  1. /Click raid frame.

    /press bound key on keyboard.

Why in God's name would you be trying to click on people in the game field to heal them? That's what raid frames are for...

Same thing with cycling friendly targets.

Why in the world would you be cycling through targets to heal?

    One more time.

    /Click raid frame.

    /press bound key on keyboard.

You have a point. Healing is not impossible in this game right now, but mouse-over targeting would be a big quality of life upgrade IMHO.

  2. I think your on to something Lethality. This game has a lot going for it, but it needs more! I was just reading through the Guild Wars 2 web site and they have a lot of great ideas going into their game. Dynamic events, Environmental Weapons, and inprovised tactics looked very interesting.

I wouldn't mind seeing BioWare venture outside the box a little bit when it comes to new ideas. I hope they are not afraid to test the waters.

  3. And ranged have enough slows and CCs to maintain range equal to melees ability to close range.

Please dont say there is not enough CC in this game in PVP.

Basically this is a case of ranged wants to have its cake, eat it and then take cake from the melee.. and everyone wonders why ranged rule this game.

I suppose I dont understand this point at all. I play a sage, and if I let a melee near me I die in a few GCDs, I think this is a great penalty for ranged getting to close.

and for the record, I have NEVER stolen ANY ONES cake.... EVER!

  4. L2 use your gap closer abilities. If you're a melee class and you're stuck at 30meters you're not doing it right. Melee classes in this game have a variety of gap closures, snares, LOS, stuns, etc.

I would go as far as to say melee enjoy a much better quality of life (in terms of gap-closing) then most other MMOs, lots of force jumps, harpoon pulls ect. out there.

  5. Please provide a better reason.

There is no logical reason for ranged units to suffer 0 penalty in melee when melee units suffer 100% damage loss at range.

melee dont "suffer 100% damage loss at range" they are just a melee class.

Keep in mind that ranged basically suffer from from 100% damage increase in melee range because ranged classes were designed to have to be at range to both survive and deal damage, cant have both in melee range. Frankly, I think these game mechanics are working as intended. No need to re-invent the wheel.

  6. How would it cause problems if it was player vs player? I assume it would be very much like the beetle racing that Guild Wars did.

    Agree with your suggestions.

What about a neutral zone/swoop race zone. You could swoop race and try and beat NPC times OR if there is another player there (sith or pubs) you could challenge them to a swoop race much like a duel? They could even make an animation of your character taking off their glove and slapping the would be opponent in the face!

    thoughts?

  7. Yeah clear the rafters, and then while you are standing up there after clearing the rafters I will force charge to you, force push you, and force charge to someone else. BAM goal.

    Thanks for the easy win.

Yup, and thats why this is a good game. Lots of class counters. It all comes together quite well when everyone is working as a team, and playing their classes strengths. ;)

  8. I don't think this is a Sorc problem, more of a your team doesn't know how to clear the rafters problem. So ultimately it's because you're queued with a bunch of randoms. It is annoying, but it's not unbeatable.

You nailed it. No need for a nerf, but LOTS of need for good communication in PvP.

    Clear the rafters. Problem solved.

  9. You interrupt 1 heal, they wait 4 seconds and just heal again. Also how do you kite a ranged class? That its impressive.

4 sec is more than enough time to get the upper hand. Not to mention the fact that there heals are only about 2k. As a DPS class I have never even bothered interrupting the 2k heals it takes Mercs forever to cast.

  10. I really don't understand why sorc/sages are cryin at the moment that they don't need a nerf cause this class "squishy like this or that.Simple question to all the sorc/sage players.

    - WHY %60-70 of imp players are playin sorc OR %60-70 of republic players are playing Sage?

Give a honest answer. Then you will understand why this class needs a nerf.

Im a sage. I guess your right. They should nerf sorcs/sages for being popular. That way all sorcs/sages will suck and people will stop playing them problem solved. You seem to have a firm grasp on the concept of balance. popular=OP. I cant believe Bioware hasn't hired you as the CEO.

  11. shock hits like a wet noodle on anyone with gear

mercs hav cc BETTER dmg, healing and better survivability

so why are we being crucified?

i can tell who here pvps alot and who doesnt because anyone who grinded to battlemaster the hard way through warzones knows sorcs are a utility and aoe class.. but any focus ont hem at all without guard and theyre drop in seconds

if a sorc/sage is bothering ur wz. then focus them story over

ima sorc and you kno who I focus FIRST? other sorcs because they die the FASTEST

    ^^ true.

  12. No matter what class I play, the opposing team's Sage/Sorc players always dominate. The problem is, they just have too many tools at their disposal. Despite wearing light armor, they're extremely durable because of their bubble. If a fight goes south, they can always pop their in-combat sprint and run away. And with an insta-slow on top of the passive snare on their rocks/lightning, it's impossible to run from one unless you happen to catch them in CC with their CC-breaker on cooldown. And even standing toe-to-toe with them doesn't work, because they have DoTs that allow them to deal fire-and-forget damage, then pillar hump the nearest LoS object while they heal themselves.

There's no warzone they don't excel in, and there's no 1v1 fight they can't win. And to top it off, they can still fall back and heal their teammates in group situations if their DPS isn't doing the job.

The Sage/Sorc is just good at too many things, and has way too many tools for combat disruption and soft crowd control. This is a constant the holds true in my mind no matter which class I face off against them with.

And this doesn't take into account that all of their damage bypasses almost all types of armor and defenses.

    Let the flame war commence!

For anyone new t this topic, this OP has clearly never played a Sage/Sorc at end game. At level 50 every class can counter them, the only thing you need is skill. L2P, practice makes perfect.

  13. hahaha you think that makes it ok

4 people should be killing 1 guy, because if that 1 guy wasn't a sorc/sage he isn't getting away

Why is this the only class that's allowed to live in situations where he has been outplayed?

Ever thought about just letting the sage/sorc go and taking your team of 4-5 people to go complete a PvP objective?

The best part about force speed is that, when properly used, you can entice 4-5 people to chase you around while the rest of your team.... WINS THE GAME.

Seriously, the first thing you did wrong in PvP was get tunnel vision trying to kill one Sage/sorc. Let them run, they are taking them selves out of the fight giving you and your 4 buddies an opportunity to get back to the actual match.

There is no aspect/ability of SWTOR PvP that is so OP that it negates good tactics. If your a good player you can play ANY class well. L2P.

  14. Sorceror Lightning Strike.

    Sage Disturbance.

    No Cooldown.

Can Crit for about the same as Tracer Missile.

    Same Cast time.

    Same Range.

I dont think Tracer Missile should be nerfed, it is VERY easy to LoS.

But I dont think you have actually played a sage/sorc before, if lightning strike/disturbance hit that hard then there would be no reason use any of the dozen other abilities they have. It would render all the other mechanics useless. C'mon.
