  1. you are right! well, that makes me feel a little better
  2. I leveled all the way through as healing, took qyzen everywhere and he tanked mobs down while I healed him...was a good system
  3. So, instead of fixing the double tick after the initial heal, Bioware got rid of the initial heal...So, now you cast it and there is about a one second gap between the fast double ticks...I would prefer the initial heal back and the removal of the fast tick because each second a heal is delayed can be important, salvation is already a 1.8 second cast and this pushes it closer to 3 was this what was intended? because it makes dual speccing a viable decision now

    Sorc 600k heals

potential for healing is based on their damage as well, you can't heal damage if it isn't happening...a weak empire team, one where the republic dominates, the damage is stacked on the republic side and so the potential for healing goes down... that said i find it easy on my sage healer to go 600k or more when we are facing good teams, and I average 300k when we are going against mediocre teams
  5. What I think is funny is that whenever an MMO launches you have have dozens of threads of the forums about DAoC. There is such a large community of old DAoC players out there that agree that it is the best PVP in the world and I would have to agree. Having played DAoC, WoW, AC, UO, WAR, etc. etc. it is the most fun PVP I have played. I still don't get why it isn't free to play though with TOA and other gear purchaseable, everyone would play it! The people who bash it probably haven't played it and if they did, not extensively. Everything in the game is just fun, though at this point it has shrunk down, it used to be so awesome DAoC is a PVP game though, WoW and SWTOR and any other game modeled after them is a PVE game. In DAoC you could take down any mob, you just had to have enough players, whereas these games go for the more specific encounters that challenge tanks, dps, and healers to be on their top game. In PVP in DAoC it was a challenge to fight other players, you had to assist to kill, interrupt the healer, use CC, use items, abilities, instants, EVERYTHING just to win a challenging fight. In this game 4v2 will almost always go to the 4 with all things being equal, but in DAoC a 4v2 was more like PVE in this game, 2 good players can prevail in that type of situation. I understand wanting the best of both worlds, but as a PVPer I will always be partial to that...I don't care about high end raid content or any of that. If DAOC had tons of people playing and wasn't 10 years old with graphics that reflect that, I could get my friends to play it, but it just won't happen. In the same way this game turning into DAoC in space won't happen
  6. and it is also ASTONISHING how little effort you put into replying to his thread if you took a second you would notice that there were absolutely no bikes in his screenshots despite the fact that the windows were in full view. OP: happened to a friend of mine once, make sure to fill out a bug report
  7. it doesn't hold a candle comparatively, but i see potential in Ilum...daoc has so many unique factors that make it the best PVP experience on this planet that I doubt it will ever be emmulated successfully with new content. I have chased every single MMO that has been released since and I have been disappointed so I have had to lower my expectations in addition, let's say if my friends weren't playing this game...I wouldn't either
  8. That is the reason that I enjoy PVPing in SWTOR and other games, I personally play PVP in games for two reasons: I enjoy pvp, which makes up 90% of the reason, and the other 10% is the rewarding feeling of progression. In DAOC I played my druid until realm rank 11L4, millions and millions of realmpoints (14 million I think and around 200 per kill in rvr) not the way it is, the way i prefer it to be
  9. I'm cool with that, a system with more tiers and smaller gaps between each overall is a great compromise instead of removing the stat
  10. And it got me to thinking about how I view this game and others, so I will ask you this question: Why do you PVP in SWTOR and other games? I would like you to break it down by percentages comparing your desire for progression and more gear versus the enjoyment you get from killing enemies for any other reason such as reputation, the challenge in killing other players, etc; for example, my own reason for continual PVP in SWTOR is 90% enjoyment 10% progression. I think that is the reason I prefer a diminished role for gear in the end game. I think it is nice to have goals to work for, but even if the game has a great and complex reward system, I am not going to play unless it is enjoyable. That is the reason I think a lot of people are upset with the current system, some current 50s and new 50s see the gear restrictiveness of PVP and get no enjoyment from dying repeatedly until they can slowly progress and get their gear to kill others in the same way. As for those of us on the top (I am a Jedi Sage with 600 expertise), I dislike simply slaughtering others and don't take much enjoyment from it. I want to feel like I won a good fight, not slaughtered fish in a barrel. There has been a lot of argument over the removal of expertise from the game on these forums and I just wanted people to understand where our side is coming from. It isn't that feel there should be no rewards for PVPing or no differing factors for PVP versus PVE gear, it is the feeling that the current system has the potential to leave more casual players in the dust and create an unbalanced environment. I suggest simply bringing back the level 50 blue gear that had around 250 expertise that could be obtained quickly. The idea that in PVP you transition from leveling blues and greens to Centurian and Champion epics is a little rich Bioware. Why not allow people to collect level 50 gear from PVP at a lower level that allows them to be slightly more competitive when they hit 50. Please and thank you.
