  1. As others have said, allow players to select how many levels down from the current level sync they want to be on any given planet.

Planet syncs you to 34? Allow players to select up to (some arbitrary number) 8 levels down from 34, and the game will reduce your stats to that level. Players would also get more experience from quests and mobs if they complete them at nerfed levels.

I would love the opportunity to play the class stories and have the end bosses give me a significant challenge, like the vibe from 1.0.

  2.

The first note is we are changing the new Madness Sorc tactical from the design in the OP to:

"Demolish hits all nearby targets affected by your Deathmark."

This is the old Slow Mercy tactical. Except the Slow Mercy tactical also had Death Field spreading Force Slow and 15% extra damage from Force Storm on Deathmark targets.

  3. It seems that companion accuracy is unnaturally low for some reason. Tank companions will leap in, do the aoe, and miss on three targets at once. Consistently. Dps companions miss quite a bit too. Miss should be around 5% for same level pve content like heroics, and companions are missing much more than that.
  4. Males toons already have the option for "makeup" with certain complexion choices. Lots of eye shadow going around.

Also, this a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. There are aliens with literal upside down heads, and people are worried about female toons with non-traditional appearances. :i_confused:

  5. Thoughts from a decent leth op and b tier conc op:

This thread is all over the place. First of all, the OP appears to be talking about lethality, since concealment is not capable of putting out high DPS simultaneously with high HPS. I don't think anyone has any problems with lethality until they see the scoreboard at the end of the game. I don't think most people realize that in order to do any kind of HPS as an operative you have to reapply kolto probes with every spare GCD.

    So let's break it down:

    1) Concealment isn't doing crazy HPS and also putting out a lot of damage. A good conc op might be doing 2k HPS while also getting opportunistic burst kills on targets that were already low. The main problem with conc ops is the roll immunity not being tied to alacrity, so the roll animation ends before the immunity does by 0.1 or 0.2 seconds. People get pissy about conc ops because of the pucker factor when a conc op jumps you when you're at 30-40% health. Even if you manage to survive that burst, they will roll away and you won't be able to do anything to them for 3 seconds. Op self heals are not the problem so there is no point in nerfing them.

    2) lethality can do crazy DPS, crazy HPS, and do both at the same time. Lethality is not bursting anyone done by themselves. Lethality might be the best class in the game for long, drawn out fights, especially 1v2 and 1v3. In ranked, leth is a hindrance due to lack of burst and inability for other classes to mezz due to dots. Nerfing op self heals without a massive burst increase will make this class worthless. If a leth op is doing less than 3k HPS, you didn't focus them enough. If a leth op is doing 5k-6k HPS, you focused them enough that they couldn't do max damage but you didn't burst them down enough.

I don't think I've ever had someone complain about leth as a spec. The HPS numbers are high because almost all of the DCDs for leth provide healing. Kolto probes = healing. Shield probe = healing. Revitalizers = healing. Kolto infusion = healing.

I came here to say this. Everything about this post is correct. Leth's DCD's are mostly self-healing and not much mitigation compared to other classes. Conceal's asset is roll immunity, and its cooldown has already been nerfed this expansion fairly significantly.

  6. I have a tendancy to impulsively purchase $100 worth of cartel coins every week or so. Am i just one of a handful of people that do this? I guess my question is, how much do you regularly spend on Cartel coins and what is it you like to purchase with them?:D

Thank you for single-handedly keeping this game afloat.

  7. They all seem to work fine... what's the best in your opinion?

All three comp roles are good given level sync and the relative power of companions.

Tanks make surprisingly good comps for ops, though. Leveling, tank comps let you get backstabs.

At 75, send your tank comp in at an enemy in a group but at the far end of the group. Then target and click the harpoon ability on the enemy farthest from the first. Your comp will pull three enemies in and then aoe explode right after on all four. This is a perfect set up for your aoe tactical (Viral Elements/Explosive Cells). Aoe mow them all down, then dismiss and resummon your compaion at full health and with full cooldowns. It's a little micromanage-y, but I find it faster on heroics with forced combat than using a dps comp. Especially with groups of all ranged mobs. Groups of golds just melt in the aoe without you having to single target dps them down.

