I have a been a constant subscriber for a year and a half. You take my money, I play your game, I call that good.
This week, after painstakingly preparing my guild and my friends for this launch, I logged in to find that I was not able to access KOTFE content. No harm, no foul, I go check my sub status from july-october. I find that I was subbed all that time without a lapse. Here's the catch though, in august I used a referral link. It was my husbands, we wanted the mounts, and we shared the stuff with our friends and a few of them got things too.
Turns out it pushed my renewal date to September 2nd. Two days past the deadline, and they aren't counting it as subbed time... even though I was sub-status.
So, really what I want to say here is that, as a business model, this blows goats, and you've really pissed off some fairly loyal customers. I know that in four days everyone will be playing this expansion, but is it worth it when your alienate your customers by refusing to honor time you gave them? I think not.
