  1. Just resubbed to the game after 1.5yrs away, dusted off my healer and soon found myself here. Amazing really, we were having the same discussion almost 2yrs ago and nothing has changed. Now, I can't help but address the monumental ignorance in this thread because it pains me greatly. 1. Click-healing and mouse-over healing will always outperform the current model because less actions will always be more efficient. 2. If you don't want to click-heal, well then don't! The argument that healing is fine because you like the way it works isn't a valid argument for not adding a UI improvement others may enjoy. Of course, the real complaint here is that after click-healing is allowed Pryncess Lyea will run to the forums and cry about how her healer can't compete. 3. Click-healing makes lazy healers. Well, a lazy healer is still lazy whether he is click-healing or not. 4. The devs like healing the way it is. Normally I would agree, but in this case the PLAYER must navigate a clunky UI in order to PLAY his character. Not ok! Proper healing adjustments in game design are things like cast times, resource cost, range, and durations. Adding extra clicks and button presses isn't the answer. 5. What's wrong with clicking a target and pressing your heal button??? There are two major downsides to this that most people seem to overlook or dismiss. First, you are spending 2 actions to perform 1 ability. Second, you are constantly having to change targets. Lets go through a simple example! This could be a PVP or PVE fight although I'm imagining PVP really. The Click-Healer: Healer + Friend enter into combat vs Enemy Healer targets Enemy. From this position Healer is 1 action away from all possibilities. 1 click to heal Friend. 1 button to debuff/interrupt/attack Enemy. 1 button to heal self, because we're targeting Enemy heals default to self. No matter what happens Healer is 1 action away from all eventualities. Healer always knows what Enemy is doing. The SWTOR Healer: Healer + Friend enter into combat vs Enemy Healer targets Enemy. From this position Healer is 1 button to attack Enemy, 1 button to heal self, 2 actions to heal Friend. Friend takes damage. Healer targets Friend and Heals him. 2 actions. Healer is now blind to Enemy. Sure you can still see Enemy on the screen but you can't see what he's casting, you can't see what he's targeting, you can't tell immediately when he changes targets. Healer is also now 2 actions from healing self because keyboard heals default to the friendly target. Red numbers appear over Healers head. Time to target self and pump heals! 2 actions. What kind of damage is incoming? No clue, targeting self. Maybe Enemy is casting a big Snipe or other attack? No clue, can't see cast bar, targeting self. Maybe we can interrupt or stun Enemy? Good idea, but we still need to change targets yet again. 6. The click-healer is much more mobile. It's great moving around when you don't have a lame UI slowing you down. When you click-heal you can drive your character with the keyboard. When you need to keyboard heal you can drive your character with the mouse. Unfortunately, in the SWTOR model every heal requires a mouse action and a keyboard action, this will always cause your character to periodically come to a halt, which is just a killer in PVP. Yes, I know you can keybind party frames! That's great in a 5-man or 4-man? Whatever, it's not practical in the larger zones when healing 10 or more people. 7. The GCD argument, man where to start? The fact that some of you think the global cooldown is responsible for people having trouble healing, and some of you even go so far as to suggest the game might be better if they just removed the GCD is just scary. Folks, the GCD is a foundation block of the entire game. Without the GCD there would be no game. In such an insane scenario you would simply roll your face over the keyboard until you either died or won the fight. (Note: some of you may do this already) TLDR: Unlike DPS classes, healing is 90% reactionary, therefore the game needs to allow you to input those reactions as quickly and efficiently as possible or it hinders your play. It's not about the game making you a better healer or the game doing the healing for you. It's not Healbot, it's not Decursive, it's not lazy healing. It's about the game getting out of your way and allowing you to be the best possible healer you can be.

    Commendations

There's also a cap on Ranked Warzone Commendations of 3500. I ran into this cap while saving up for a 3200 gear piece. This unnecessary cap cost me 80+ Ranked Comms which, at the time, was about an hour of play time. No reason for this. Actually, if it had said on my Commendation screen "Limit 3500" I wouldn't have made this mistake, but that would be to difficult to add. Thanks for wasting my time BW.
  3. Firstly, it's an interesting idea, I always like to see different builds. Here's my comments: The first thing I ask about a build is, "are you maximizing DPS with your points?" Every point you spend in a build needs to either add DPS or help you reach some other DPS skill in a higher tier. In your build I see at least 8 points that aren't doing either. I'm specifically talking about your points in +END, +Healing, and Dmg Reduction. You say you're bolstering your melee with DOT dmg, so why not buff those DOTs? I suggest +18% Dart dmg and would argue that Lethal Dose (+12% DOT crits) outweighs Culling(+3% dmg). I recommend trying this build. Unfortunately, you have to take Flash Powder which is not that useful but I think it's worth it to reach Lethal Dose. You also get Combat Stims which are totally awesome. I put the last point in Endorphin Rush but you can get Energy Screen if you really want it.
  4. Your preference is irrelevant since you can choose to use a feature or not. But you already know that.
  5. Planet --> Station Station --> Hangar Hangar --> Ship Fly to next planet Ship --> Hangar Hangar --> Station Station --> Planet What kind of game design is this?? How about. Planet --> run through green wall, get on ship Fly to next planet Get off ship --> run through green wall At least use the Fleet model: Fleet --> Hangar Run through green wall, get on ship And why is the Fleet the ONLY location that allows vehicles in hangar areas?
  6. I'm wondering why all the planets aren't built to support cross-server populations. That would clear up some of the faction imbalances. And maybe make it worthwhile zoning FIVE TIMES to change planets.
