  1. About two weeks ago, it was undocumented. I can confirm that they definitely changed it, the difference was like night and day.
  2. As the Bioware rep said in this thread, the fight was never supposed to be that way. 1.1 fixed it, as you can see by all the posts in the past few pages proclaiming victory over the Emperor.
  3. Hi I don't think you've played it since 1.1. Soothe your frustrations, it's not the Jedi way.
  4. It seems like there was an undocumented change. I'm there right now, and there is significantly less trash and the mobs aren't as difficult. The issue with the puzzle chest also seems to have been resolved. I'm still struggling with the fight itself, but it definitely seems doable now. I could barely make a dent in the Emperor before, but now I'm definitely giving him a run for his money. The only issue remaining is that the HP bar on his dupes don't seem to go down correctly, or at all, which is kind of frustrating when I have to be quick about taking them down. I pretty much have to guess how many strikes it takes to make one disappear. Edit: Aaaaand he glitched on me. I ran up the steps with T7, and when we both hit him at the same time, he yielded instantly. Such a bummer, but at least I'm now confident I could have completed it since the fix.
  5. ^ That's exactly what I'm afraid of. I don't want to give it another attempt unless I know the fight has been fixed, because it kind of ruins the experience if the Emperor glitches immediately and ends the fight. It's so anticlimactic. I was actually going to try it again tonight to see if they snuck in any changes during the patch, but you saved from wasting my time.
  6. I know it's not the only LoS fight in the game, but this is the only instance of it happening in a class quest. At least that I know of, since I haven't seen it in any of the other class quests. Anyway, the Bioware rep who posted in this very thread said that it's not intentional, so I'm more inclined to believe that. Edit: Here's the post addressing the subject. /edit That's the thing, though. The fight is supposed to cater to the Jedi Knight ability set, so utilizing your collection of interrupts should be encouraged. And from the sounds of it, that was supposed to be the intention, but somehow it ended up the way it is now. As a Watchman Sentinel, there's just no way I can follow the intended mechanic in the encounter's current state.
  7. If you approach it the same way you approach the standard class boss battles, then it's obviously different. You said yourself you hugged torches to break his line of sight, which is apparently not the intended tactic of the fight.
  8. Add me to the growing list of people who haven't been able to do this fight. I was really excited for this quest when I hit 50 a week ago, because I was still high off of the momentum the class story built up, only to be left disappointed with a massive repair bill. I tried doing the LoS technique that has been so often repeated in these threads, but it's just not fun to me, and it's obviously not the intended strategy of the fight based on what the Bioware rep said in this thread. I'm not really interested in trying to glitch him, either, which is another reason why I've just stopped trying all together. I'm not sure what I would change, though. Sure, it would be awesome if Force Sweep or any other AoE attack would make the dupes disappear, but then what would be the point of even having them if they could be disposed of instantly? I think my only suggestions would be to nerf how powerful his attacks are, or chop off a portion of his HP. By no means am I saying I want this fight to be EZ-mode, but I think it's pretty indisputable that the difficulty of this fight isn't really in line with everything leading up to it, as it's a glaring imbalance. So here's hoping that this will be fixed soon. Otherwise I guess I'll have to wait for help, because I was the first of my friends to hit 50 and they're not even close to being caught up with me yet. Side question: does saving your companion really make a difference? I thought it was just an optional side objective that had no bearing on anything.
