  1. SO they happen to have it disabled for a small portion of the game, but not across the whole game everywhere? I'm not quite happy with how that makes me feel. I've enjoyed this game without the conquest thing, I would like to disable the banner completely. I see the progress in the chat window, which is good enough for me. Conquest hasnt enhaqnced anything for my gaming expeirnece, it's been a downgrade. A visual annoyance most of ther time.... I have died once because of the banner hiding relevant information on my screen (i.e. enemy health bars). Had some hostiles spawn next to me, and I didnt see them because the conquest banner was in the way. I would like the Conquest progress to be AoD (Available on Demand). And option to disable it in the interface editor. I dont like a large portion of my screen obstructed during combat, any combat anywhere in the game. I dont know what conquest has added other than visuals telling me I gained some experience somewhere. My enjoyment of the game is impaired by the banner, so I would rather not have the banner at all. Here is what I see, and it is obstructing two enemies HP bars, I cant see past the banner, this is open world PvE content: https://i.imgur.com/yh3PlxP.jpg I can see the Conquest progress in the chat window just fine. I dont need the large visual in addition to that. If they MUST have the banner there for whatever reason, please put the enemy health bars over the Banner, not behind the conquest banner please. the banner is too obstructive to my usual gameplay. TL: DR: I want the option to disable the Conquest Banner no matter where I am in game. The banner isnt 'improving' my game in any way, instead, the banner is making the game less enjoyable.
  2. I have a friend who can barely play the game as it is, but it is one of very few games he can actually play with his 15+ year old PC. I am against a graphic update. I like it how it is.
  3. So not just me... OP too? Anyone have a way around this? I died earlier today because I coldnt see enemies that appeared in front of me because of this new Conquest popup hiding their health bars, and sometimes what I am targeting is hidden too. I cant see, with two enemies in front of me, I cant see their health, nor which one I am targeting. I'm sure there are two (see screenshot). But I cant tell which one I am targeting, Popup is in the way Here's a look at what I am seeing: https://i.imgur.com/yh3PlxP.jpg
  4. " I have a huge pop-up in the middle of my screen which kind harms visibility of the very fight I'm in" Edit to add: Same here, like this: https://i.imgur.com/yh3PlxP.jpg Dear Devs, I would like the option to disable several UI elements These are UI elements I dont need/want on my screen. - "the Light/Dark side grows stronger" - Guild Control For the area I am in. - "NEW" Personal Conquest progress When there are other UI elements on my screen, the Personal conquest moves in the middle of my screen as it bumps down to make way for the other UI elements, and so the personal Conquest can cover some necessary UI elements I need to know in order to stay alive (ie enemy health/cast bar) I tried looking in Preferences > User Interface, to see if there was a tickbox to toggle off, and I couldnt find any. I would like a tickbox to toggle off the Personal Conquest window please. Thank you very much, GreenRoc, Founder
  5. I see it now! You are awesome! (An in-game purple elevator button would be useful *cough cough*) "Alliance Operations" Elevator Destination, now there's my purple marker, thanks tons!
  6. I would like the option to disable this new Conquest window thing as well.
  7. Quest: Hearts and Minds TL;DR: I am very lost. Can anyone help find this quest turn-in location please? https://swtor.jedipedia.net/en/qst/hearts-and-minds I'm being prompted to use a holoterminal, but I dont know where. Info Dump: Google searches and the quest details have been vague, and there is no purple marker in the map. I've narrowed down where I need to go via other forum posts, to where I had a meting with Alliance leaders, but I've looked in-game, and browsed google and these forums for many hours over the course of several days*. I have been unable to locate this Holoterminal that I am supposed to use. Multiple search results show me the purple mission icon is 'missing' for this particular quest, and/or is in a personal instance that I left (distracted by a squirrel). The terminal supposedly is located around some inner circle, past a canteena and/or on the other side of a table where I had a meeting. I remember the meeting, there was a nice clear glass pane looking out over a horizon. The nice kitty man didnt want to participate anymore since I chose to stick to Imps. The place this meeting took place is apparently where the terminal is? Maybe? I cant remember the planet, or the city, and I maybe seeing some of this information in other forum threads that is about another quest with the same name. I cant remember how to get back to that meeting room. Another thread said next to the Star Forge Entrance is an elevator to that meeting room... but I cant find the star forge entrance. I am not sure if this Oddyseus (sp) is the right planet, or is Nar Shaddaa? I'm on a Sniper class. I've tried my ship's holoterminal on the Odysseus(sp) planet, as well as my ship's holo terminal while in Nar Shadda's orbit. No success on either attempt in the ship. I tried restarting the game client (fully closed out, used launcher to get back in) but still didnt get a RP dialog thing at the ship's holo terminal. Each time, I see a chat bubble when I click, interface goes poof for a moment, then back to interface and no cinematic/RP. This link is the quest, use holoterminal, and name in it is Lord izar https://swtor.jedipedia.net/en/qst/hearts-and-minds P.S. (been off SWTOR for two years, founder title. I'm still a bit rusty from the lack of playing) * = Three "I give up's", one per day, over these last few days, after a couple hours searching each time with no usable/correct holoterminal found for this quest. My patience is wearing thin, must recover. I am usually very long-winded. I dont want to upset people, but I struggle to make briefer posts, so I usually try to figure stuff out on my own, or with friends, and this one quest has me quite puzzled and feeling stuck.
