  1. Played SWTOR when it first came out and haven't touched it since January 2012. Maybe because I got to level 50 and did most of content then got bored. ^ If you want quick class changes style of game go play FFXIV when it comes out. I played the beta. It was the only solo journey style of play I didn't like. (my own personal opinion is I would rather have separate classes so I can play with other people. I play MMO's to play with other people. Hench my FFXI party experience. If I wanted to play a solo game, I'd just crack out one of my old SNES RPG's.) I don't know where they are on development for this section of swtor, but based on the end game stuff I've done on SWTOR I would have to rely less on other players for DD tank or healing and just solo everything If I had the option to change classes whenever I wanted.
  2. Havenstone, were you planning on a Trooper Vanguard? It sounded like if she was planning on seer sage for healing and you tank as a vanguard, that there would be minimal melee, thus maybe less healing? IMHO I like that setup, but a Knight(tank) would be more practical in this case.
  3. Very comprehensive guide and thought provoking. I was a healer in SWG years ago, but I wish I took more time evaluating healers then to give you some feedback and compare this class for fellow readers. I'll do a bit of digging and see what I find in the months ahead. Get some consular experience under my belt before giving a good analysis. Again, great job! Well read.
  4. Lol like when I get hit by the pebbles I cry, "I got a Rick Moranis stuck in my eye!" >.<
  5. Indeed. Which is why I'd rather wait till I have the money to buy it for what it's worth, then save that money, make decent payments to build my credit on the car until it is payed off by that 2 year mark or earlier. If anything happens I'll have saved money within that two year span to tackle any unforseen issues like a car accident or just get new tires. Oh wait then it's worth less than I paid for anyway by then xD I guess that's the way it goes with cars. Anyway.........I bought a HP Tower for around 500 bucks and its above recommended settings. The graphics card I bought for it is above par, but I've had some recent issues with my monitor it would change colors and flash. Not sure if this was SWTOR related, but it's been an issue since the last beta.
  6. There were two codes given out. One called the product code given to you when you bought the game. This will register your copy on the 20th for official launch. The EGA (early game access) code for pre-orders will be one sent to you by email. There is a forum post and information on system alerts on the game client when you start up the game talking about codes already been used. On your profile page there should be a list of codes that have been registered and used under your profile.
  7. Yeah I am just ready for something new and refreshing. Sadly my FFXI days aren't what they used to be. Too many friends stopped playing the game. :/
  8. 28th for me I believe is when I ordered it. I'm hopin for tomorrow as well. Which is fine with me because I don't work all weekend. Woohoo!
  9. Ok now I read the Tweet from RockJaw and all I could do was LOLz. nuff said there. next.
  10. Yep, gotta stop babysitting the minority. If you wanted to have a healthy environment for your consumer overall community, gotta just let to bad seeds go. That's why cell phone companies do not negotiate with customers that are always unhappy about their service because they're phone got turned off for not paying the bill for 3 months. Some people just grew up in a situation where to get what you want you gotta have a bad attitude all the time. That's an extreme example, but you guys know what I mean.
  11. See, now I haven't even looked at the tweet yet and I find what you say here a logicial conclusion to this forum thread.
  12. Really? Did they really have over 1 million pre-orders?
  13. A quick update on today's invites, and a little preview of tomorrow. Today, we invited people who had pre-ordered up to the very beginning of October (roughly). Tomorrow, we're going to be inviting the same number of people again; that will take us up to the last week or so of November. On Friday, we'll be inviting even more, and we'll give you an update on that tomorrow. You'll see more servers coming online tomorrow, and almost certainly there will be some queuing. That was always expected. As a reminder, our plan here is to maintain healthy server populations post launch, and during the excitement of launch that will mean queues. That said, we'll be working hard to keep those queues reasonable. We'll check back in tomorrow with another update. This text above is from BW's forum post. It's all about a smooth launch on the 20th of December. BW definitely has players in mind for doing staggered EGA. Read the Sticky on the Waves for today in General discussion. As it draws closer to the launch day, it sounds like by the time they get there it will be pretty smooth. Considering the difficult legacy BW has to follow with previous launch days with other MMOs.
  14. Well a lot of similar posts are... pre-mature in my mind. Just let me know if someone starts a protest rally about the pre-order blues outside BW and Gamestops around the country. I can't wait to play. I know I'll defintely be playing by the 20th so no big deal really. Not gonna ruin my year. The only thing I worry about is paying 5 dollars for early game access and I don't get it till the 19th. By that point I'd want a refund on my 5 bucks for 5 minutes or so of game time before midnight. I'm sure by the 15th for the official early game access date there will be a larger majority of players that are able to access the game. Just remember what BW's key goal was come the 20th, was a smooth launch. If are trying for a smooth launch and using the lottery method for EGA then so be it.
  15. That's probably what happened. I've seen some DVD boxes sold that way when it was obviously a 2 disc set when you would get a box with 3 slots for discs.
  16. Now that is an interesting comment. Perhaps it is this way. I did have trouble in beta with my companion with this. He would go harvest, but because of distance to the object or it's location under some stairs, or something else made him stuck in harvest mode and unable to help in a fight I was doing nearby. All my button mashing did not work to get him off the resource node. I guess we will see, come patch, if we have a clarification on this matter.
  17. Agreed. I remember having to run to instances in SWG on the planet of Kashyyyk, just to fight this General Grevious clone. Or was it the real him? Anyway, Even playing Ultima during 2TA I had to do a bit of exploration. I had help from guild mates to get to where we were going. I got lost for a bit till I found everyone, but I'm ok with that. Maybe I'm ok with that because I look back thinking how much fun I had, but I know at the time I was probably winded you could say from trying to find my way through this impossible maze of different zones. But thats what made it fun. I would not appreciate the world created if I did not have to go out and ride my horse on a road, through forests, deserts, mountains, and finally a cave just to get to the bottom to fight this giant monster. If he lived next door to my house I'd have 100+ players waiting in que as they took up space on my lawn and sitting around waiting to get in the small 8x8 box they call the monsters house. That to me is not as fun, but it did give me a chance to sit and chat with guild members. I have to say it's so true that the background goes under appreciated. Even when your there in the lair of the beast, but I hope gamers gain some persepective the reason we don't have a dungeon finder at the beginning of the game. I totally agree, let the game mature a bit when a large % of players HAVED explored the game before putting some sort of LFG system in. Regardless a community is going to find a social hotspot to sit and ask around for a group for flashpoints or help. I did see a small number of players sitting around the flashpoint NPC for Esseles during Beta, but that will be quite normal. Not to take away from anything you have said thus far on this thread OP. Hopefully adding to it.
  18. Maybe he already entered his "game code" in and forgot. If you only entered in your early game access redemption code I'd be a bit worried because your suppose to not be able to get subscription until that game code is entered in.
  19. Pre-order code and game code are two separate things. Just so people know when they post on this thread. There is a thread on the new player page and BW commented on it so there is no confusion. Oh and uh pre-ordered before beta. Waiting on that email to get my game code to play pre.
  20. Awesome video man. I was thoroughly entertained!
