentices we inherited from Zash and leave Xalek where he is. I think she's a decent enough person, but her traveling with us makes no sense and I can't think of an easy way to fix her story. Plus they save the effort of trying to get a slave girl outfit to show up properly on her.
  10. Just finished a quest with Qyzon where it turns out Trandoshians hunt Wookies and then SKIN THEM. Sorry, but the lizard has to go. I'm hoping to get some upgraded blasters and armor for the ship for him, but I'm willing to consider all reasonable offers. Submit a bid and we'll contact Customer Service to arrange the transfer*. * No returns. All merchandise is sold 'as-is'. Not responsible for Wookie revenge related incidents. All grisly trophies must be removed from ship within 24 hours.
  11. I really didn't care for the prologue or chapter 1 at all, mostly because there was really no reason for me to care about any of the people in the story at that point. I think that was the weakest element of the story, trying to build up some kind of emotional attachment to a bunch of people who you didn't even know existed. Even the villain was so emotionally distant the entire time you didn't really care about them one way or the other. Chapter 2 was way better and way more JC and was enjoyable. But chapter 3 starting at Belsavis and ending after the first zone in Corellia was the best part of the story for me. If i had to pick a single quest, I'd have to say the quest after Belsavis where
  12. Shadow I think is tougher to play than Sage - you only have the one defensive cooldown and no healing. You really have to use your CC ability often to control fights otherwise you can get rolled pretty fast, considering you wear tissue paper for armor. Shadow is kind of a late blooming class as well - you have to wait quite a long time for your signature attacks. Up to personal preference, though - they're both pretty fun to play. Just keep in mind that, because of the way talent trees work in SWTOR you won't really 'feel' like your AC until 23-26 when you have enough points in a single tree, so don't get disappointed at level 18 because the class sucks. Every AC has that problem.
  13. Saying it makes sense isn't the same as asking for a change. Giving a person a light saber and then telling them they shouldn't hit anything with it is like giving a young boy a drum and telling him not to hit it. You would think the temptation, even for Sages, would be overwhelming. how can you not whack a bad guy with that thing?
  14. Create a legacy unlock to play the game at a higher difficulty. Create 4 difficulty levels: regular, hard, nightmare and perma-death. The idea is to make repeated play through more enjoyable and challenging. Choice is made at character creation to play anything above regular. If you play hard: - class and world quests instances are locked to single player only - instance mobs are increased in difficulty and quantity. Balance around very good gear and player ability - if a player out-levels a quest by 2 levels, they are locked out of that quest instance - if a player is ever locked out of their class quest, hard mode is ended and reverts back to regular. - player name plate displays gold to indicate they are playing on hard mode if you play nightmare: - same restrictions as hard, but enemies are balanced around consumable use, top line gear and player ability - player name shows up as gold with sparkles to indicate nightmare mode if you play perma-death: - same restrictions as hard mode - player PvP flag is off and can only be toggled on in 'safe' PvP areas - player is allowed 5 deaths (or fewer). The final death is permanent - players name is in gold, with a small skull on each side
  15. I have to say, now that I think about it, this makes a lot more sense than what's in the game. Really, all jedi should be melee based - let troopers and smuggles skulk at range - makes more sense for them as well.
  16. Role a female - romancing Nadia is just plain wrong. Just think about your character as being your character and not you and do what they would do. Guy playing a female and I enjoy it just as much. I like playing body style 1 so I can have my waif-u chick beating the snot out of huge enemies. Female voice is better than the male, but I didn't particularly care for either of them. I really kind of wish they had at least used -some- kind of accent on the republic side characters - all of them just feel so ordinary to US players since they all sound like news broadcasters. The JC outfits aren't the most flattering on the female figure, either. I never found an outfit for my JC that showed off any cleavage, belly or curves - it was all ugly brown robes. You could wear the dancers outfit, but that's just awkward on a JC.
  17. I redeemed him this weekend with Tharan, no rocks. I put a video of the cut scene after I defeated him at: I saw the room with his statue. I didn't save the female daughter, and took all the lightest of light options. Was Light V at the end.
  18. I beat it as full infiltration with Zenith, probably the funnest quest in the game. Used plenty of med packs, though. Just had to make sure I kept one crowd controlled, and use blackout if things got too tight.
  19. I had this problem with Vette - that damn collar would reappear randomly all the time. I put in a bug report on it. I read somewhere it happens more often with the 'default' Vette - perhaps putting an alternate companion modification on her will get rid of it.
  20. You can romance Ashara dark side. Your first [flirt] won't show up until 2k or so affection. Ahsara does not give out much affection for gifts until you court her. She also does not give out much affection for conversations until Belsavis. After you start courting her, she gives very nice affection for courting gifts, which is the fastest way to raise her affection.
  21. I thought the prologue and Act 1 were not so good. Act 2 and 3, though, were among the best in the game. I've played SI/JK/SW to 50 and I think JC is as good as the JK story. The SI/SW stories just didn't have any meaning to them beyond the player, while the events of the JK/JC had true galactic importance that made their Sith counterparts just look like selfish brats, which I suppose was intentional. The JC story in Act 2/3 also had 2 of the most poignant scenes I've seen in SWTOR this far: on Belsavis: After Belsavis: I just don't remember any moments like that in the other stories. So, I guess the JC story is more lilke "The Pianist" and a lot less like "Transformers".
  22. Here's a video clip of my SI choosing this option (it's just that piece, so it's only 10 seconds). Fits in well with the LS motif.
  23. It's a problem with every companion, as far as I know - it's just more noticeable with saber wielders. Vette runs around with her blasters out all the time, for instance. It's just harder to tell.
  24. as a healer I never used it, as my companion is the only thing between me and a quick trip to the med droid. Unity, the JC version, is 100000% better, but it's moving to legacy as well.
  25. Currently Ashara is the only LS companion - I'd prefer she stays LS unless the option is there to keep her LS. Plus, please stop her from saying she doesn't have a choice if you took the conversation option where you totally 100% gave her a choice.
