Ok. So, any insight as to why so much trooper gear has cunning on it? By your logic, a cannon with cunning is totally useless, to ANYBODY, since troopers are the only ones that can use cannons. Cunning improves tech. I KNOW aim does also (for a trooper), what I'm wondering is if cunning doesnt improve it by MORE than aim does, so that trooper gear with cunning would be "optimized" gear for healers? Can you link something saying that troopers don't want cunning, ever? I can't find anything like that, anywhere on the forums, the swotor site, or through google. I appreciate both of your posts, but I'd like a more definitive answer than "don't use cunning cuz I said so." EDITED FOR SPELLING AND GRAMMAR.

Help me Trooper forums, you're my only hope... So, finding a lot of Trooper gear, especially cannons, with cunning on it. I'm wondering, is Cunning a better stats for healing commandos than Aim? I know both increase tech for a trooper, does Cunning increase it more? Anyone have any insight as to why there is so much trooper gear with Cunning, when it seems superior to gear for Aim? thanks in advance.

Ok, No more responses needed. Thank you all that posted. I turned of V-sync, set catalyst AA to app controlled, and am now getting 55+FPS on max setting, dropping to 40-ish in Warzones. This is what i was aiming for. Thank you all. Peace out.

If you are going to quote me, don't edit out the part where i stated that i was referring to the SERIES of card. Editing that out completely changes what I said. At any rate, I didn't start this post to argue about how good my card is, or isn't. I want to figure out how to get the most out of what I have. EDIT: Not sure if you edited you post, or I misread it, but I give you the benefit of the doubt. I apologize.

Radeon cards run in series, with series being almost the same, with minor differences. The 68 and 69 series cards are the only ones "better" than the series I am using. this info comes directly from the XFX site ( I am actually running an XFX gamer edition card, the which is souped up to be on par with the 5800 series.). When I said "2 steps down" i was referring the series. It is by no means a bad, or "low-end" card.

I lowered my resolution one step, and it DID give me another 10 FPS. I have always heard that you want to run at your monitors native res though, which in my case is 1900x1080, so, how did turning this down get me better fps? I'm confused...

Yes, I know that my CPU is a bottleneck. Turning down settings, DOES improve FPS though, so its not capping out or anything. i'll check out the article, thank you for the link.

I use MSconfig to close all background programs whenever I play a game. Typically, the only thing I have running in background, are default windows programs, and Ventrilo.

I don't understand what "Forcing AA" means. Do I want it application controlled, or using Catalyst, and if using Catalyst, which setting would you recommend?

This card is rated for 2500x1600 or 1920x1200 1080p HDMI. I'm not sure what "classed as low-range" means. This card is only 2 steps down from the best card Radeon makes. there is nothing "low" about it. Thank you for the response though.

*RESOLVED* Received several good suggestions and after implementing a few of them, i am now getting 45-50 FPS on max settings Can someone versed in such things help me get the most out of my GPU please? I can run the game maxed out and get 25-ish frames, or on low and get 30-ish (1900x1080). Doesn't seem right, especially considering I have a pretty decent card. I am looking to get at least 40 FPS steady, with best graphics possible. All my drivers are up-to-date My setup: Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6002) Service Pack 2 (64-bit) Processor: Intel® Pentium® Dual CPU E2200 @ 2.20GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz Memory: 4094MB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 11 GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6770 Display Memory: 2806 MB Dedicated Memory: 1014 MB Shared Memory: 1791 MB Current Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz) I am using the most -up-to-date version of the AMD Catalyst, with Overdrive, and help configuring this as well would be appreciated. Dec 13th. I wan't to be positive and believe we'll all get in ant once, but after the roller-coaster ride that has been the last couple of day, with them letting in so few each day (imo) and stopping each day, rather than just running the waves 24/7 (I still don't understand the reason for that one), I'm not optimistic. I'll be happy if I get in on the 19th.

I actually pre-orderd the first day. Then played in 2 beta events, decided the game isn't for me, and cancled said pre-order. I'm a PvP player, and while the Pvp they DO have is good, there isn't much of it, and I was afraid that would be it, that they wouldn't be adding more. Since then, articles I have read, videos I have watched, etc, have convinced me that they are most likely going to support the PvP aspects of their game. So I re-pre-ordered on the 13, DECEMBER 13... I could just KICK myself.
