  1. Do you ever run ops on the spur of the moment? My RL schedule won't allow me to commit to an ops team that runs at the same time always, but I would like to participate in ops in a pickup sense, like when enough people are on and we just put a team together. I take it WZ teams are just put together when enough folks are on. Those don't require as much planning. I would love to become a part of conquests and open world pvp too.
  2. I'm also interested. I'll keep an eye out for Gakriff, but he's not on right at this time. I see some folks on, but they haven't responded to my tells.
  3. I think the new expansion has ruined open world PvP...for many 1 on 1 fights. I like many of the new abilities companions have, but one thing they're missing is a stun break. I've had a couple encounters so far on Yavin 4, and every time the winner was simply whoever CC'd the other person's companion first, or CC'd you and took out your companion right away. Yes, you can break that stun to defend your companion, but then your opponent will stealth out and use their CC again before your stun break cooldown wears off. So what do I do when I encounter somebody? I use my companion's CC ability on the enemy's companion and it's basically a 2 v 1 fight. If I don't CC their companion, they CC mine, and it's a 2 on 1 fight. If I'm missing a mechanic please let me know, otherwise I'm just going to take down my PvP flag. I don't mind losing, but I don't care for fights that are always lopsided.
  4. Ok, I gotcha. Thanks for the info! I think I may look around a bit more, but I'll let you know if I'd like to join your guild!
  5. Thanks for the information. I actually primarily play on the imp side, and while that's great to hear you're trying to build up your imp guild, I'm looking for one that's more established on that side already. How many folks do you have online on a given night on the imp side would you say? Also, do you ever just throw together a group to do an op even if it's not your normally scheduled ops night?
  6. Hello, I've been having a hard time finding a guild that matches what I'm looking for. I'm not the most experienced with ops, but I learn quickly and the ones I have done I haven't struggled with following the strategy. I also like to PvP and think I'm pretty good in that department. Additionally: A guild with an imp and pub presence. Multiple members active during USA evening hours, but not a ginormous guild either. I'd like to be in a guild where folks get to know each other's strengths and weaknesses. Participate in both ops/FP's and PvP (ideally including space pvp), but at least occasionally doing so on the spot. My RL schedule makes it hard for me to commit to a regular schedule. Participation in conquests and at least a desire to get into the top 10 sometimes. Adults plz. I'm 29 and don't want to 10+ years older than everybody else... Please let me know if you're recruiting. I'll monitor this post, but you can also look me up in game and send a whisper/mail. I've been playing AeroAstroRick on the imp side as I work through the expansion. Thanks! AAR
  7. Ah ok. Yea right now I'm looking for a guild that has a sister guild on the pub side. Thanks for the quick reply. AAR
  8. Are you all on the imp or pub side? Or both? How many folks are typically on at a time? Are all your ops runs planned, or do you ever create a group on the fly and run an op? Are you still pursuing some PvP action? Sorry for the laundry list, it's just hard to ask all these questions in-game, and I'd like to save ourselves the time of having me apply if it's not a good match. Thanks! AeroAstroRick
  9. Here's the real question. I'm assuming enough folks are on at a time that both factions have premades and randoms queuing at the same time right? If premades were forced to fight other premades, and randoms against other randoms, wouldn't this problem be significantly reduced?
  10. Anybody else tired of getting their butts kicked in a warzone when you've just fought your own faction? I understand butt kickings will happen from time to time, especially if it's randoms vs a good premade, or if the republic has good players on and the imps have bad (and vice versa). However, I just got out of 2 imp vs. imp matches that were completely lopsided. I had a 4v4 WZ, my team had 3 heals and 1 dps, the other team had 4 dps. How does that make sense at all? As far as I could tell they were not a premade. I asked in chat, got no response, but they also were all from different guilds. I could go into more details about how the DPS team also was cross-healing and the healers on the heals team had almost no DPS (besides the 1 DPS), but lets just leave it at the fact it was 4 DPS vs. 3 heals and 1 DPS. Why on earth could not at least 1 of those heals be on the DPS side? And then in general, in other WZ's I've seen countless times when one team will get all 3 objectives and the other team won't get any (again in intra-faction matches). I could go on complaining, but at this point you're either going to troll this thread (please don't), or you understand what I'm saying. So my question is, what will it take to get an intelligent matchmaking algorithm put in this game to at least reduce some of these lopsided matches? Or do other folks not notice this and I'm just too easily frustrated? And for the record, I'm not just complaining about losing a lot...I don't enjoy winning that way either, so if you're gonna troll and say I just suck, then don't. I'd like a troll free board please .

    "Premades"

I've skimmed through these posts so I'm sorry if I missed somebody addressing this, but why would one faction constantly seem to dominate all the time? I've been playing lvl 60 PvP on the imp side, and more often than not the pubs dominate. Even when it's imp vs. imp it can be totally lopsided (and I usually lose). I'm not the best PvP'er, so I'm not going to say I'm cursed, but is my luck really that bad that I'm always stuck on the team with less skill? Or is it deeper than that? Is there a forum dedicated to discussing lopsided matches anywhere?
  12. Was this game's PvP ever any good? There is no attempt at balancing matches ahead of time. Even when it's a match of the same faction the matches can be a wipe. I don't mind losing, but getting wiped almost every day of the week is just ridiculous.
  13. Well...this thread did not nearly gain the attention I hoped it would. I guess not many people care about it or is there a conversation about this elsewhere?
  14. I'll be honest, I rarely read the forums so this may have a thread elsewhere. If it does, please forward me a link. Also, if this threat is better-suited elsewhere, let me know that as well. If not, then let me say I've been getting really frustrated with constantly fighting alongside a bunch of randoms against pre-mades in warzones. I don't mind losing, but I really just don't enjoy a lop-sided match where the other team has a group with balanced classes and most likely voice communication. Something has to be done to balance it out. Games dedicated to PvP like World of Tanks limit the size of a pre-made group when fighting randoms, and usually have another pre-made group on the other side so there's an equal number of random people and grouped people on each side. I don't know about everybody else, but I'd much rather wait in the queue for a few minutes longer than get thrown into the first available match that is completely lop-sided. What do people think?
