  1. Im kind of fickle. Played a Sorc to 35, Mara to 20odd a few times and the only Toon thats kept my attention has been my powertech. Leveling is a great learning curve, you can actually look back and see your progression. Gear looks awesome. Companions are all great and all have their own uses. Bioware put some real effort into the BH storyline.

They only reason i would have played vanguard over PT would be the chance to get into a all trooper guild just for kicks, but other than that i would choose PT. From a low level you really feel you make a difference....and you can melt some serious face.

  2. Name: Marlo D'Hanzo

    Gender: Male

    Species: Human

    Age: 23

Likes: Showing intelligence, Non-Force users, Mandolarians, Adventure, Partying, Spice abuse (you know what i mean ;))

Dislikes: Jedi/Sith, Dishonor, Backing down, Boats

    Primary Stat: Aim

    Secondary Stat: Endurance

    Main Weapon: Tech Staff

    Secondary Weapon: Blaster Pistol

Gifts: Weapons, Luxury, Trophy, Technology, Culture (im an easy companion to gain affection with :D)

Background: Born a Mandolorian and proud of it. As a boy excelled in hand to hand combat but equally as talented with a blaster and flame thrower. Marlo and his 5 closets companions left the enclave after an event that left them forced into exile. Left with no allegiances other than to each other and the Mandalorian way of life that had turned its back on them. Being young they all tended to stray but Marlo was known for it more than the other 4, prone to drinking that bit too much and always partial to a bit of spice. Nether the less they were all trained warriors each specializing in their own fields of combat. When the youngest of the group and arguably the one with the most potential, Arya Pyane, was killed in the cross fire between a reckless Jedi Consular and Sith Warrior Marlo and his now elite group of exiled Mandolorians vowed to regain their heritage and rise above both the Jedi Order and Sith Empire, whatever the cost.

By the way if anyone is up for some RP on Lord Calypho, hola at your boy. PM me in game

  3. Im happy with "Flash-point" finder as long as its not cross realm. I think from playing wow that cross realm doesn't do any good for the community of a server. I like grouping with people while a level and seeing them progress as I do. Also helps you to know who are the good and bad players on your server as well as make a few gaming buddies along the way. And as stated before cross-realm is just a license to be a douche with no repercussions,
  4. I posted a thread in general saying pretty much the same as the OP (i totally agree btw) and it got shot down by the moderators. Seems they want general to become even more of a wretched hive of scum and villainy. At least we have some respite here. I for one will reserve my judgement until December 2012 when I'm sure they game will look very different to the one launched last December. I'm loving it either way
  5. I personally dont feel the same in this game as i did other MMO's. Im not getting the sense of adventure or the amazing community feel. But there are parts i think are great, the story rocks.

...There just seems to be something missing, maybe im being too optimistic thinking time will solve the problems

  6. I don’t know what to say.

I thoroughly enjoy this game. I mean I really really do. Granted I haven’t seen every facet or experienced every class but at the moment I’m satisfied to pay my subs and discover what the game has to offer and what undoubtedly the future will bring.

This game has crazy amount of potential, to what it could be. Admittedly it could have been a lot more from the beginning but if anyone has played a MMO since launch before they will know they change more than then star or a Broadway show. This known, I’m going to reserve my overall judgement of the game until it’s at least a year old.

One of the biggest problems I’ve noticed with this game is not the content, or the bugs, or the server population or even the crazy PVP imbalance but it’s the community. I think this game has been put on a pedestal so high any kind of fall would be devastating. It’s for runners were immense, Kotor was a definitive game and I (I’m sure many others too) were hoping for a lot of the features we had there. SWG was in many many ways a much more engrossing game, you really felt like you were part of it, something I feel SWTOR is sadly lacking. Not to mention some of the very exciting new titles to be released this year (The Secret World, GW2, Terra just to mention a few). These games may be much more suited to both you and me, but we won’t know until they are here.

I guess what I’m trying to say, and not very well, is that all these things can be fixed with time. Population will grow, bugs will be fixed and content will expand but overall it’s the community that will make this game a success. If you, no we, want this game to succeed we need to stand behind it. I know people will be disgruntled play subs for an imperfect game, but that’s just what it is.. a game. Enjoy it and help it grow. I’m not saying that lots of things couldn’t be better, and with time they will be. And if they don’t there will always be another MMO to waste our best years on.

If you’re not sure what I’m getting at with this post, neither am I. I guess im just trying to gain some perspective on all the out of control QQing. This isn’t a **** at anyone (were all entitled to our opinions), it’s just a reminder to show some support for something I think the majority of us are deeply enjoying.