  8. Excuse me? Where in the OP do you see any indication of this notion only entertaining regular warzones?

    This part?

What defines a "normal" warzone? Ranked is just as normal as 8v8 as far as I'm considered. Abnormal I would consider be the off chance you meet a team of 8 Assassins that all communicate their crowd control on voicecomms.

(I have done this, sorry not sorry  )

I have a wonderful suggestion for you though. Imagne putting a little more emphasis on objectives instead of going for scoreboard numbers, you won't be fighting in the masses. Even if everyone would, players would spend more time spread across the map in general.

Bro, just stop. No one calls Ranked "normal WZ." People say "normal" to differentiate from Ranked ARENAS. Like, cmon. :mon_rolleyes:

That last bit is even more hilarious that you assume from this conversation I'm a number farmer. I couldn't care less what my dps is. I'm THAT guy doing objs, sap capping off-nodes, planting doors, off healing my teammates. Everyone who plays with me knows this. You don't have to be number farming in mid to get chain CCed by non-voice-comms people cycling through the map and responding to calls.

My guildies even joked that you sound like the type of person who, after dying through a stunlock, would rage whisper "I see you can't kill me without all those stuns."

Obviously, you are having some disconnect between warzone experiences and what's being discussed here. When's the last time you have even done a reg? The CCing can be problematic.

  9. So.. making an ability objectively worse isn't a nerf? Do I need to grab an internet dictionary for you?

I'm really not after individually depreciating people. There is honestly no point.

The problem is that you fail to rationalize what you're talking about here. Which is that there is factually no problem with the game. Just in your and the OP's perception there is. But if me and many other people aren't experiencing that same problem you are describing, it comes down to it just being a problem for the people in question.

The problem with this mindset is that you cannot accept that other people might have got something figured out where you havn't, and instead blame it on the system. If you would however take 2 seconds to consider all the variables and apply some common sense, you'd come to the conclusion that you just need to learn to understand the system yourself to make your problems go away.

Saying the game has "factually no problems" is meaningless. The amount of CC being appropriate can't be judged on fact. It's literally an opinion. And for you to say that "me and many other people aren't experiencing the same problem you are describing" is meaningless as well. That's called an ad populum falacy. I can easily say that lots of people experience frustration about chain CC, i.e. "Stun Wars." It doesn't prove anything. And since we care what toons people play, this is from an operative who uses Debilitator set. 8 sec hard stunlock per minute.

The OPs question revolved around regs, not ranked. At least 8 stuns per team per minute, plus mezzes. There is no "LOL l2p counterplay" to that. It's a very valid question how much crowd control is a "good" amount. If this question were never entertained, roots would still apply during whitebar--but clearly BW thought better and changed that.

tl;dr: Laughingly elitist Control-heavy Sin main clutches pearls at the suggestion of addressing CC in REGS.

  10. Congrats I know people that have pvpd in this game for years and still can't play for ****.

Sin is already in a crappy state at the moment, not any sort of nerf is warranted without any alternative changes to go with it. Using Low Slash only to break it instantly thereafter (thats the only way to get the effect you describe) is not a tactic good sins employ on anything but 1v1's. Its entirely irrelevant to the meta of PvP.

And sure, if you provide me with the cartel coins for a back and forth transfer I'll gladly indulge in your little challenge.

Fixing Low Slash isn't nerfing it. Just admit you are a Sin fanboy and can't discuss things rationally and call it a day.

Without the personal attacks on people's playing ability, which you can't seem to back up, you don't really have much to offer in this conversation.

  11. Yeah with "playing a class" i didn't mean having one at level 75, mate.

I meant knowing to play them well.

I also have one of every class and I don't experience any issues with crowd control on any of them. I'd sooner argue theres too many variants of immunity for it.

So again, this is a player problem. Not a game problem.