  8. I wasn't aware of this, so nope haven't tried. I found out I had removed the wrong bitraider folder ... There was one in "Documents" that I removed, and when that didn't work, I posted this thread. Later (before I read your post) I browsed more old threads and realized I was to remove the folder in the original install location. I removed that folder, and then saw your post. I'll go try to load the game with that folder removed. If that doesn't work, I'll try the repair you suggested, and report back here once I've tried to launch the game. Edit to add: Ok, it is working now. I had removed the wrong folder before. Removing the BitRaider folder from the game folder worked. Folder location on my computer: C: > Program Files (x86) > Electornic Arts > BioWare > Star Wars - The Old Republic P.S. Thank you for the help Deathpool
  9. Posting to add: I am able to launch the game just fine on another computer, my laptop, but my laptop is very slow, and almost unplayable in some ways. Seems this error is an issue on my end, but I don't know how to fix it.
  10. Is anyone else getting this error? How did you fix it? I googled and found an old thread (2015) that said to delete BitRaider folder, so I moved that folder to another location (in case deleting didn't work, and I should move it back) but after removing that folder, the game client still won't properly load. Quote: "This program encountered an internal error and will exit. Error code: C5 Failed to load game assets. Please contact customer support." The customer support website is so confusing/frustrating/unpleasant, last time I used that website, the website would not log me out until I removed my cookies which messed up my other cookies (and I just do not enjoy using that site whatsoever, it is frustrating and I am already having a frustrating day, I don't want more). I am hoping someone here maybe able to help. Thanks in advance <3
  11. I am having the same issue as here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=561410 I am trying to save an image of my desktop to my clipboard, but for some reason my Paste icon in MSPaint is not showing it has anything on the clipboard after I use my usual Print Screen button combo. My keyboard uses FN (Function)+PrintScr (PrintScr is the same button as Home) to save an image of the desktop to the clipboard. I tried the suggestion in the old thread using ctrl+printscreen, but that just put me at the top of the webpage. Also tried alt+Printscreen, that did not work either. I use dual monitors and I am trying to take a screenshot of my email to report a bug to Microsoft, and I run across a bug coming from having swtor game client running in the background. I closed the game client and my Function+PrintScr works as expected. Summary: I expect FN+PrintScrn to save an image to my clipboard if I have the game client in the background, but no, not working. Please fix.
  12. Suggestion: Optional Level Shift for PvE realms/areas. - I enjoy one-shotting things. - I don't like being scaled to the area. - I don't get along with most other players so I want to be able to play everything on my own. (usually they hate me or do things that just tick me off and I have to leave the game because I am easily, very easily upset by jerks, and this game has plenty of them 'nasties'). Please know that there are many players who are introverts, and that is not a bad thing, just a different way than those who are extroverts. - Current forced level shift makes many group objectives impossible for some players to solo. Please let me choose if I want to be at level, or OP.
  13. Suggestion: Click-to-move option, where you right (or left click) the ground and your character will move to the location where you clicked. Why I want this feature: My close internet friend is quadriplegic and plays games with just mouse controls using a jouse. He is able to play games like Diablo, Path of Exile, World of Warcraft, Heroes of the Storm, and many more. But he is unable to play Star Wars the Old Republic because there is no Click-to-Move option. Other ramblings: While I was watching my internet friend's livestream, I mentioned how ToR is a lot like Warcraft, and I told him I would look into ToR to see if he would be able to play it. Sadly, I could not find the Click-to-move options. I did a search, and the top results of forum posts where someone asked where the click to move option was, had replies telling them to use two mouse buttons, or use keyboard controls. My quad friend cannot do these things with his Jouse. Please please please add this feature! My quad friend is interested in playing.
  14. Thank you TX_Angel. We use a guild for a personal chat room for our family, a place to collect and store things (guild bank) the boosted XP we get from being in guilds, and the new guild strongholds,. We like seeing our Guild name above our toons, like a cosmetic title that we picked ourselves.