Kind of expecting a hail of abuse for this, seems to be the trend of this community. Either way, I’v said it, it’s out there.

  7. Best:

Being the second best pvp tank in the game.

    Worst:

Having to flounce around with the most effeminate looking weapons in the game.

I dunno about effeminate. I think having a pistol is bad ***. Glowsticks and Cannons are like giant "ego" extensions. I dont need a big gun to show off my "equipment". Understated pistol every time

  8. Put it this way, I had the same dilemma that most BH's have when choosing a AC. I made the jump and picked Powertech back in December when they were still a well kept secret and have never looked back. The class gives crazy satisfaction. Does exactly what it says on the tin.

And in the end your ill always still have your Merc in-case they ever do buff it. Seems the Powertech population is jumping at the moment. I'm sure we will feel the Nerf bat soon enough and probably before EAowars anointed glow-stick fairy's.

  9. I was literally about to open a thread, but you look like someone who could help.

Can you outline the stat priority for a PT Pyro. I know Aim>endurance etc. Im level 43 and starting to collect my recruit gear and looking to know what stats are better. As i understand its Power>Crit>Surge? Am i missing anything?

    Thanks in advance

  10. technically there are two ways to level.. three really

    regular pve.

pvp ( easy to level through that)

    and space missions

completely different game experiences to level and play that way.. are they as fullfilling to the player? maybe? maybe not? personally i have a character i pretty much only level through pvp, its fun but not all the time.

the problem is.. a fair bit of the community who posts on the forums want to turn this game into either

    SWG or KOTOR

both of those games were good for their time, but they both are not swtor, nor should swtor try to be them.

I for one loved and hated the housing in swg. it was cool until people left in droves and planets were full of unused houses littering the place making it impossible to plant more housing.. but it was novel and awesome... then became a pain.

but people need to realize that not everything starwars has to be one of those two .

I have to admit, im a huge advocate for player housing. But it can be done right. There can be whole planets for housing, they dont need to litter the generally populated areas (if there are any). Space is vast, player space stations and movable guild capital ships would solve this problem

  11. I also want my hobbies in SWTOR---things like cooking, fishing, gambling, housing, collections, etc. Give us a meaningful achievement system and incentive to do things. The lack of being able to customize our ships is disppointing to me. An MMO shouldn't just be all about gear, gear, gear at endgame. It is always fun to chase other achievements like finding that perfect couch for your house or that rare artifact to complete your collection. I find SWTOR to be very light in the fluff department and that is disappointing to me.

Well said. In a vast galaxy far far away, and space being so damn big i find it hard to believe there isnt space for player housing, guild capitol ships and player run space stations. Also they really need to open up the worlds abit, i want to be able to spend hours exploring to find that perfect spot to build my secret bounty hunter enclave and store all that booty iv been pillaging

  12. What would keep me playing SWTOR?

    New playable races : No

    New flashpoints : Yes

New Raids : Yes, but need a decent guild and thats hard enough as it is

Faster load times : Meh, less loading screens would be good

Less server downtime : Doesn't bother me that much.

    New pets : No

New crafting recipes : Crafting needs a total revamp. Crafting in the starwars universe has almost limitless possibilities

New space missions of the current type : No No No. Fine as a side mission but space needs to be redone. What i want is all here Space gameplay concepts. Compiled works of multi posters

New armour styles : I Like the BH armor sets, being able to pick the color insted of going off the chest set would be great. Also let out blasters also change colour, but thats just fluff really

A looking for group tool : Yes

A total rework of the space mission. Yes totally, again check out Space gameplay concepts. Compiled works of multi posters

    New class missions : yes

New pvp warzones : Definitely. Would love to see a kill team style warzone or Team Death Match. Vehicle in warzones could also be another idea

Much faster leveling for alts so you can skip all the sidequests : Maybe make it not so linear. Im skipping planets at the moment apart from class quests so i have something new to do on my alts

More Legacy options : If they cut the prices a bit then yes.

Substantial fluff would also be nice, Pazzak, swoop bike racing etc. I dont see professions and space combat as fluff, these should be intrinsically part of the game.

  13. I see where your coming from. Just saw this on a seperate thread to show people are thinking along the same lines.

In terms of missions, I would LOVE to see something like a "speeder mission" set, sort of like the Space Missions. You're on a speeder and you're either delivering something, escorting someone, racing against the clock, or chasing down people (many opportunities). Also having "Speeder Commendations" to upgrade the speeder you're using for these missions, get different speeder customizations, and maybe some speeder piloting/racing gear. This could also work for speeder racing in the game in general.
