  1. In the novels they've done some crazy stunts to escape from tractor beams and on some of those occasions the ships are pushed to the limit. Still that depends on the placement of the ship in relation to the area of effect of the tractor beams. If the cones of the beams overlapped with opposing vectors of identical force they would most likely cancel each other. Like a Venn diagram where the left and the right side pull towards their respected directions, but the middle section would stay neutral. Now if the beam didn't overlapped, but instead just barely touch upon the sides of the vessel it would likely create a rather destructive situation. Yet you have to keep in mind that the beam in its cone shape pulls in one direction, so most pilots try to escape by going over the edge of beams radius. To compensate for that, tractor beam stations are controllable by beam engineers or operators who maintain the target in range. So to split a craft apart both beams would have to be handle in congruent trajectories. Which is highly unlikely, especially by enemy forces. Or so I think
  2. There are many things the Republic ended up with from the Sith Empire in the thousands of years after its eventual defeat. Including capital ship design, uniform style for officers, and most important of all a British accent like the ones used by Obi Wan and Tarkim. What I don't know is what happened to the Sith Purebloods? Did their lineage became muddled enough that they eventually looked like ordinary humans?
  3. Also because they don't have eyes they aren't limited to whats in front of them. For example a person with eyes can perceive the thing in their field of vision but if you are standing behind them they can't see you, yet if your a Miraluka they can be behind you, to the side, or in any direction and you will have an awareness of their presence. Making sneaking and stealth field generator pretty much absolute. At least that's what I think.
  4. I haven't read all the star wars books (only a hand-full), but I truly enjoyed the Thrawn Trilogy and the Darth Bane trilogy. One is just after the classic trilogy and the other is a long time before the prequels. Also there are three novels that tie in directly with the game (Fatal Alliance, Deceived, and Revan) and three short comic books (Threat of Peace and Blood of The Empire you can read right here on the site and Black Suns).
  5. You guys are forgetting the reason why the species in the game are very human like, and its not that bioware is lazy. The playable species in game as mentioned by Daniel Erickson and other developers is that a character has to be romanceble. In other words walking carpets, fish faces, and alien monstrosities won't work as playable species. Plus you won't find a jawa so adorable if you see whats under the hood. Another thing is that most species should be mammalian so they can possess the human body type. That being said I think that Togruta, Arkanian, and Cathar would fit well in the Republic. While Chagrian, Zeltron, Zygerian would not be bad in the Empire. Also Nautulan, Kiffar, Duros, Nikto, Devaronian, Elomin, Bolosar, and Iktotchi are plausible. The only problem being to add enough variety in their customization and managing head slot equipment such as helmets and hoods.
  6. He isn't truly a bug, he is a kilik joiner. Which means he is a human with weird black bug like eyes who has enhance senses and communicates with a hive of sentient humanoid insects. He is like Legion from mass effect 2, mixed with spider-man, and a diplomat.
  7. Right now I'm at 30 in the game and suddenly it got a lot harder, at first a though it was because I started using Vector, but when I switched back to Kaliyo I still kept dying more than usual. I'm thinking I need to level up my engineer more before I continue questing.