  15. Suggestion: Opt-out of Auto-Promote Guildmaster, option for guilds. Maybe require all members (or majority of members) to agree. I think this would be good for family guilds, and perhaps guilds who don't mind if a guild master hasn't been around for months, and perhpas might be good for folks who maybe anti-social, or guilds who don't put much value into organizing guild groups for whatever reason. Maybe someone has a personal guild, and doesn't want to lose the guild name, because they play one game for several weeks straight, and another game for several weeks straight, and then another game for weeks straight, and would be saddened to come back to Star Wars and find s that someone else decided they had to lose the guild name because of someone else's judgement of inactivity, regardless of the individual's judgement of activity, which may be a longer length of time than what the general population things. Inactivity is subject to opinion. While most people might agree that 30 days is considered inactive, and a new guild leader MUST be chosen due to the opinion that a guild leader must be around more often, some of us (ilke me and my best friend) disagree at these values (when it comes to our gameplay style), and find the auto-promote guild leader tool a severe annoyance. My best friend and I have made several guilds together. We originally formed them through swtor website months (perhaps years) before beta. We remade them in-game when it was possible to do so. We are like-minded, and unlike most people. We do not care for activity, we play once a month or less (having dozens of other games, and also life to spend time on). This level of activity is our play style. All members of our guilds are us, and our family. For my BFF's sake, I paid sub, and. I was lead for months, paid then her uncle decies he'd play tor (hadn't played for months because he's busy playing other games), and plays ToR for several days straight (our whole guild plays like this). I come back and I find the uncle now has guild lead. I am very perturbed at this. I pay for a sub to keep the lead, that was my primary reason for subbing, but I now see, subbing doesn't guarantee leadership. I have in front of me, a paper listing all the accounts I have to log into on a monthly basis, all because someone else decided a certain duration of time is considered inactive, and I'd lose something if I don't log in "often enough".. I find it to be a chore, and once a month is apparently not often enough. I hate it when things are deleted because we weren't logged in "often enough", often enough according to majority opinion. In comparison, Warcraft has a 3 month policy for their guild leaders. I log into my Warcraft guilds often enough to keep leadership there, and it is at comfortable levels for my login pattern. Most WOW guilds that I am in are my BFF guilds, or her hubby's, and the rest are my own. Her family is in them too. Three months required is reasonable in my opinion, and it's comfortable. I don't have to stress over 3 months. 4 weeks is not comfortable, because if I try and log in on the same day of the month, it would be slightly longer than 4 weeks, and then I'd lose lead, regardless of the whole guild being in agreement of my rank, and the entire guild not caring at all for my lack of leadership behaviors. I completely understand if you strongly (and aggressively) believe what a guild leader should and should not do, but that is your guild, and your guild leader. You have every right for options on your guild. For me and my BFF's guilds (her and her family and I have been gaming together for over a decade) what is good for the goose is not good for the gander. We are displeased at the login requirement for our guild leader, because our guild leader gets changed around so frequently, I'm at a point of not caring anymore (this suggestion is my last effort to possibly remedy this, and if it happens it happens, if not, then whatever). I had tried a routine with guild lead, bought sub to keep lead, and log into my leader first, and to make sure I log into her last too. But to come online the other day... oh loook! Uncle is leader , now we have to try and talk to him, and get that leadership changed.... again. I wish we could stop this from happening. Most of this post is my personal perspective.... I have no doubt that most of you would strongly protest this for your own guild, defending it's value, and I agree with you! It's a GREAT thing for your guild. I wouldn't dare take away the auto-promote from your guild... That's why I suggest an option, not mandatory. What works for most guilds, usually doesn't work for me and my BFF's family, so I would not expect this to be forced upon you, it's why I make this a suggestion for an option! I have hopes, even if it is a small one, that there maybe some guilds who, like us, do not want the auto-promote mechanic for their own guild. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some of you whom would agree with us too. it would be nice if we could choose what we consider inactive, instead of the majority population choosing for us. Activity requirements that are best suited for the majority... are usually not suitable for us. Please understand, I am fully aware that this "auto-promote" mechanic works for most guilds, and I am happy for them that it is in place for those guilds, I want you to have your guild leaders who keep you happy with frequent acitivities... I just do not want this mechanic to be mandatory for all guilds. Not all guilds are exactly alike. This auto-promote is more of an annoyance for our family guild, and does not help us, it just gives us something more to manage, when we'd rather be out kicking some npc fanny, and we don't want to bother to call up the newest guild master so often, to get the leadership back in place... we don't like dealing with the grunts and groans and huffs of uncle, but thankfully he does pass the lead, because he loves us, what are awesome uncles for <3 We do not think we are special snowflakes, we are just different. Alternative suggestion: Auto-promote Guildmaster after 3 month activity 3 months... I could keep up with that. If only it were that way, if only our guild could opt out of what others think of activity. So many games, so little time (to keep up with public opinion -_-). I like having all the games to play, but I am sick and tired of worrying about guild leadership in ToR, when I'd rather be mining Diamonds in Minecraft, or getting my herbalism leveled, or feeding my OviPets, or whatever it is I am interested in doing. My focus of interest can stick to one game for weeks at a time. I hate when I log into ToR, and find things have been changed, just because I wasn't there "often enough" according to public opinion. My broadest opinion of my activity: I have a youtube channel I have not uploaded a video to, for a few years. I still consider myself active there. Someday, I will upload more. I have not lost interest in it. I have a very different view of activity, I just wish I was not subject to consequences based on a public view of inactivity. I hate losing stuff just because someone else thinks I'm inactive.