This is hilarious. Let's all bow to the only good pvper in this forum.

Bad news for your crap take on this, bud. I pvp on all classes. At 75. That's how you get gud. So I can see it from all perspectives. All I said was that resolve could be a little longer.

Not only did you not address what I said about Low Slash not behaving consistently, but you turned around into a strawman. *clap clap*

Come to Star Forge my stronghold and prove that it's just a "player problem."

  12. You're saying that because it annoys whatever class you like to play the most.

If you played an Assassin yourself you wouldn't be saying that.

I play all classes, so put your psychology degree back in your pocket. The problem with Low Slash is that it behaves like a stun instead of a mezz. If it broke on damage instantly like awe or flash, no prob. But you are stuck in the animation (or just stunned, whatever BW intended) for a solid 2 seconds.

So, again, I'd be ok with increased white bar or more resolve generated in general but especially from specific abilities.

  13. I'm a PVP junkie. It's by far my favorite thing to do in SWTOR. I'm trying to improve at ranked PVP.

The problem is the que times. I'm on Star Forge. I was in que for 30+ minutes last night at 8pm Central time. No pops. I got bored and logged off.

Bioware has to do something to incentivize people to join solo ranked or come up with a way increase the number of players to participate. I know we don't want random noobs with no gear queing and making games awful, but everybody has to start somewhere.

SWTOR is a really great game. I love it, but this is just broken as-is. I'm not sure what the solution is, my thought would be to increase rewards and add a minimum 306 gear requirement.

Looking for feedback on what can be done to help the situation.

A lot of the problem is the scoring system. It's possible to lose 20 points in a loss for every 10 points you gain from a win. So if there are throwers or newbs in queue, it's just not worth it to queue; it's too much risk (if you care about your rank). BW needs to rework the scoring system so that you don't lose rank/score if you lose (but maybe yes if you drop). Make wins just a few points. There would be no punishment for losing as you can't control your teammates in solos--and people who play a lot and WIN a lot get high rankings. In fact, BW only doles out Top 3 titles now to people who have a certain number of games under their belt.

  14. Came back recently and playing concealment, but compared to other classes it feels so weak and squishy. Heroic+2 I breeze through with my gunslinger or sentinel I freaking die on with my Operative. Does this sound legit or am I just playing it wrong?

Tank comp helps for more consistent Backstabs, and the aoe Volatile Substance tactical makes quick work of groups of mobs in Heroics.

If you are still leveling, tank comp is still good, just single target dps the mobs down starting with weakest to strongest.

  15. Sith Pureblood weren't meant to be played as Jedi. I am not saying they can't be, but a Sith Pureblood Jedi Knight or Consular should be exceedingly rare, seeing as how lore stipulates that the Sith Purebloods have a symbiotic relationship with the Dark Side and are born of the Dark Side. The Dark Side is a part of a Sith Pureblood's nature, so for one to become a Jedi would be... a once in a lifetime occurence.

This is why I believe people shouldn't use Lord Praven from the Jedi Knight story as a justification for their own use of a Light Side Sith Pureblood. Lord Praven is meant to be an exception, a once in a lifetime exception to the rule. And no, Lord Scourge isn't an example of another Light Side Sith Pureblood, because throughout all his companion conversations he makes very clear that he remains a Sith and a follower of the Dark Side. Lord Scourge does not turn to the Light Side, he is just pragmatic in his approach and methods.

So, it's good there is no extra or special dialogue for Sith Pureblood Jedi, as that might encourage people to make more Sith Pureblood Knights and Consulars. If you ask me, I already see too many on the Republic Fleet. As I said, Lord Praven was meant to be the extraordinarily, extremely rare exception to the rule. He is not meant to be used as a justification.

All this, while interesting, completely misses the point. There are times in the game where NPCs refer to your race. Sometimes their dialog doesn't make sense due to race/class combinations that were added after the dialog was recorded. So the OP is asking if any additional dialog has surfaced that shows a reflection of the new race/class combos.
