  1. Since it's relevant I thought I'd plug this neat video I saw on Meetra Surik, I kinda agree that she's cooler than revan and I'm not a fan of what they did with her story for Swtor.
  2. Those are certainly interesting points, it is true the weight of the blade and the balance point are very important in sword play and I've studied a few sword techniques; Without the momentum of the blade weight it seems like it'd be almost impossible to have all those choreographed saber spinning fights in the prequels; I've tried to envision using a weightless bladed weapon, in the sense that I modified a heavy windu force fx saber and put in a very very light poly carbonate blade, the hilt was so heavy you couldn't feel the blade there at all and the center point of balance of the hilt was near the center, it's safe to say it felt very different to wield. I don't think he was wrong as Torque is a force that tends to cause rotation, which essentially could be gyroscopic too. I would imagine if going by that whole gyroscopic resistance on the hilt wouldn't shift the center balance of the hilt would it? simply rotate around it? so It wouldn't give a better balance to the blade despite the weight but simply make it even harder to control. As for him contradicting himself, I think he was trying to say that trained Force users can Negate it, Non-Force users have to adapt to it, but it will always be there meaning a trained Force User will always have the advantage when using one. I.e those without the force through training could get used to it but it'd still be there.
  3. What's your thoughts on this theory on lightsabers here? I've always thought they were just weightless, and because of that it'd be hard for someone not gifted in the force to easily cut themselves but thinking about it, what he's talking about here with the Torque force and the feel of energy seems like quite the logical argument. I really like this theory, it goes hand in hand with the idea that blades are plasma; plasma couldn't hold it's form like a lightsaber without a magnetic, or gravitational field holding it in place, and there would have to be something generating that. One way of creating a magnetic field is to have electrons in motion, like spinning magnets around a copper wire or vice versa and that would vibrate the hilt when you turned it on; Have you ever held something that has a very strong rotational vibration before? we used to have a head massager that when turned on felt very difficult to move, because it was forcing your wrist to rotate, and I could imagine how this would apply to the theory.
  4. Lmao at the last bit, imagine.. although I wouldn't put it past the Bioware writing team
  5. I didn't really take into consideration revan's motives being retconed per game; that's a good point actually. His character's really been made so wishy-washy over the course of swtor as well, with his third faction later on with the whole Shadow Of Revan story arc, so it does seem he didn't care about the republic or the sith even, but rather his own dominion.
  6. Well that's the thing, I didn't think he had much love for it to begin with but there's a lot of sources that say he was trying to strengthen them against a future proper sith invasion and disagreed with Malak's approach to a complete onslought. Hk47 was used to assassinate key political opponents as well rather than mainly military assassinations. Wouldn't a battle between empire's be risky however? with both answering to the dark side's call, wouldn't sith from Revan's side be tempted to follow what they might forsee as the true sith rather than Revan? Where as rallying the Banners of light behind you versus an evil unknown seems like a stronger position to fight against. Why even bother succumbing the galaxy to your sith empire just to fight another sith empire built on the same values, it just perturbed me.
  7. Like, many basic fanboys of my time I have an obsession with Revan, and I actually saw this freakin cool new vid on Revan done by I think a relatively new youtuber. And it like goes into some really interesting parts of the lore covering from Kotor 1 to, beyond and even touching on that slaves infinite engine part in the SWTOR storyline. I haven't seen someone go this far in depth into a character before and I think it's meant to be like a multichapter series. Anyway here's a link and I bid you go watch it if you love the character or want to know more about it: There's a bit there actually about how Revan wanted to strengthen the republic but I never understand how by throwing them into a second war straight after the mandos and forcing jedi into the darkside was going to do anything but weaken them? I mean following the events of the swtor teaser trailer storyline it gives off the impression that the republic were wholly unprepared even so, does that mean Revan made a major mistake or was it that the 300 year gap is what caused the Sith to throw the republic off-guard?
  8. I have talked to him a couple times, he invited me over to his server, but, that seemed like too much effort haha.
  9. More New player help videos coming soon, and advanced player help included. Subscribe if you are interested.
  10. I have to agree with Operative being the best, I forgot my companion once at level 42, and accidentally ran into a group of mobs, and by trying to dodge a patroller, I agroed a second group of mobs. I was fighting 6 normal mobs, and 3 strong mobs, without a companion, and I still managed to beat them with full health at the end of the fight. Being able to aoe a little, heal yourself without needing to spend any energy, and do great damage, really helps in solo situations. I think I only died about 5 times throughout the whole solo levelling experience as Operative. Make sure you pick the Healing route though, a cost to some of your damage, but much greater survivability from heals.
  11. We might be able to join forces one day, I too just created a channel : http://www.youtube.com/user/ForgottenLoreTV/videos
  12. It used to be "Onasi" afte Carth Onasi from KOTOR I, but of course I had to change server so it became "Ruyn" Therefore I am now "Luminous Ruyn"
  13. The next video will hopefully be up in 2-3 days. Overall there will be more videos in a four part series named the following: o) Group Roles o) The Tank o) The Healer o) The DPS The first video(coming soon) will be an overview of all the roles(tank/healer/dps) and will be very useful to beginner players and a good reference for more advanced players. The next 3 videos will be a detailed guide on how to be good at that respective role, all the different workings you need to know about, and of course how to be a good team player in that role, in both PvE and PvP situations. I would recommend those 3 videos to anybody playing that role as it will be very good at making Group play more successful. Here is the channel again: http://www.youtube.com/user/ForgottenLoreTV/videos
  14. Ok, I have compiled a list of Popular suggestions I would be interested in doing: *Planetary Reviews *Guides for casual players(e.g. guide to group roles, what to do in PvE and PvP situations regarding your role) *Lore (on the whole Old Republic Era, this would be further down the line however) *How to be a Team player(In both PvP, and now with group finder, PvE) *Player class guide (I will need to get more people to join my channel for this, I don't play all classes ) *Myth Busters (Myths within the game, see if it is true or false) I have a lot cut out for me here, I have a dream of this becoming the youtube channel for SWTOR players to receive useful tips and become better players through well made videos that are enjoyable to watch. If you would like to help me achieve this, come to my EU server "Nightmare lands" and we can form The Forgotten Lore guild, our base of operations. Message me on this thread or through the PM system if you have any other ideas or prepositions.
