  1. Computer resolution doesn't equal the game resolution my friend. I think there is a setting before you launch the game to change some of the video settings, like a gear on the lower left side.
  2. Here is an interesting link for you to just take a look at The 32 bit OS(aka x64) will only limit how much total ram you have in the pc. 64 bit would be better, but if you have 4gb, you should be alright with 32 bit for now. The decision is yours of course. Just take a look at the cost. Ram prices are pretty low at the moment if you decide to jump to 64 bit windows 7 and increase your ram. I would suggest a single high end card for now as your best bet, because you can always go down the line later on and grab the same card for a cheaper price to run SLI with. Good luck!
  3. Based on http://www.swtor.com/support/helpcenter/2029 (the min specs sheet) AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ or better or Intel Core 2 Duo Processor 2.0GHz or better You probably do need a better processor...but I honestly don't know how the processor min actually runs or if it's off. RAM: Kick it up to 4gb or higher if you can. Prices are crazy low on ram at the moment, and there are lots of tools out there to find what type of ram your motherboard supports. Graphics: 550ti is around 115 for a nice stable card. The more you pay..the better the card you'll get and the longer the card will last. I run a gtx 570 and don't plan on replacing the card for another 5+ years (provided technology doesn't jump the specs on games up that much). Do some searches on newegg, tigerdirect, crucial, and the other sites for the prices and compare.
  4. Are you running 64 bit Windows 7? Or maybe just say what version....that does matter between 32/64 bit on utilizing the extra ram. Have you tried updating your Nvidia drivers to the latest version? Have you tried turning graphics preset to HIGH, hit APPLY. Then set it to LOW, hit APPLY and see if there is a difference? If this does work, then set it to a custom setting on what you are comfortable with. Shadows off may also help, as is whatever resolution you are running the game at.
  5. Yes, it will. You're using an ATX tower (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_computer_form_factors ). The motherboard is an ATX form factor as well so you should be fine. The motherboard/cpu should be compatible.
  6. Go with a better video card. A lot of games really don't support SLI to the best extent, so getting an awesome card then maybe going SLI later would be better. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that SLI is not properly supported right now in SWTOR. I could be wrong though. SSD does help with loading times, but if you want eyecandy...go video card all the way. Make sure your power supply can handle an increased load if you do upgrade any hardware on your computer.
  7. Looking at the specs listed at.. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c02996672 It looks like it'll run a ok on the go. Maybe not max settings, but not the bare min either though.
  8. What are your system specs? If you're running something on max graphics with no issues except warzones, you may need to check with swtor support. I would check to make sure you do some of the tricks that others have suggested in turning graphics preset to high, apply, then low, apply and then whatever you want and applying that. It has worked on many graphics lag and other issues before. Turning shadows off along with this may fix your problem. I am curious what your specs are though. Your system may not be able to run at the max settings. Does this problem happen while questing or in very people busy areas such as the republic/imperial fleet?
  9. Could you explain what you mean by "lag"? It could be issues with your internet and not your system, or even an issue with SWTOR servers. Is your version of windows seeing that 6gb of ram? You could upgrade the video card. Based on your specs you're listing that seems to be something you could upgrade to something better for less than $100.
  10. It should run swtor with no real issues that I see. Are you looking into high video settings though? Or just making sure the game runs pretty smoothly?
  11. If you're running the specs listed on the gateway page... http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/1014733R/1014733Rsp2.shtml Then most likely it's your video card since it looks like its a very old built in card. You probably need a dedicated card for this game, or maybe a high end processor with its own gpu (like a sandy bridge) to run this. I would suggest a new system to be honest...but if that is not an option, try a video card and see if you can do anything with the processor speed. The machine seems to be pretty old (4gb max ddr2 ram, and a few other older pieces). It still can run a good portion of games..just swtor needs better than average hardware.
  12. I find that some people who have a video card that is supposed to be able to run it, are using older cards that are not running the latest drivers, or not having a good enough Shader 3.0 support. I have not checked your cards specs though. Tried increasing pagefile size? Defragment hard drive? (worth a try) Update Video drivers to latest you can get? Are you running XP service pack 3 with all updates? The min specs are just that..where you get a playable experience. Doesn't mean you get an enjoyable experience
  13. What are the system requirements for the game? Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ or better Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz or better Operating System: Windows XP or later So, you'll be fine
  14. It should run just fine for the most part. Or are you seeking to see if it can run it max settings?
  15. Your links don't work for me for some odd reason. Can you be a little more specific on parts? What your setup currently is would be nice as well. I can't seem to find your post either in this thread...odd. O_o
