  1. The only way you can do that is if your opponent is bad or lacks the abilities (which is possible if you are in the 10-49 bracket). Any good 50 melee will use their abilities to counter ours and not get kited like that. If they do get kited like that, then they are simply not good...which is not a sorcerer/sage issue.
  2. Shield is ~3kish, so not great since we have no armor. As a DPS sorc our heal is crap, to heal me from near death to full heal takes ~15 seconds, more time then to Seeth out of combat, and make me OOF (if you see good heals at the end of a WZ it is because our shields were getting used since that counts as a heal). Our stuns, slows, and sprint is our escape mechanisms since we are squishy. If you see a Sorc who is not squishy and can tank damage, they are either healers (and doing little DPS), or guarded by a tank and you are debuffed by the tank to do even less damage (which has nothing to do with sorcerers).
  3. People are complaining about DPS Sorcerers ganging up on them. Well, our weakness is we are very squishy so to combat that we need to either put ourselves in positions to be unattractive targets or have support to burn them down before they burn us down. Simple logic dictates that the easiest way to accomplish both of those things is to try and be with others around to support you. With more then 1 sorcerer feeling that way, it tends to get us to form packs of 2-3. 2-3 of any class makeup will melt single players all alone.
  4. It is not accurate. However what is accurate is that people claiming one class is overpowered over and over again does impact representation in Warzones regardless if that class actually is overpowered or not. Truth does not matter in this case, what people believe does.
  5. a 10% bonus to damage done and taken is a barrier? Hell, if the classes damage output is balanced within 20% of each other that would make it far more balanced they any MMO ever. Expertise is not much of a limiting factor into getting in, especially with how easy it is to get your first few pieces of PvP gear. (Sure Expertise goes up to 20%, but with diminishing returns hitting hard after 10% you are sacrificing to much to higher)
  6. Which bar? The one above people's heads is only out of 800 and you are not Resolve Bar immune until it hits 1000 and the bar turns white.
  7. Just for clarification, your resolve bar fills up based upon the TIME you were CC'd and not based on the spell used (except knockbacks with have a set resolve value). Therefore if you trinket out after 1 second of a 4 second stun, you only get 200 resolve rather then the 800 resolve for the full stun. As such are easier to chain more stuns on. Here is a good thread on that: http://taugrim.com/2012/01/04/understanding-swtors-resolve-mechanic/ I am not happy with the resolve system myself, as a squishy Sorcerer if I have been CC'd enough to have a full resolve bar I am most likely already dead or close to it. That said I pvp a lot with a well geared tank and once he gets a full resolve bar he is nearly unstoppable in huttball.
  8. Hutball is awesome! Every class can bring very strong aspects to a match. There are several strong strategies that work so it is not always the same. You can try to rapidly move the ball forward on both levels of platforms, or control the middle so they can't form a good offence, or try and make their team separate to chase people leaving openings in. I have literally seen a tank guild mate of mine taunt the other team in chat, and get them to focus fire him and let the ball carrier simply walk past and score. Alderan to me simply feels like one side or the other is just turtleing for over half the fight. And voidstar just feels like an extended cage match with little to no strategy involved. Huttball is by far the most fun IMO.
  9. All classes are overpowered if you do not capitalize on their weaknesses. Most of the people who are claiming sorc are overpowered are not doing that. I have gotten over 600k damage in voidstar 5 times but it has nothing to do with me being good or playing an overpowered class. It everything to do with the other team letting me. When I face good teams, I need to push to do half that much damage as it is hard to DPS when some melee is continually trying to shove their lightsaber down my throat.
  10. Yes we are saying the stealth/burst/stun combo is broken even when geared. Sure 100-0 in 3 seconds is rare but it is nearly a guarantee kill anyway. Sents/Muaraders have great burst and a choke, but I can see them coming so I have a chance to fight back, no complaints. Assassins have stealth and even a stun out of stealth, but it is not an issue since they lack the burst and their stun out of stealth is only 2 seconds. Give me a reasonable chance to fight back and I have no issue, but right now it is not an operative beating me with skill, it is an operative beating me with a broken combo of abilities. That said, they need something to compensate for the proposed nerf...just nothing bursty.

