  1. And is with it's price of 2800 USD actually the biggest ripoff in history of PC hardware... For that price you get Notebooks that are a lot faster. Specially given that the Blade struggles in many new games to reach 30 fps, which is extremely unacceptable for that high price. But yeah, that's what you get for using mid-range hardware components that are commonly used in Notebooks around 800 to 1500 USD... I can recommend Schenker Notebooks when it comes up to gameing, defiantly best performance right now, though, they aren't easy to come by.
  2. I think most people just got tired of the whining, and left the Forum.
  3. I very well do know what I'm talking about. And MS even says the same for Windows XP, Physical Memory Limits: Windows XP x86 4 GB. But that is not really a Windows XP limit, it is simply the limit of the 32 Bit address room. I also want to quote from a ZDNet article regarding this "The 4GB limit refers to total addressable memory space and not just the RAM installed. It’s a total made up of system RAM, graphics RAM, PCI memory range, ACPI and a few other bits and pieces. " You can read the whole article here: http://www.zdnet.com/blog/hardware/clearing-up-the-3264-bit-memory-limit-confusion/3124 There is a work around for that however, if the Hardware and software supports it (PAE).
  4. I didn't have a security key issue at all so far, so no idear what you are talking about. Also, I haven't seen a single unharvestable node since the fix, only nodes that some players started harvesting but didn't loot, and therefore making them useless for others for x minutes. Non-responsive UI bug seems to be a more deeper issue then you might think. I haven't had the problem since 1.0.1something. same for a few others of my friends. Then one always gets it after having been in a group, or while being in a group. Enemies getting stuck in a wall, yeah I know that stuff from many other games, I guess I'm just to used to it as that it really would bother me. Never heard of the launcher bug though, so no idear again like on the Security Key issue. Companions sometimes also die on lifts btw. Also, i really didn't encounter most problems you describe yet, which surely means that they aren't present. Just means I'm quiet lucky. xD But yet: It's quiet not as bugged as many MMO's I played at lunch. Also: I can life with those bugs for some time, max 2 months though, then I would start getting worried.
  5. Rift is also a significant smaller Game, and in regards to bugs and fixes in Rift, I think a lot of people would greatly disagree with you there. So far I also can't complain about customer Service on here, I had a fast response to my support ticket I wrote some days ago. And support in the forums? What do you expect, it's hard to keep track of proper threats that actually suggest good stuff or ask questions, between all the whiny threads. I also have to say, I rather have them working on code, instead of answering to questions on the forum 8 hours a day. Sure communication is quiet not here right now, but it will have it's reasons. But a guy crying cause a dev didn't answer within an hour (or at all) to a question in the Forum.... Well okay, I know such things already from other MMO's like SWG and WoW...
  6. The things is: They pulled that crap a lot of times, putting patches onto the servers that apparently haven't been tested before. Also, I know from a lot of people, that WoW still has bugs from Beta these days. So i can't really see where their fixing is different to the fixing BW is doing. I also still am surprised that we get that many fixes and updates within the first month. Regardless of this delay on the patch, which I don't see as a issue or conspiracy behind it. Fact is: Stuff happens, even a few hours before a patch is released, happens here, and in other MMOs, and there is two things you can do: Put the patch on the servers and hope it works, or you delay it. What also many people don't understand: A bug report always gets a premade response. There is no point in informing the bug reporter about every little step that's done to fix the issue. In regard of release: It's still one of the most bug-free MMOs that's just one month old, sound dumb, but sadly is reality. Some MMO's take months to get to this state. Also comparing a MMO like ToR, to little Half Life mods is also kinda... how to say it... comparing the fixing and building of a Ford Model T with a the building and fixing of Mercedes SLS AMG. The Model T simply has hardly anything that can break... What also many people don't see: The Game simply has to be released at some point, and a MMO won't be bug free at release, that never works, and will never ever happen. Thing is also: It's not just BW and/or EA that decide when a Game is being released. It's also the licence owner (Lucas Film Ltd.). And oh, from a Marketing point of view, it would be a smart move from Lucas to force EA/BW to release ToR around the time Episode 1 3D comes into the cinemas. Also: There are bugs that are considered high priority and low priority. So, some things might be pushed back, happens. Sure there are wrong decisions under it, like the Kira bug, they probably though, "We release the game and within the first week we fix that." But people that already leveled so high, kinda got stuck, and have to wait for 1.1 now. Just a bad estimation on how fast people would level, and yeah apparently it turned out that they couldn't fix it as easy as they thought. So yeah bad decision. Would BW do it different with that knowledge now? Probably yes. Of course you can be disappointed about that. But if you have a problem with such stuff, you shouldn't buy a MMO on release day, cause such things are gonna happen, always did, and always will be, on every MMO out there. So wait a few months.
  7. Some time ago, but does it matter? people seemed fine with it over at WoW.
  8. I vote that BW works like Blizzard: Pushing a patch onto the servers, and then discovering a bug, and the servers are offline for 2 days.
  9. I can't recommend upgrading the video card. I run it on a 9800 GT Green edition. It's just fine. Though, from experience I can say, that Vista 32 Bit performs kinda sluggish on about every computer. And Vista 64 Bit performs much much much better. Though, surely I can't guarantee that the Game sudently runs perfect after switching to a 64 Bit Vista or Win 7. And yeah AMD CPU's seem to have performance issues, my Athlon X2 was mehish, ok well, it is/was in many games... it is a AMD after all. Since some days I got a Intel Celeron with Sandy Bridge architecture. And have no problems anymore. It actually does not just reconise 4 GB of memory, it also addresses 4 GB of memory. (THere is more memory in a PC then just the RAM, for example the VRAM, which is also memory, and counts to these 4 GB as well)
  10. Very nice idear, and one of the very very very rare good Forum posts.
  11. WoW introduced mechanics to the MMO genre? o.O I'm shocked! I can'Ät remember a single peace of game mechanics in WoW, that actually haven't been taken from other MMOs
  12. Didn't bother to read the whole whine threat. But honestly, I'm lvl 22 Sorc, madness tree, and i steamroll some of the lvl 50's with battlemaster gear, So I don't see the problem with expertise at all. It gives them a bit bonus dmg and defense, thats about it. No big deal.
  13. I don't see a problem with expertise. It's fine, let lvl 50 people have it. Also: lvl 50 players that faceroll you, don't just do that cause of expertise, they also do that cause they know how to play their class.
  14. Oh, also forgot: If a game goes F2P, it doesn't mean that it is bad. In fact, Blizzard might be able to do much more money if they came up with a F2P system.
  15. I can remember, when WoW was announced, with all those features taken from Other MMO's from it's time. But many thing just poorly made. And so much standards missing, like Player Housing. What kinda was standard back in 2004. Proper PVP missing.. and so on. It was at his release, the probably worst MMO out in the wild. But why is it still around? Simple answer: People gave it a chance, and did let it improve and grow over time. Also, ToR doesn't take idears from WoW. It takes the idears from where WoW took them. As I said earlier. I can't remember anything in WoW, that I didn't see before in another MMO.