    Typical Empire Team

lawl, look at the warrior in your pic did 40% of the team's damage! NERF WARRIORS! THEY DO NEARLY THE DAMAGE OF 7 SIs & BHs!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. It would be if you all didn't seem to always drop my dots & invis to get out of combat and run away at low health. Ya, I realize that it is on a 3 min cooldown but it feels like ops always have it ready everytime I find one out of stealth. That is a crazy good escape, not OP, just crazy good. Ok, I am a bad player, how do I take away an ops backstab and hidden strike while stunned?
  13. You might be right about Mitigation being the issue and I really do not think resolve works well either. Either way in its current form of this is too much damage with a stun and no warning, that combination is broken. Honestly, I can not think of a game where I felt a class with a stun out of stealth that had good burst dps was a balanced mechanic. It was either too weak or too strong (although I feel too weak is much more playable). This nerf has to happen, just like WoW rogue's stunlock had to be nerfed. No class should have a near guarantee win in PvP. But I feel Ops need something to compensate.
  14. In every game I have played that has a stun out of stealth mechanic has seemed so hard to balance in PvP. Usually if a an Op gets the jump on me I am dead. A few times it has been a 100-0 in 3 seconds but honestly that is rare. Most often I get a 2-3 globals to work with and then I am dead. If I make a successful escape from the Op I am usually hunted down by someone else as there is no way for me to get out of combat quickly to Seethe and my self heals as a DPS Sorc are slow and tiny. Very few times can I make it out alive, and I will be the first to admit I might not be dealing with them correctly but really going 100-20 in under 3 seconds while stunned does not give me many options. Given how resolve is based on how long you were stunned and not the spell used, using the trinket simply means I am more likely to get CC'd again. Really no class should have a near guarantee win, even if they catch the other one off guard. No other class in the game has that, nor should they. I do not think Ops are over powered really, just this mechanic of stun out of stealth with high burst is broken but I do agree with most Ops that if they take that away they might be too weak. I really think Op burst needs to be toned down and their sustained DPS increased, maybe by making them have a more powerful DoT?
  15. Pretty bold to attack the OP by saying he is the wrong spec when he didnt even say what class he is. I play a sorcerer, if my CC break is on cooldown, I will be sub 20% by the time I can do anything, even with a full bubble up, and have about 2-3 globals to escape. That low health, standing to fight is suicide. Even if I run I am likely dead anyway as being a low health DPS sorcerer usually attracts attention and am chased down by someone. I have seen a few times of 2 ops working as a team and there is no chance then to even run, they jump you and you are dead.
  16. Sure Ignore most of my post, but you mentioned BGs and BGs are 8v8. Most of the time people think they are 1v1 they miss the 2nd range DPS shooting them in the back half hidden at max range. Even most 1v1 awards do not come from true 1v1 fights because one side starts injured or without cooldowns against another side that is full health and ready to burn.
  17. How do you KNOW it was lightning that "racked" you? It is the filler in my rotation as a sorcerer between my better DPS abilities and includes DoTs (one of which does bypass armor). Are you sure it was 1v1? Good players hide their position so you might only see the lightning hitting you and not the Grav round to the back of the skull. Sadly as a Sorcer FL gives away my position often. Your total argument is based on supposition.
  18. Mid- levels are really unbalanced classwise IMO. At 50 and equally geared tank is near indestructible if played well. That doesn't just mean standing around taking damage but rather debuff opponents to both take more damage and deliver less damage. SWTOR tanks in pvp are support classes. They allow DPSers & Healers to do their jobs better and live longer. If they do their job well, the DPSers on their side will take out the people beating on them to live forever. PvP should never be balanced 1v1....although that said a good tank 1v1 is a beast to deal with as a sorc and I will honestly say I do not think I could beat one. Not because I lack the skills or my/their class is better, but rather that it would take so damn long help for one side or the other will show up by then and it won't be 1v1 anymore. Their mitigation, debuffs, defensive cooldowns, and control are so solid.
  19. To be precise, Affliction bypasses armor (internal damage) while Crushing Darkness is mitigated by armor (kinetic damage). But yes, I agree with you that people are not realizing what is actually killing them.
  20. Don't be stupid, if FL crit for 3500 it could nearly 1 shot people with the 4 ticks each cast. It clearly never does that. If you are seeing damage for 3500 while being hit by force lightning, you are also being hit by something else...which has been my argument for a while that the flashy graphic attack is not what kills people.
  21. It can crit that night on a heavy armor class but it is rare...and more rare given that crit is a poor stat for us so we stack it less (Power and Expertise are by far better stats for us). It might do 1053-1578 crits on people with no armor on but who do you pvp that is naked? Even Sorcerers have a little bit of armor on to reduce that damage. People think that Force Lightning does a ton of damage, but it is really just a filler in the most common Madness or Madness/Lightning Hybrid rotations. By the time people see me cast Force Lightning on them, they most likely already have 2 DoTs (or 3 depending on the spec) that they did not notice were applied. Since we have no addon crutches like "decursive" in this game to help people dispel, few people dispel them in PvP. Once we get logs we can disprove this rumor of Lightning bypassing armor outright, but until then it will be all anecdotal evidence by others unless you test it yourself by dueling friends in both Heavy and Light armor over and over again. My experience is that it is a significant difference when cast on tanks vs. other Sorc/Sages. In fact, unless tank is without support I find just using my 2 attacks that bypass armor on him and then using FL on his support staff where it might actually do some damage.

    Fix Resolve

You become CC immune at 1000 resolve, but the bar above people's heads only shows 0-800 for some reason so the bar can look full but is not at 1000 resolve.
  23. Was the other person just standing there and waiting to only DPS during shields? In a 17 second fight without a healer or tank's guard on me either I killed them, they killed me, or I am running for my life.
  24. I have always been amazed by the hate for Sorc's run away ability of sprint and don't see anything for the classes that just drop their dots and invis when they are about to die. They are both escape mechanisms and the invis is way more powerful.
